As I read these pages I am repulsed by the amount of negativity concerning the Lost Shores event. Yes, it had it’s problems, yes there was lag and yes people, including myself, were disconnected before being able to complete phase 3. The time I spent playing the game this weekend wasn’t wasted, I enjoyed myself and I saw many other players enjoying themselves too. There was a sense of comraderie present that I have not seen in any other MMO. Many times did I and other players help one another when we were downed. We stuck together, we fought the good fight and we had fun. Yes, I would certainly like my reward for the event but it’s not going to make me quit the game if I don’t get it. Thank you Anet for all that you did to make this event a success, I appreciated it and i’m sure so do many other players. Looking forward to the next one.

I’m complaining because I didn’t even get to play the final event. I did have fun over the weekend in the first two phases, but despite being online and in zone, I didn’t get to participate in phase 3 due to bugs. Even if I played and didn’t get loot, I’d be fine.

The idea was great but realization was tragic.

Too much lagging.
Too many people.
Too long.

Why not make it an instance?

I personally loved the event, arguably because of some of the problems. Our entire overflow got wiped by invisible Karka a couple times, but noone was really complaining, we all laughed and made “dead people” jokes. Our overflow took one of the longest in my full guild to complete, yet I had a blast the entire three hours. No I didn’t experience disconnects, but there was plenty of lag, and the loot I got wasn’t much to celebrate about either. Some people need to remember this is a game. Have fun! Quit being so negative all the time. Great Job ANet, looking forward to how you try to top yourselves with Wintersday.

The many different ways I can spell Regnilond xD

If it would have been an instance, say one you could only complete once, but you were guaranteed the rewards instead of people like me getting d/c’d and screwed out of a chance to ever get that chest, it would have been great. You could have coordinated and had a fun time with friends. But it was a horrible, laggy, culling-ridden zergfest where I spent 2 and a half hours only to not be able to participate in the last few minutes or whatever and get back in for a chest I’ll never have another chance at.

I don’t see why some people are opposed to making these things instanced — Anet put in the effort to make a nice zone and mobs, so just going ahead and putting it in instances instead would cut down on these problems a lot.

Ok, I will agree with you on that point. I have never been revived or revived so many people without fuss in any other game. So thank you for making that so common in this game.

Says the people in these forums in hopes aNet will see their thank you’s and give them that precursor for nothing.

Bottom line is if no one complains then NOTHING gets addressed for future events and such. Why play a game that you are not happy with? Why let bugs, lag, invisible mobs and NPC’s exsist ingame in the first place? Why let things go by unaddressed?

I paid 60$ just like everybody else, they got my 60$. And what people want is their 60$ worth of any game. Would you play a buggy, laggy game that you spent 60$ on just because you refuse to not be one of the one’s that does not complain? Its kinda like buying designer clothes, you want those pants, or that jacket, or that shirt, or even them shoes or sneakers, but they do not have them in your size. Do you buy them anyways? No, you look elsewhere, or buy an alternative.

ANet, NcSoft or whatever. They are a business, and there business, is desinging patching games. If they are not desinging they are fixing bugs, Why? because that is what the company does. If no one complains, and nothing gets fixed or addressed, then what are the employees gonna do? Can’t keep them on the payroll since they are doing nothing.

There is this thing called BETA testing, what it does is allow players to attend to do nothing but complain, so the game runs smoothly.(some games have ALPHA testing. but this is a whole other topic) Once testing is done then it goes to release. When release is done the game, gets tested then repatched, etc.

That is when the complainers come in, they give their personal feedback of their experience’s and problems in game. So you, the Non-Complainers have a bugg free game so we can get our 60$ worth and be happy, and the employees still have a job.
