The lost shores is this weekend, ankittenep wondering what will happen during the events.
I think it will have to do something with Bubbles / DSD, the Elder Dragon from the unending ocean who forced the Quaggan, krait, etc. to flee to central Tyria.
Why?
One of the new warning signs clearly shows some kind of octopus sea monster, or a Kraken. Also the new mobs who will invade Lion’s Arch are callen ‘Karka’ (derived from Kraken). We know less of the DSD, but this concept art might be interesting. It shows, just like that warning sign, a sea creature that looks like a big mean octopus, a Kraken, or some might call it ‘Leviathan’ (Mythical sea monster creature from the Bible). I suppose the one time only event will be that we will have to kill the DSD.
Also the Sea of sorrows is the most obvious choice for the DSD to send his minions. The Ring of Fire and Orr are under Zhaitan’s control and are crowded with Undead. Maguuma is a desert, I don’t think DSD’s minions would survive in a hot dry desert. So the Sea of Sorrows is the most obvious choice.

No, the Deep Sea Dragon would be in a dungeon. I don’t think they’d have him appear only once. I think the Kraka’s and the Dragon are unrelated.

Because Zhaitan was in a dungeon, all the other Elder Dragons will be dungeoned?

Do you think they’ll have an Elder Dragon as a 1 time only Event? Hopefully they’re smarter than that. And I’m sure the Kraka aren’t the Dragon’s minions. A crab doesn’t fit with a dragon.

Besides the fact that it makes no sense a dragon would be a one time event, it is too early for us to be fighting the DSD
A champion, sure. I’m pretty sure somewhere they said the one time event would be killing the ‘ancient karka’, so it could be a champion if they are related to DSD

I thought at first it might’ve been a reveal event, but what with all the new details I doubt it. The update is very gameplay-focused, not lore-focused, and the Karka seem unique.

And to nitpick Karka doesn’t derive from Kraken but is an Indian, astrologically rooted term for Cancer, the Zodiac crab.

DSD was my first thought. I hope it has something to do with the DSD… I am really tired of farming in a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with Zombies (a motif that is soooo overdone in pop culture as it is)… Orr can go die in a fire.

the dungeon wont be one time only, you’ll probably be able to play it later
and bubbles wont show up – its just building up to him imo

Bubbles might make a cameo in a one-time event, I have a feeling.
