The karka attacked Lion’s Arch for unknown reasons. They are unknown beings with supposedly indestructible armor.
We have repelled the initial attack of the karka and brough some samples for analysis. Right now we are up for three general tasks:
1) Rebuild Lion’s Arch.
2) Find out why karka came to Lion’s Arch, what are they and how are they connected to the Consortium.
3) Find out how to kill them and retaliate.

1) Rebuilding LA.
This is actually pretty straightforward so far, unless i’m missing something crucial.
You buy special tokens from Miyani by the Forge (second tab, topmost item), then you combine one token with 3 ‘junk items’ to get Council Commendations. The junk items are anything from unused items, to spare materials, to food.
For example, throwing 1 token and 3 fine lv76 gloves yields 8 Commendations. I encourage everyone to report their findings in regard to the number of Commendations received.
Then you take those Commendations to Lyns at Lion’s Court and get some items for them. 250-uses gathering items and salvage kits, Black Lions Keys and Lionsguard items – both skins (rares) and proper exotics.

2) This is the currently running meta-event.
Start it with talking to Ellen Kiel at Lion’s Court.
Go to the western beaches of LA (starting with Moran Memorial and going SW), pick up a crowbar and interact with all the debris found. Eventually you will find a soggy bag in one of the barrels. You might need to interact twice with one of the barrels to get the bag.
Take the bag back to Ellen.
Go to Blingg located by the Consortium House (one of the new PoIs in LA). He’s the annoying brat by the entrance to Fractals.
Receive the mail with the map and take it to Miyani (THIS STEP IS PROBABLY OBSOLETE), then take it to Caledon Forest – Hanto Trading Post.

This is as far as i got right now, as Noll is currently SO OCCUPIED i can’t even talk to him in order to proceed – in any way.
I heard we are supposed to go to Garrenhoff next. We also got a mail from Miyani pointing us at the three underwater races that might help us with the karka.

Someone feel free to take up from here and describe the next steps below.

The next step is to fight Cannach in Garrenhoff (Kessex Hills); he’s in one of the houses on the upper levels. Unfortunately he seems to be universally bugged.

I subdued Noll, but didnt have to chat to him. I got a mail with 3 new location leeds. Went to one in kessex which was bugged (no star npc), so I went to caledorn again and did a couple of handins for a Magic Scroll. On it is says to go back to LA to the head researcher and hand it in.

Im unable to do so. She doesnt acknowledge that I have the scroll and wont chat about it. The Noll step also reads incomplete altho I got a medal in the subdue event, and recieved the mail with the next step. – I lost interest after this. Its too annoying if the scroll says to hand it in at LA, then thats what Ill go do. If it requires that I do X,Y and Z first, then dont give me the scroll yet. – and leave me with no idea about X, Y and Z.

How to progress if you don’t have the map but already had the mail and received it… but somehow did not get it into the inventory(dissappeared)?
Only got that liquid drop of karma. After opening the mail… but that was not even in the mail. Don’t know why this appeard in my inventory instead of a map.

I swear this game needs an Orkin NPC… soooooo many bugs.

Okay. This still worked. Some other guys could make him attack(they probably had the map). And then I got progress to. Mail about/from that Canach. But he seems bugged now.

Event to kill him but he is neutral/green and not attackable. Instead possible to talk. But nothing that makes him attackable. Lots of people waiting there.

After this event, it’s time for Arenanet to beef up the Quality Assurance team! Seems that there are lot more bugged steps than working steps! Doh!

I’m hoping that they will be able to fix the bugs with a patch in the next few hours. My impression is that this phase of the event may only last 24 hours and if so, they need to somehow get all the steps working pretty soon before US prime time and before the EU goes to bed!

(Might also be a good time to stop worrying about event spoilers and get a public test server up and running to hash out these events before they go live)!

update: apparently you need the map to talk to someone in LA and he sends you on a boat to southsun and it comes out tomorrow. largos bugged on my server so dunno what to do with the 3 items until it gets fixed

Agreed on the public test server. Anet thinks it’s great to not have spoilers, but isn’t the fact that things are super laggy and bugged a huge disappointment? And isn’t disappointment far worse than spoilers? Just saying…

The mystic forge part isn’t as easy as it sounds. I’ve been trying different combinations and they aren’t working for me. Tried diff ingots and planks. Food only gives one token per combination; so not the best option. I don’t have any junk weapons. So right off the bat I’ve been unable to do anything.

Oh lol. Found that map… I accidentaly had minimized one of the bags lol. And did not notice it until now. With all that lags and other trouble and only useless stuff in that bag… really did not notice it was minimized. And wondering why other stuff I got did not appear in inventory and then looking closer and noticed it. ;-)

Subdirecter Noll is dead on DarkHaven. We’re all standing around waiting for him to reappear. Such wonderful times.

Everything is so bugged, I hope they extend this so we actually get a chance to complete it >.<

Some people are farming Noll as it is an event that spawn fast …
