Theres is no hints on what we are to do or what is going on. We just show up there and nothing happens, then rumours in the chat abouts some catapults, then I hear from chat we can go to harbour….

There is no structure on what the heck is going on.

Also it’s very annoying to wait around and wonder if things are finished, will something new start, did I miss something ETC… make some structure to theese events.

I seem to have taken the wrong turn on the island and missed the main event chain by following some other event that I thought belonged to it. Didn’t miss anything though I guess, the only thing that felt massive was the lag.

.

Near Sanctum Harbor Waypoint in Lion’s Arch. There is a transporter NPC near the boats/docks that will transport you to Southsun Cove. The battle against the karkas is on their land now.

I agree, I was wandering around aimlessly trying to figure out what was going on. There was no indication of what to do or where to go, time was wasted just looking at some catapult then I hear about the harbor and we all go to Southsun. I have no idea if I missed anything or if that’s what this event is all about.

EDIT: You get a mail which pinpoints the harbor location, but it’s still a tad difficult to figure out if you don’t pay attention. Next time I’ll make sure to keep an eye out for that random mail =P

Yeah fair enough, but then what? After the bridge is built everything goes confusing; where does the event continue? Is it over? Do we wait somewhere?

After 30 mins of running around like headless chickens an event to rebuild camp karka started and ended. Again, what now? Is it finished? Does it continue? No one has a frelling idea…

This is very frustrating, and honestly a shameful mess. Whatever PR/marketing value this weekend held has been reduced to breadcrumbs. I’d say it actually hurt Anets’ reputation at best.

I agree, this event is extremely confusing!

I have no idea what to do, i didn’t even do phase 1 because of the broken npc? So far for phase 2 I’ve just been running around aimlessly completing random quests on Southsun Cove, but now that I’ve died and tried to waypoint I cant even get back in the game.

Tomorrow’s event is likely where the cannons will break a hole into Bakestone Caverns. I think today’s event was just giving us access to the island and to explore.

I have to say this event is confusing. It’s fine if you want to make treasure hunts with mysterious clues, but let the NPCs repeat the dialogue that gives you the information. Sometimes you click by too fast or you forget or your cat walks onto the keyboard, etc. The info should not be a one-time thing.

The whole noon pst event failed. First it started a half hour late on the overflow I was on to end in less than 2 minutes after we killed a few peon karka. No vets or champs at all spawned. The DE ended no rewards to anyone. The one NPC we are told to talk to about the rift finally makes an appearance. Talking to him didn’t tell anything helpful. Then 15 minutes after that the boat and npc to travel showed up for some of us after everyone else disappeared from LA (got on the boat that was somehow not there for a select few of us). But that didn’t end the confusion as once you get to the island it isn’t clear if the event is over when you reach the camp karka wp and tons of us were rambling in chat about is that the end of the event for about half an hour while we ran around seeing if there was more to it. To conclude that must have been it but still feeling like we were missing something and if we log out we would miss out on more. And I still don’t know if there was more and if I now have missed stuff that won’t ever happen again.

The only decent thing to do now is auto complete this event for everyone it’s a total mess…

Phase 1 started with the worst lag I’ve ever experienced in any game along with disconnect after disconnect and has been followed by hours of running around like a headless chicken from bugged NPC to bugged NPC and now Noll has disappeared entirely when afaik he’s not worked once and was being fixed for the start of Phase 2 lol

I don’t see tomorrow going any better. Just auto complete it lets move on…

Phase 2 was VERY confusing. Still not sure if I missed something. Big fail. Maybe I’m just spoiled with WoW doing a good job of walking you through the steps.

I’m honestly not too sure how the start of the event could have been much more clear. The Lost Shores objective display in the upper right gave step by step instructions on where to go as things happened. NPCs and the harbor departure location were marked on the map..

What I agree on was confusing, and could have been done better, is how both the taking of Southsun Cove and defending Lion’s Arch from the Karka again with the new alchemical weapons happend at the same time.

I had no idea there was more to do in Lion’s Arch, as I followed the zerg on my Overflow, to Southsun. The initial event chain there, sweeping across the Island was a blast, if not somewhat hard to keep up with. (Lag galore, like I haven’t seen since yesterday’s cutscene Event.)

It’s sad but it’s true what you say.
Especially when the Grand Show failed really bad in front of all invited guests
(trial invited friends). I really wanted to convince my friends to buy this great game.

The catapult building thing was a bit strange. Would I be correct in thinking it was added to stagger the event timers across overflow servers, to stop them lagging?

When it got going on Aurora Glade the purple crab was up but unkillable as it kept resetting health. A lot of people were yelling to try to move it closer to the quest marker area on the map, but it wouldn’t move. Eventually I switched to an overflow server which had finished the event.

… Unless of course, it was bugged. On my end there where no step by step instructions (just that the lionguard was preparing weapons – it said exactly the same thing throughout the “event”), the NPCs just dissapeared, the Karka “event” started and ended in minutes followed by exactly nothing. No NPCs, no marked harbour location.

No offense, but I literally laughed at reading this.

I wasn’t aware some overflows or players were’t getting the objectives updated. So yeah, that’s a definite bug. Regardless, the map location for the harbor is there on every Overflow now, that isn’t suffering from the HP resetting karka champ.

I don’t see why you should be given a red mark where you are supposed to go or whatever else you feel there should be as indication. The NPCs shouted what was happening and you got a message explaining what to do and where to go.

That said, the captain taking you to the island is not showing on map as a golden star.

Wow, What a mess. I would much prefer a custom community event every 4-6 months instead of every month and have it be way more polished. I appreciate the effort but I do not like how cheesy, buggy, non-intuitive and un fun this event is. My issues:

-Player logs into game with email spam of 4 emails and after reading them is more confused about what to do than before. Condense event emails into one clear and consise email of where to go for a single event or npc that will start them off on a chain that explains things.

- LA dungeon instance is way buggy and un-fun. There are many issues with groups having to leave an instance because players are randomly booted to Lions Arch mid run and it is impossible to replace those members so it equates to time wasted. Fart on you Anet!

- The content of these LA Consortium instances is also annoying at best. Why do you feel you have to come up with lame puzzles all the time? There is a reason you put so many weapons and armor in this game and players want them. That reason is that fighting interesting cool looking bosses is fun. Puzzles are a fun break inbetween fights… but too many puzzles just equates to frustration.

- The player is immediately asked by the main LA event NPCs which of three options they would like to do to help? Why would I want to donate without knowing what I could get from the donations? You cannot find out what you can get until after you have event tokens or enter an instance. Boo!

- Many problems with event NPCs not able to be found or bugged. Boo!

Sorry Anet. Thanks for the effort but this feels rushed, bugged, improvised, and not fun. I would rather have less frequent but fun new community events and content than what you are providing.
