I would like to suggest that future achievements for, at least, living story content not be predicated upon the success or failure of an entire group of people like the chain event achievements currently are. No where in the description does it say that “upon successful event completion…” I appreciate the desire to get a community together for events, and I have had fun with this one, except the achievements part.

I would also like to suggest that it be looked into that downed state is not the same as death. Downed and successful without being hit by the marionette should have still counted. As well as some bug, I am not sure what causes it, where even if your entire chain was successful, you take 0 damage throughout (physical damage, no debuffs, what have you), and you do plenty of damage to get credit for the event, you do not get the achievement for it. My only guess as of right now is getting hit by the marionette in load, which really is a crock.

I have completed chain three nine times fully, successfully, without damage, and chain five four times(all times, a slow load which I can only attribute that the marionette hit me mid-load), and I am unsure how many times with downed status. I still have both of these achievements showing as incomplete and it really is infuriating as well as disheartening.

Got my achievements, but I agree that the achievement should be awarded when YOUR platform destroys the Regulator, not when the entire chain is severed.

Same, I get them all, but completely agree. I could even have accepted if it was contingent on the specific platform I was on succeeding. But not on the entire event that I have no control over what so ever.

Yep. I got all the others but warden 3 evade week ago and I have tried 3-5 times a day to get the one freaking last achievement but no, because my lane fails. I have tried questing, doing it on overflow and on my server, but no. My lane fails. So I have done it over 20 times, waited approx 1-2 HOURS everytime to wait on good server so I can get there and use 20 minutes to try to get it. But I just waste my freaking time on this. and no. My platform has killed it succesfully everytime and I have succesfully evaded it, but I have had such an luck that somebody fails it. This doesn’t bring me nearer to others, this just makes me hate these events. I have lost so so so many hours because one freaking platform cannot kill their champion and I lose my achievement over and over and over again.

Is this really how it should go? I know most are lucky and they get their achievements, but some of us are really unlucky.

and I get to do it only 3 times a day, BECAUSE I WORK!

I run from work to home, get to do it 3 times (that’s 6 hours) and then I have to sleep. And every freaking time it’s the same. And this goes away tomorrow.

I’m really really annoyed.

This isn’t about my own skills, but whole servers. And because the other people suck, I lose hours, because I. can’t. get. it. Really fun yeah?

If you have the time to do it that much I recommend guesting. I know TC usually 5 for 5s it, so you’re almost guaranteed it.

Also, are we certain it goes away tomorrow. It’s only been two weeks. Most major events are a month with an overlap after two weeks.

Guesting works for the marionette, but no one is doing triple trouble any more. Got all the achievements except the heads, but there’s never anyone on any server to guest, even at night. Guess those who got the heads will never return. Reminds me of tequatl.

There are most likely some guilds that are all about it, just have to find them. Since the Wurm is permanent content you have until the end of forever to work on it, just like Tequatl.

Stuff like dodge achievements definitely shouldn’t be dependent on other players, I agree with that 100%. Its just too much dependency for something that should be a personal achievement. If you can literally have next to zero affect on the other players (as is the case with platforms, outside of a bit of healing if the player stands near the wall) then the achievement shouldn’t have anything to do with those players. I dodged the Marionette attacks, I helped my group take down the champ I was fighting, that should be it. It shouldn’t require the random group 30 feet away clearing their champ as well. I have nothing to do with that, so why should my personal achieve hinge on them?

The downed thing should probably go as well, since I think its already hectic enough trying to beat the warden and avoid the marionette that you don’t need that extra restriction of not getting downed as well. Its not nearly as bad as the “full event clear” requirement since its at least still entirely based on your own skill, though, so I’m not as adamantly opposed to it. However, IF they want to keep it, then they really need to list it in the achievement blurb. Just add “without getting downed” to the description, easy peasy. No need to have cryptic requirements that you’d never know without reading the forum or talking to people in-game.

To be fair, you don’t need them to complete the meta. As such they’re not meant to just be give aways, like the meta is. I don’t agree with it, but I can at least see the idea being that they’re for individuals in servers that can come together, not just for anyone who happens to show up and be able to get through it.

The problem is there are people who are completionist. These types of people can be very frustrated if they can’t get the stuff done because its unreasonable. These specific achievements are simply RNG. It really isn’t hard to dodge anything but to relay on a lot pugs is. To me that isn’t really even achievement, the /cheer isn’t anything special, maybe put in for fun yes and I won’t mind but stuff like the dodge is stupid. Now the pirate girl where you had to NEVER get hit during the whole time by cannons was a real achievement. Some of these like the last 2 you dodge once and then hide in the corner and kill the boss.

Achievements should either be fun or actually require you to do something. However the main issue is the 2 week period.

I actually found the cheer to be the hardest one to complete. I couldn’t type fast enough to cheer before the cut scene, and if I ended the cut scene prematurely it teleported me to the chest and I still couldn’t do it. I ended up having to make a macro on my Naga to do it with one button. That’s no fun.

The rest of them I got with perseverance and paying attention in Overflows. Though I finally got the last one on my home server.

Four week period. LS events are four weeks long every two weeks. Sometimes the events that show up two weeks in are only for the remaining two weeks, but generally it’s four weeks every two.

Yep, total ripoff. Two weekends for people with jobs, other responsibilities – especially with all the issues around this event – is pretty poor service, IMO.

Honestly I don’t have fun with this game anymore because of the achievements. I spend most of my time and I mean hours trying to get this laundry list done rather then just enjoy the content and have fun. LS story should be about story, more focus on that and less on the laundry list.

Yes I can choose to ignore them but that also bothers me because I like to complete things too. * sigh *
