Preparation: We need 25 players on each path, at least (to have 5 in each room in phase 2).

Phase 1: We need to defend the red portals in all 5 paths. Keep preventing enemies to reach the portals or the fail bar is filled slowly. You can use the robot near portal with skill 2 to fire up all enemies nearby the portal as last stand. When one of the portals becomes availible (order is from bottom to top one), that path players enter phase 2, the other paths will still be fighting still in phase 1.

Phase 2: The entire phase 2 lasts 90 seconds only. ALL the players in the open portal path must enter the portal, you’ll be spread into 5 rooms with a champion enemy. Kill the champion AND destroy the generator quickly after that. Each chain champions are different and i got covered a few of them.
-1st chain champs can’t be hit from the front. Someone tank and others hit in the back.
-2nd chain champs are inmune to damage unless we move them to Mines that they drop, that stuns them and we can hit.
-3rd chain are big nightmare enemies that spins around. They can 1shot people if too close.
-4th champ are doggies that never move from center and they make big area attacks. Move away from all areas.
-5th champ split into 4-5 enemies, you need to group them up and kill them faster together.
-I still need to check all other 3 champs, any help to fill this section?

If phase 2 fails, the fail bar is filled a 25% (allowing you 3 fails). If you suceed, 1 chain is broken. Once phase 2 is done, that path group goes back to defense and another different path is open to complete their own phase 2.

Final Thoughs
We think this is over when all 5 paths suceed the phase 2, destroying the chains 1 by 1. However, it seems that a path might just fail and then another path can complete their side twice in order to destroy all chains. That i’ll work since you need to destroy just 5 chains but you are allowed to have 3 fails attempts. (8 fights to destory chains if no enemies fill the fail bar and defending is done perfectly).

And have the players spread out evenly across all paths, I see so many stack at the PvE commanders.. Have a player check before the 5min timer is up so there is a good even number on all sides. And WP if/when dead, but that should be a given tbh.

Yeah we were in an overflow server giving good directions each 2-3 minutes. We destroyed 1 chain, the failed 2, then destroyed 2 more, then 2 more chains failed and then wipe. This is why now i’m trying to research about champs special skills in the paths that i did not do, because not knowing how to deal with them it’s what wiped us.

The Champ affixes are based on the Chain Phase, not Lane.

The First Chain, Phase will always be the front immune champion, the second will always be the spinning Champion, and so on.

Above description is close to how it worked. 5 chains need to be broken and if one of the 5 fails then a new round starts again at the first path. It is done once all 5 chains are broken. Be aware though that in the “2nd round” phase 2 was a lot tougher than during the 1st round: in addition to the champ we also had to fight some adds in the second round of phase 2. So best to get 5 out 5 the first round.

That makes sense, thanks for the tip. Any idea what the chain 3-4-5 champs are/do?

I haven’t had a chance to attempt Phase 3 onwards yet, as either Phase 2 is way to over tuned for what it is, or people are just that bad at kiting a slow moving mob into big glowing red circles.

I’m not kidding when I say that my platform is usually the first, and often times only, platform to complete the phase because I’m the one doing the kiting. And since there’s no way for me to help other players kite theirs, there’s not much I can do other than yell at them to stop being horrible at kiting.

Same happened to me, i was watching how the guys in the platform next to me kept running away randomly like little girls with a bee in the back…

For Phase 1 the one thing I noticed on the two tries I have been able to get to was few to no people manning what siege there was available to defend the path up to the portals. I hopped on the upper Arrow Cart and pretty much decimated anything in the upper areas. It was my understanding from others that there was other siege placed along the defense areas that could be utilized to great effect (think WvW on those). Have folk jump on those, have couple to protect them and assign couple of folk to get the wrenches as necessary to repair the defenses and assign the rest of the folk to attack what is coming and you should have one heck of a defense until the portals open.

Phase 2 maybe have a first response team that stays at the top to go in and start with the others following once the portal opens.

The first attempt we did not take down the champ in phase 2 but the second time we were able to kite ours down while avoiding the damaging circles and eventually get the generator out for our circle.

Bottom line is if you die in the circle you are dead…if you try to rezz someone you are dead as well. So kite, kite, kite and hope others get into the portal to help.

This is definitely going to be trial and error until we figure it out.

I was on an overflow from EBay and we got to the 5th portal boss set. It starts with 1 relatively easy champ which we dropped in seconds, then it spawned 2. Then 3 or 4 which we also killed. Timer ran out and there were 5 or 6 of them running around the platform. I can’t speak for all the other platforms but when I looked near the end of the timer, the other platforms were all wiped. I’m not convinced DPS is the solution here since we were dropping the champs pretty quickly and it just wasn’t enough.

Edit: EBay just completed it and I was stuck in an overflow! Turns out the solution is just DPS.

So… 5th set of enemies is actually 5-6 champs?

Tips:
1. Have people fighting on the platforms to scream out in map chat if they need more people so people can jump lanes provided their Sickness timer is out. The Sickness debuff is about 4-5minutes.

2. Have one person per lane/path carry the repair hammer and repair barricades when down, the repair box will eventually dissappear thus one person need to have it at all times.

3. You can leave the golem suit to regain HP and go on the golem again with full HP.

I think the simplest way to kill the spinning champion that is invulnerable unless it touches one of its own bombs is to pop group stability and have everyone melee it.

This champion does a spinning attack which knocks players back and then spins towards whoever has aggro. As it travels during the spin, it drops bombs/mines, and is invulnerable to attacks during the spin. Only by making it touch one of its bombs/mines (usually by kiting) does it get stunned and become open to attacks.

By popping stability, your group will not be knocked back and the champion will spin in place (since everyone stays in place), dropping its bomb/mine on itself and instantly getting stunned.

Generally when in doubt, just melee the champ, and from behind if u don’t have aggro.

We just wiped in the 3rd chain champions, the big ones that spin around and kill players. We will try to Range them, however it’ll be great if someone can tell us how to kill 4rd and 5th.
