Once you have the completed journal, and have acquired 50 cores to create the key to get into the lair, is there any reason to hang on to new fragments and cores you might get?

Yes, I did mean journal fragments. I was still getting them. I think because I put my finished book in the bank, they kept giving me new pieces from the chests.

they are not from the chests. They are in the room. If you hold Ctrl, you will see them on the tables, etc. When you press F, you just interact with them before the chest. If you target the chests, you will be able to loot chest without getting jourmal fragments.

I don’t think you get any more fragments of the journal. For cores, no. I’m a life-long packrat (I still have things like the candy meter and low-end Mad King’s Memoires backpiece), but I sold off my excess cores. You can get back into the lair any time once you’ve opened it.

Oh, by fragments I thought you meant journal fragments. If you mean the cypher bits from fighting marionette, yes, hold on to those! Every 25 becomes a key to a chest full of goodies in the lair.

If you plan to enter the lair with more than one character, then you will need to collect more cores. 50 cores for each character you’d like to go into the lair. For example, I originally collected cores with my elementalist while leveling that with friends and went into the lair, etc. But, then I realized all that loot would be better served with one of my 80s and breaking it down into higher level crafting mats. So, I went to the lair with my 80 and found I needed to get 50 more cores (fortunately, I already had 29).
