Before I get cypher pieces from all my ’Scarlet’s Spare Key’ bags, has anyone noticed better loot coming from a particular chest type?

I’d be shocked if that were the case, but just checking – thanks!

I think Scarlet’s chest might have the best loot because the cipher is made of less common fragments. I also found a recipe in it for the satchel of zealot exalted armor for tailors from it.

Yeah I wondered about that too, because it’s the only one you can’t get from the spare key pouches.

You’ll want to get one of each to get the journal. But other than that I didn’t notice an appreciable difference.

For each I got a rare, a few masterwork and a rare salvage item.

You can get pristine spore samples from the Toxic one, and you get salvage scrap metal appropriate to the chest. I did salvage a watchwork scrap, I got some sprockets, whee. I’ve sold all the other salvage scraps. Also you can get more cypher pieces! So if you’re close to another key, don’t use up your Spare Key pouches until you’ve opened all the chests you can, it might affect which type of cypher you want to open up with the Spare Key.

Make sure to have bag space and salvage kits when you go in, there really is a lot in the chests.

toxic’s the most reliably valuable with what the samples are going for

the watchwork/aetherblade salvageables give charged cores/lodes (and onyx from watchwork), but not as reliably worthwhile as the samples

scarlet’s personal may well have the better/only chance at zealot/keeper’s/moamech, since you can’t pile spare keys into them like the rest

watchwork/aetherblade is the way to go, then
