This is my biggest gripe about this living story.

I killed the five champion types, but I didn’t get awarded any achievement credit for it. The reason is because EVERY GROUP has to succeed in your lane in phase 2 in order for credit to be given. So these achievements do not depend on your ability to succeed, they depend on other people. This means that they can be griefed, and this means that these achievements are simply impossible if you get even a couple unskilled players in your lane who ruin a power regulator phase.

This is bad design. An achievement should never depend on someone other than the player themselves doing something. Maybe a small group effort, at most, like the dungeon achievements from the Aetherblade and Molten Facility dungeons, but not something open world that can be griefed like this. This is totally uncool, and I implore others who share my distaste for this style of achievement progress to post here for ANet’s feedback.

I will remark that other than the poor achievement progression structure, I find this one of the best living story segments I’ve ever participated in. I absolutely love the fight, and I love that there is room for personal skill in phase 2.

Very frustrating. I am also now 5/5 on the champs, still only at 1/5 for credit though.

Just to save you some time copying my post :

This fight is starting to get very frustrating.

I have done this event 4 times. I have killed 4/5 of the different regulators and dodged his attacks in every fight.

I have credit for only 1 of those achievements, because every other time the other platforms failed.

Am I expected to fight this boss 100 times? I CANNOT at all control how the other platforms do on easy boss fights.

Why are we not getting credit for things we DID do, just because another group of people failed to do the same thing?

The downside to other people failing their platform should be not getting the chain cut, and failing the event. Not losing out on your achievements."

Yup the achievements are done kitten-poor in this update… Same for the probes stuff.
You need to collect 40, I just worked (and I really mean worked, cause there is no enjoyment at all in just waiting there) 30mins for 3 of those corres.

They had me hyped with their trailers, the bosses are very fun, but the achievements ruin it so much for me…

Then explain to other players. Think of it as an achievement for your skill of EXPLAINING to other. I managed to complete it (after 4 events), despite having to rely to other players.

I did explain it. A dozen time in 5 attempts now.

I can’t kittening play the game for them. If someone else is bad, don’t understand english, doesn’t care, messed around on purpose, has his map chat turned off… there’s nothing I can kittening do about it.

They could let us switch platforms to assist others, we did our part with hardly 4, and the other group got 6 unorganized players that failed miserably (3 got downed at once).
