we didn’t get the giant earthquake or rise of the destroyers like most predicted but I get the feeling this is only the first part to a series of living stories till scarlet dies/defeated. after all from what I can see we’ve only got the clockworks and toxic attacking right now. Imagine Aether pirates and molten alliances are up next in the assault.

1 thing does make me hope for an elder dragon. That voice, when I hear it I instant thought “dragon!”

well another part you left out was the champion giant wurm queen like the one beginng of norn hunt! i will wait and see what coming out in the next patch

It been said already that we don’t know the purpose for those “thumpers” yet, the wurm just happens to come to surface because of them.

Kinda makes the depths of Tyria more and more interesting for me.

I kinda saw that as the toxic part of the invasion actually. other wise it looks to be straight clockworks who is attacking.

The dwarves have all been turned to stone and are fighting the destroyers – there is not a lot to discover there since none of them would hold a conversation with you and they would be the exact same dwarves we met in GW1….

It seems like the wurm will be a new tequatl. and about the story, it seems a little the same: problems caused by sacarlet and we need to fight against them. Hopefully we really discover something else, something deep on her plots.

So according to WP who had some contact with the devs, the UFO-like thing controlling the giant Scarlet-bot will be important for further development of the story.
Does that mean we’re going to the orbit of Tyria? xD Those “Scarlet Moonbase” comments may not have been that far off. ..

The voice in the trailer is nothing but at cool voice. It’s not an elder dragon or some entity with high powers. It’s just a cool voice. Wooden Potatoes told us that in his recent video.

Yeah, a shame, though if ANet’s resourceful they might hopefully bring the voice actor back to play a more important role as well as somehow make it seem as if the trailer voice wasn’t just a cool voice. It’s a hope.

I personally disagree with WP that it is “just” a voice actor because the narrator uses the term “you” AND “she”. He/It never says “Scarlet”.

A proper narrator would identify the subject (Scarlet) being the distant narrator, and a proper narrator wouldn’t identify you. That’s why I think this is an in-game narrator “talking” to “you”.

Yeah, WP takes some hearsay and runs with it. WP says a Massivly author said on Reddit that the devs said… uh huh. I can’t even find the Reddit post.

The dialogue and voice acting in the video actually made me think that the voice was warning players, and seemed too beneficent for a dragon, unless one of the six dragons is actually friendly, which seems unlikely.
