2 weeks ago, I had no clue where to go to access it, only a letter telling me to go to LA, at which point nothing happened. Today I ask around about if there some spot I go to interact to get in, and there’s nothing where they said it would be.

Why can’t all the content of a living story persist as long as the achievements themselves do? Doesn’t that make keeping LS around for 4 weeks kind of pointless, if you can’t feel any security that you won’t miss random elements of it if you don’t log in during the first 2 weeks?

I have the same issue as OP. I had to skip a couple weeks for work related issues, but came back only to find out that even after completing the marionette event I am unable to access the story instance. Is this intended? I feel bad that I was able to miss out on this content, and don’t understand why it was removed even though the living world content itself is still available in the achieves panel.

The NPCs moved from LA. They are not there anymore so the instance also can’t be there…

Too bad, I didn’t managed to be in any Marionette defeat.

Maybe they put a video or summary somewhere else. But I hope this time there is no big event win requisite to access the summary.

There are two reasons. The story instance has no achievement associated with it, and it’s gone for the same reason Destiny’s Edge 2.0 isn’t hanging around the Marionette anymore. They’ve moved on to the new story parts for this update.

The story is Living, meaning it continues to move forward even if activities remain behind to entertain us.

You didn’t need to defeat Marionette, participation was enough. In fact I believe you could go there without even going near the bosses – it just wasn’t clear enough in the game that you could do so.

Still not sure if it needed to go away though. One of the advantages in instances is that they can ignore the flow of time in a game/story.

Fantastic, so I didn’t even need to try it the last times ^^

Is the Secret Lair also accessible somewhere if I participated but didn’t defetaed the Marionette? I was under strong assumption that you need to defeat that event to access both the story and the lair.

Here’s a tip for the future:

All living story objectives are marked on the map. They can either have the gold star/asterisk or the gold star/asterisk on a scroll.

Before EOTM you could go to the lair at any time regardless of boss participation (I presume it is still accessible). You need 50 of the keys from the thumper thingys around the world if they are still obtainable. Without the story instance you will probably need to look up the exact location of her lair since the living story pointer will have gone now.

Participation was only necessary to put a marker for the lair on your map. The lair itself was always accessibly if you have enough power cores.

I am sure that if there was an achievement tied to the instance, they would not have removed it regardless of the flow of time, to avert the impending outpour of player rage. But since there was no achievement, they were kind of like, “meh”. But I heard it was some seriously quality exposition, and am sad to have missed it for once. At least someone’s put it on YouTube.

You didnt need to beat the Marionette to enter the instance btw. Just participate.

Over a year and the forum search is still broken = /

It was, I wish I’d done it with a Charr so I could find out if Rytlok has more to say if it’s someone he actually respects.

I did it with my Charr. Rytlok had slightly different dialogue when you first talked to him (something about being far away from home, which you replied “you are as well”) and one other dialogue regarding Rox that I can’t quite remember the specifics of, but then it basically just went into the exact same dialogue all other characters get about your character “spying” for her and that he’s kitten her to build her up.

Rox herself had an extra dialogue option for Charr players as well. Basically just a short discussion about how Braham doesn’t understand Charr ideals and the idea of warbands. It also slightly changed her other dialogue option (the one all races get) about whether joining the warband would mean not seeing her again, but the changes were pretty minor on that.

could just watch a video on you tube about it. I,m sure someone posted it. What is the value of watching it through your characters eyes vs. someone else?

Exactly, this is the way to experience games these days. Go to youtube. There’s your game. Why would anyone possibly want to waste their time in game for that easily youtubed stuff.

Wait…what?

It’s a kitten conspiracy. Kittens gonna be kittens. All is vain!
