Wild Scarlet's Defeat Speculations
non-confirmable i heard 1/30 people guessed the conclusion
and that the people who did not guess, ‘said they were crazy’
i also read, ‘confirmed’ that living story wasn’t optimally implemented
so if we don’t have a good guess now, we should wait until next week
also, wvw is lovely.. i hope my server gets more mists defenders
she creates a new race, the scarlets. All members of this race have the exact same appearance, and they can infect other races to become scarlets. All scarlets are perfect and extremely good at everything, so in 1 week all GW will be only populated by perfect scarlets.
The resistance is futile
Anyone else got one for the list? Remember, Colin said everyone told the people who guessed it right that they couldn’t possibly be right, so go ahead and say anything ridiculous.
Here’s a one in a million prediction for you.
Kiel is Scarlet in disguise / the mastermind behind her.
she came from the future and she want to control tyria cuz in the future its destroyed cuz of lack of leadership wen all the dragons came and destroyed it
rich, the pale tree remembers her birth, she’s not from the fut- you know what, with all the lore contradictions and whatnot, she just might be
Kiel Replacement Movement
every “crazy theory” has been debunked, ive heard them all, but going with how anet screwed up lore by making the most xenophobic race ive ever known team up with another race anything is possible, after being accused of being crap story writers im sure theyll screw over the lore to try and mind**** you -______-
i can see it already, scarlet will be an anti-villain and woooah big shock she ended up helping us ohhhh my god

I’ve been tryin to speculate crazier the past few days for the simple reason it can’t be what it seems to be – that would be too obvious and logical. So while trying to find other things, i saw that…
http://de.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1v96de/an_old_artwork_by_daniel_dociu/
and suddenly everything got crystal clear. I basically saw the eternal alchemy
Scarlet saw that the dragons are a needed evil to balance magic – without them Tyria drifts into chaos. There is no chance to survive against them if you aren’t allowed to defeat them either (balance etc.). So the only option would be to stop the dragons from the start – cancel out “excess magic” so they never awake. It’s not that far fetched that scarlet found a way to time travel. We also know her marionette in lornars pass is just a test. So here is what happens
Scarlet uses the thumpers to suck energy off the leylines in order to jump back in time. It’s the only way she can stop the destiny of sylvari and overcome the seemingly insurmountable challange of balancing (see What Scarlet saw). If other Sylvari knew their destiny is to create inbalance in magic, they’d wake up screaming from the dream. So thump thump time to jump. You get it.
Where to travel back to? Isn’t it obvious? Excess magic was handed out by Abaddon back before he fell. Scarlet goes to the Fall of Abaddon – not his defeat in Nightfall mind you, but before that – where she would try to take down Abaddon before he could screw things up. Maybe she tries to absorb his power much like Kormir did in order to survive while tyria burns later. To defeat him she uses the marionette – devoted to become the best, learn the most and free herself from the chains of destiny.
I suppose the player will somehow stop her before she succeeds, maybe with “toxic magic” like against Zhaitan, making her dissolve painfully across time and space as we travel back into present without her. Nonetheless her thumping woke primo and we get Tengu and fight him with them buuuuut – in the next Arc.
Simple and crazy enough?
Scarlet saw that the dragons are a needed evil to balance magic – without them Tyria drifts into chaos. There is no chance to survive against them if you aren’t allowed to defeat them either (balance etc.).
I was thinking something similar but with an alternative outcome.
With Zaithan defeated, Scarlet saw in the Ethernal Alchemy that Tyria would have fall into choas. So she needed to understand:
1 – where magic concentrates;
2 – how to collect it;
3 – how to channel it in a new recipient (which should formally take Zaithan’s place);
4 – how to seal the new recipient.
Thanks to her mentioned studies in the three colleges in Ratasum, Scarlett located some of the places where magic is collected on Tyria (the “do not touch” pumps built thanks to the Molten Alliance).
The marionette will be used to collect magic from these places (thanks to the information she got from the Thaumanova Reactor). The mechanical tree in the Aetherblade path of TA was the prototype for the marionette. However, in the other TA paths the Nightmare Tree is a recipient for Laurent/Vevina/Fyonna. In order to use its power, people need to be absorbed by the tree itself. Scarlett will channel the magic collected by the marionette in her own body becoming a sort of new Zaithan (thanks to the experiments from the Nightmare Tower).
Scarlett purpose is not to rule Tyra but to bring it on balance again. Since she knows that channelling magic will make her lose control of her mind and body, she worked with the mentioned new asura npc on a project for sealing herself (we might have seen how she learned about the sealing process if Abaddon’s fractal would have been selected).
Our task will be to help the new asura npc to seal Scarlett forever. She knows she can not awake like the dragons are doing because that will destory Tyria’s balance again.
Of course the eventual awaking of the other dragons will create again chaos througout Tyria… but that is an issue which other people will have to deal with.
Does this sounds crazy enough?
(edited by Bau Bau.7389)
That would explain how scarlet could have been involved in both vote fractal options.
scarlet is a timelord lord reincarnated into a plant, her TARDIS basically travels through the mist and is able to find points in time, thats how she would have been able to be in the abaddon fractal
Kiel Replacement Movement
I don’t know @Bau Bau – i have a few major concerns about this and reasons for my crazy idea /o/
1) Scarlet would know people kill other dragons, she has to actually burn present tyria to the ground while enabling herself to survive AND fix the balance. Otherwise the pact would go kill some dragon and nothing comes out of this. As you said that’s chaos again. I don’t think Scarlet would plan this considering she is meant to be super intelligent – too big the chance to fail. Or you mean she wanted to be sealed, being the loser in all of this? Idk…
2) I think everyone neglects to consider that they used a Metronome to deliver the poem. Why a metronome? There are hints throughout all the world that all religions are somehow intertwined (however lorefriendly to gw1 that is is not point the discussion though). Something true and something twisted to every single “religion”. All play together in a symphony of harmony and balance though. Just like Tyria itself. So Tyria is a symphony, races, gods and everything are instruments playing their tunes to create it. What is a Metronome? Time itself.
3) I personally like to think the linked tapestry of devotion is a retconned nod to events before GW1 we will now see. Yes it’s retcon, but it would be quite cool i guess. If you’re going to do it you might as well do it in a fun way.
Lastly, that male asura will simply help us to follow her into the past imo
Well, it was just an idea; it does not mean it will be like that, hahaha.
Scarlett, may still consider herself “super-intellinget” as you wrote since she is the only one fixing the mess the Pact did (killing Zaithan); or at least dealing with its consequences.
Although I would not call her “loser” especially in relation to the religions you mentioned. Are not they filled with people who “sacrifice” themselves for the sake of others? My idea of self sealing was not “she seals herself because she wants;” but more “she knows she has to seal herself because there are not other ways.”
By the way, only the developers know the true so far. We can just speculate
(edited by Bau Bau.7389)
Ofc only they know – i can accept scarlet thinking she does the right thing, but not fathom she actually does /o/ not to mention that if they make her die a matyr for something good and erect a permanent statue in her memory they will kitten off most people. xD
I really hope they will never erect a statue either.
Most people on the forum seems to not like Scarlett, so maybe making her die to save Tyria may drive a bit of hate away from her.
Making her a martyr does not seems to fit at all in the story shown so far. Scarlett seems to be driven by angry mainly. Even is she may sacrifice herself to save Tyria, I think she will make people pay for what they (and especially the Pact) have done. Maybe that is why she has no problems in openly testing her works here and there without taking care of the consequences. They will be painful for sure but, in the long run, they will not mess up Tyria’s balance like the death of a Dragon can do.
Out of topic, thanks Leonie for the exchange of ideas
" Some dropped like autumn leaves, slowly drifting down to root level. There they stood, stretched, and then set out into the void, disappearing as they cleared the spreading canopy. Some never made it that far, staggering, falling, and withering within the shade of the great tree.
Disappointment soured Ceara’s fascination. Was this it, then? Were the lives of all sylvari so easily encapsulated? Birth, travel, experience, death, all played out under the dictates and philosophies of the godlike entity that created them?
She refused to accept that. Everything she had learned said that no system, no matter how complex, can perpetuate itself indefinitely. Those that did not evolve inevitably failed. "

Now let’s think about this point. Probably she tries to change and empower some races evolution for what she saw in the eternal alchemy (if it was the true eternal alchemy). probably the Pale Tree wanted to stop her because she can see only a little part of the entire picture.
During her attack to the Queen Jubilee evryone of us thought that she wanted to hit the queen and steal the human tecnology. But think about where she attacked: at the botton of the great collapse. And now a lot of her machines are slaming the ground around Tyria.
I don’t think she is a dragon minion, probably she is tring to break the rules, but to make it, empower some races or make some ibrids is not enough, probably she need something under our feet. Where dwarfs and Primordus. From the first we know they have a lot of knowloge, and from the second we know scarlet studied a lot about dragon energy.
Probably her goal is to change the base of the things in the eternal alchemy, and to make it she needs a lot of stuffs and knowloge. Will she make it? Probably partly, and the aftermath of it will make a lot of moves in Tyria.
Did I miss anything?

So basicly… the matrix.
Mr Anderson i presume
You can also at Steam Creatures to the list! Anyways Id like to know how ArenaNet got the result that one out of every 20000 is correct. There may be some thruth but I am very sceptical about this form of hyping. Also when they say: people think “thats way too cool” it is from a developers point of view and they were also hyping the big reveal with th jubilee which was nothing more than: Hey look these random alliances have a connection to eachother after all! We will see, we will see…
If Anet throws in time travel to this Scarlet fiasco I’m quitting this game for good.
Still think (hoping) its number 1: She’s a dragon minion. Mordemoth has invaded her dream state during the eternal alchemy visit and basically sent her on a wild rampage to awaken him or something like that.
8. She’s was replaced by a demon during the The Eternal Alchemy experiment. ( https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/lore/lore/Theorycrafting-on-Scarlet/page/5#post3498414 )
9. Her mind was corrupted (mind-warp) by a demon during the The Eternal Alchemy experiment. ( http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Rukkassa / https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/lore/lore/Theorycrafting-on-Scarlet/3499395 )
10. She is something to do with a demon that has not been explained in the lore yet.
Her behaviour is EXACTLY word-for-word in line with what a demon (according to GW lore) behaves like. Edit: Er, http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Demon
Epistemic.8013: Guys this is bullkitten a sentient plant creature is hitting these
wooden doors with fireballs and it’s working.

Maybe she was replaced by Lazarus who was hiding his essence in … somewhere? after his body was destroyed.
Scarlet IS the Pale Tree.

Why would you quit? Time Travel has been part of GW2 since day 1. The Infinity Ball sequence of the personal story is all about time travel.
I know it’s already on the list but my guess is she’s a dragon minion.
All of the dragons (seen so far) have been shown to have the power to take over and corrupt vulnerable minds and/or bodies. I think when she went into the asuran machine that opened her mind up to the Eternal Alchemy it actually made her vulnerable to one and they’ve taken her over.
I also think she doesn’t know it, she genuinely believes everything she’s doing is of her own free will and she’ll be as shocked as anyone to find that’s not the case. If she’s even still alive at that point.

So guys, Colin said that one out of every bajillion people guessed the general way this whole deal ends, but he also said everyone else was mostly deriding them. So that means it has to be one of those ideas that people see as unlikely..
TBH all this says to me is that the explanation is so outlandish, lore incongruent & ridiculous that most people see that possibility it as a deus ex & totally contrary to what we’ve been told. While there is a chance it’s really cleaver the last time something like that happened was Abbadon & how they hooked him into everything.
Unfortunately, with all the retcons & “evolution” they’ve had with the previous stories, we now know that anything that happened or was said to have happened in GW is completely up for grabs, with little care as to how well it fits with the rest of the story or even if it’s good. It’s just a matter of “does it fit the real world personal preferences of the particular writer”.
I was so excited back when it was thought that the Queens Jubilee would actually tie in to the Asura Infinity Ball story. It made sense, had lead up, was consistent… then: Scarlet..

Colin has a bad habit of exaggerating.
I suspect a lot more people have gotten it right than he’s admitted and the people saying “No, they wouldn’t do that, it’s too cool!” (or whatever the actual quote is) were actually a lot more cynical. Like people saying Anet have forgotten all about the dragons and won’t ever include them.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
She infects the pale tree to become somewhat like the nightmare tower
Thumpers…. thumpers… what could thumpers be calling…“They call me thumper”… Ah! it all makes sense now~ who else would Thumper call for but his best friend? Its confirmed! the next elder dragon to make his appearence is Bambi! the dragon of good will, life, and nature, oddly shaped like a 50 foot juvinal deer. Scarlet realized the dragons are needed for balance, but keeping them around doesn’t bode well for us, so- she decided to summon a benevolent dragon to repair the shattered equalibrium! thus forever changing the face of tyria!

I know, but
a) it’s the cheapest possible writing tool to bail out after painting yourself into a corner, and
b) it would cause more inconsistencies and paradoxes, which we already have in abundance when Scarlet is concerned.
To me, this would be the final confirmation that Anet’s writers suck and that next year’s living story is going to be just as bad as this year.
I think that Scarlet is really just a new model of asura golems built by none other than…… SNAFF! It’s revealed that he never died! :-O And all of these armies, Aetherblades, Molten Alliance, Toxic Alliance are all for the single purpose of killing Logan!!!!! Snaff is angry, Snaff is very angry that Logan just left him to die, time for Snaff’s revenge!!!!!!!!!!!
