Yep can confirm this. TXS was trying to do it and nothing the npc was standing there doing nothing.
Bugged in an overflow as well (EU server)

Same issue on Underworld, guildies have mentioned it also hit the overflows.

Well he started to move again, then immediately ran back to the first beach and is standing there, totally not bugged at all.

Pretty much this. NPC AI is tricky in any game, and when you take something as large as GW 2 and try to run each event on the different servers in sync on a timer.
There’s likely to be some sort of behavioral issues. Too bad it blocks the attempt and that it happened during primetime

Why are escort quests even a thing, who has ever in their life said “Oh I enjoy escort quests”… no one.
Ditto for Isle of Janthir at Jelaco beach part bugged. Other two were completed. Must be the bottle of rum on the beach….he doesn’t want to leave it…..

Same here wurm is bugged and can’t finish quest. Crusader Xutt stopped in the middle of quest he will fight enemies but will not finish quest.

What they really need is failsafes. Like have code in place so that if an NPC is meant to take X amount of time to reach a destination, and if for ANY reason he doesn’t reach that destination in, say, X+10% or so, then they should just teleport him automatically to the target location.
I completely agree, a default pass if there’s a bug is not as bad as being stuck forever if there’s a bug.

Maybe not teleport him automatically, but add a dialog option after this time. This way the event can only continue if players are around.
