Shh let the SEA folks that carry DB have their fun. They gotta do something when its all green!

Must be borringg for SEA folks at their primetime, theres hardly anyone! Do they take objectives and hope someone try to come take it? Do they even want to bother to defend or do they hope for more karma?

I thought now would be the best time to post as our threads will soon be gone.

Mister and I have had a lovely time bringing entertainment to the match up threads we have participated in. We’ve enjoyed the company of all of you and are rather sad it is coming to an end. We’ve met a lot of great people through here and wish Anet would reconsider their want to close down the match up sub form. But alas, it is their game, what more can we do.

As for us moving to the new forum, this will not be happening. The Mister and I are all for less moderation in forums, but in the way of razzing/smack talk. I had the misfortune to view the new site, I was bombarded by a lewd photo that caused great disgust among the BUNS group. As the Mister and I (As well as the rest of BUNS) are very much against such things, we shall have no part in this new forum.

We’ll still be kicking it up in game and on our personal blog.

Match up thread antics will be very missed.

What is there to complain about? Each server has its own type of coverage and skill level. Neither of the 3 servers in this match up has guilds or zergs that are steam-rolling others 24/7. So theres really nothing to brag and/or whine about. Ebay, Ioj we know that there are better match ups for you guys to make it more fair. Dragonbrand players should also know that as well that we can get more challenges with different match ups.

so move the kitten on and be happy about the fights that we can dish out and have fun.

Nah, I tried commanding in Eb and basically it’s a witch hunt lol, flip a few things and before you know it you got blob chasing you around the map and you gotta do silly things like run into duri to port then quickly flip mends before they catch on you’re not hiding in the tower lol

I had a lot of fun fighting with Void, Zod from Eb and Hard and Mend on Ioj throughout the weekend. Great fights guys!

on DB we went with 25 man groups taking objectives and after wiping similar sized opponents all of a sudden you got 50-60 man zergs hunting you across the map…. so there is no server who has the higher ground in this arguement

its kinda how this game is played.. unfortunately NA has larger population than Euro servers so zergs are the way to go, and who has biggest wins.. Euro servers may suit you better if you like more advanced small group tactics. God knows we have tried to go that way a few times during the season (smaller groups with multiple objectives) but found we would get steamrolled by huge server zergs… so we go with what works

as for those who complain about our SEA people steamrolling while others sleep, I don’t hear you complaining when you do the same during euro prime when DB has maybe 10 people on each map… it is coverage wars

but it is unfair to call a server trash when in reality it the same tactics ALL servers use

DB is more the 40+ man chase the 5 man all the way across the map type of server often times failing to kill any of them. It is extremely rare to find any smaller sized roaming groups on DB. [SYN] is about all I’ve seen. [EA] a bit larger, but at least they don’t run with 20+ and pugs.

You should put a 5man together. I’ve been killed plenty of times by preform 5mans while soloing on my necro and I never complain about that on the forums, because I know they aren’t zerging trash. They are out there with 5 people and most of their fights are against zergs, not killing solo roamers.

There is a huge difference between a 5v1 and a 40v5.

To be honest I don’t have anything against zergy servers, it’s just a bunch of free loot bags at the tail end of the zerg that think they will live by running and not even trying to fight back…. Can’t forget them zerker geared rangers either

Well it only took 6 hours, but we eventually got it done xD

In other words…

It’s not so much the coverage and PPT that makes people upset / tired against DB. Many of the regular/hardcore players on IOJ stopped caring about PPT about 6 matches ago during the Coverage Wars 2: League. Many from IOJ are used to not having the most points ticking – and play the game for the fights and encounters not how much of the map we can paint a colour (Pretty Painted Terrain).

I can’t speak for EB.

But I have to agree with Ozoo.

The thing with DB – Is it often seems that the apparent average skill level of players and groups is less than desirable – as an overall generalisation. Something that has been noticed / compared in light of recient servers we have been fighting against.

Servers zerg and get zerged, sure. In my time zone (Pacfic AUS/NZ) I’ve just never known a server to have such a weak forced zerg. So easily countered with so few until DB numbers simply hit critical mass and the rally mechanic starts to save them from been downed vs substantially lesser numbers.

You can regularly charge into 7-10 DB players with 4-5 players knowing full well you’ll likely win the fight.

It’s a good thing DB generally does zerg because until the odds are sitting at around 2:1 most of DB’s guys just don’t stand a chance. Sorry. This is a generalisation sure. There must be some semi decent groups out there somewhere on the server. That can handle themselves on a 1 to 1 ratio… At least I’d like to hope.

I can totally understand why DB with the coverage you guys do have – are not actually a higher ranked server however.

I’m sure there may be some on IOJ whom don’t see things this way – but I know there are many whom in my time zone do.

Out of curiosity, why do DB have 5-7 people guard a sentry from 1 person when the whole map is green anyway? I mean you guys won and all so I don’t see why it’s so important that you guys keep every sentry and every camp, wouldn’t it be more beneficial to do what every other server does at this stage of the week and wait for atleast a camp to flip?

Arrange a 3v3 with them. Some of them are more than willing to duel.

On a side note, we view a 3v8 as something that is at least manageable and possibly winnable. 5v40s, not so much.

First fights in this movie are 5v10 or more against enemy guild preforms.

Here are a couple of 8-9v20+ fights.

These kinds of fights are manageable. I get frustrated when we roam around for hours and only find people lost and separated from their zerg, solo/duo roamers, or 40+ man zergs with not much in between.

You do a lot of fake complaining given that you fake complain in every single matchup thread and start fake complaint posts fake complaining about how hard it is to roam solo/duo as a necro. Or were those real complaints. How can I tell the difference?

I personally find the self back-patting about how they provoked us into giving irrational emotional responses the best part of it. I get the feeling that sitting around and congratulating each other over non-events is a big part of their lives. :P

I almost exclusively roam with my brother as a pair. And I gotta say, I can’t begin to count the times where DB players would hoof it in a 2v2 situation until they meet someone else to back them up, then retaliate, start to lose and hoof it again until they get at least 5 people to get their courage back. First time I see anything like this in weeks.

And Ebay… I haven’t seen ebay group comprised of less than 5 players, solo/duo roaming just doesn’t exist for these guys.

Just my 2 cents. Hoping for better roaming match up next week.

Nah I got dropped by 5 maybe 6 of you at a sentry then jumped on so I just logged, I don’t care that I died it happens while solo roaming but guilds like that remind me that it’s not worth roaming anymore in anything less than a zerg.

Well, there was a previous matchup where some people from [RUN] spam laughed a few people they killed that they outnumbered. Typically speaking, these things happen on both sides.

So, if you weren’t there when your side did it then you think they are just being kittens.

I’ll be sure to look into that but I think it might have been some of the 7 or so people we kicked in the last few weeks for emoting instead of regrouping.
