Boring week for FR – afk!
Very interesting matchup, despite the never ending huge numbers that FR keeps throwing on the field – i had quite the fun this evening/night :)
The reset with all three servers brawling for Stonemist was nice as well, aside from the skilllag of course. When Blacktide finally took the control, i tried to hide on the top floor, but had to abandon the idea seeing how SuperLag™ would have made reliable stealthing impossible. So i jumped down to some unfortunate FR mesmer that was hiding as well – due to the SuperLag™ i couldn’t really maintain stealth, and kind of compromised both our positions. If you’re reading this, sry dear FR-Mesmer :/
Afterwards i randomly teamed up with two turned-quaggan (baby quaggan :3) members from dzagos [SF] guild, camping in front of FR’s Spawn on EB while throwing building sites at players passing by (i was stealthing them, since most players on FR tried to kill my little quaggan companions on sight). This went on from 22:55 to 23:41 :D. Sometimes the number of opponents attacking (or spamming attacks into the QuagganSmokeField™) us became too great to ignore, which leaded to some nice fights, especially against some ppl from the [Pro] guild :D Thanks for this, we will come and visit you again !
From what i could gather, the magnitude of FR players i encountered seem to run either full Berserker (in cases of Thieves, [Stunlock]warriors or eles), or pure Conditiontanks (say hello, Engineers and Mesmer!). While i don’t mind hostile berserkers at all (they give me quite the interesting fights), i really hate conditiontanks with a burning passion – especially if they are combined with perplexity runes. Guess i can only hope not to run across too many conditionusers from now on :p
Later i ran alongside the [SF] guild group as a PUGling (not even in TS) for a while; on the blacktide borderlands we pretty much got our kittens handed to ourselves by the [Haaa] guild from FR (X_X)
Also worth mentioning were the guys from [MaD], who did a very nice job protecting their (or our’s, depending on how you see it) keeps from us. (personal thanks here from me, not only because it was fun brawling with you, but also because you didn’t run some condition/perplexity kitten :D)
During the last minutes of playing WvW i stumbled upon a really well played duo of thieves from the guild [AR] (or rather confronted them after i noticed some far away group member taking heavy damage) – downed me several times (kitten you, bleeding pistol!) and seemed to be perfectly in synch with each other. Kudos to you two :) !
P.S : How the hell did that stonewall get there!?

/edit: Not much goind on in this thread it seems…had a few fights that actually were quite good. Sadly, Retaliation hardcounters my build and there isn’t much i can do against healing signet atm (but that’s op anyway, everybody knows).

Sorry to break it for you, but WvW IS blobbing. Small scale is a niche and as far as I can see, it will always be this way (sadly).
Other than that, I am sick and tired of the constant whining about healing signet. I guess, you didn’t main a warrior since launch, so the feeling of “go PVT with zero damage output or have the sustain of a wet noodle” isn’t familar to you. Warriors got Healing Signet buffed because they were in URGENT need for at least some sustain without having 30 points in Tactics, which is only useful for zerging. They don’t have protection, perma vigor, perma regeneration, perma stealth or kittentons of teleports. If you REALLY want to shout “OP” at something rather than adapting your gameplay, please have a look at perplexity Mesmers / Engineers. Those are much more annoying.

The thing you are whining about are Perplexity Runes, not mesmers or engis which both are balanced if not underpowered atm.
And no, i don’t main a warrior and i’m too lazy to level/craft one especially when looking at ArenaNets anti-twink-attitude. But you can ask each and every warrior player out of BNF and they will tell you that currently there is basically no way a warrior will die if he doesn’t want to.
They don’t have protection, perma vigor, perma regeneration, perma stealth or kittentons of teleports.
They have the highest armor, hp, damage, mobility, healing and amount of cc. Please learn your class.
/edit: I forgot to add the amount of cleansing available via Cleansing Ire alone.

Warrior needed a healing buff that is true enough, but they went a bit over the top with the Healing signet :p Also Mending really sucks now compared to the other two heals.

Mobility. Not dieing, because of running away does not mean you won the fight or something else. I know my class, don’t give me that kitten.
FYI: Cleansing Ire does kitten against blind spam. Or good players, who know how to dodge. Seriously. CI is only reliable with longbow.
Edit: Calling Mesmers and Engineers borderline UP does not add much to your credibility.

The trick with cleansing ire is to use LB and/or hammer bursts, which aren’t cancelled by blind or dodge. You should still know Nil, former Amok player. One of his warriors is hammer/lb afaik and doing very well.
There is a small gap between running away and kiting. For me, as soon as you are out of combat because you increased the distance, the fight is lost. As long as you stay in combat, circling around the opponent and waiting for cds or hp-reg, you are kiting.

Hammer burst is cancelled by Blind or Dodge. If you hit nothing it won’t cleanse anything with CI.

Well, Jathres already told you about CI and hammer. What you also should keep in mind is, that hammer plus longbow is a quite static build, great for teamfights /defends in spvp (actually afaik it is the only build that is played in high level tournaments atm) or zerging, but it serverly lacks mobility for wvw roaming (earthshaker 600 range plus bulls charge… but who uses bulls nowadays anyway?). I could swap hammer for greatsword, which would give me mobility and the ability to kite my enemy, but would leave me with little to no cc (besides longbow 5 and greatsword 4). As you can see, warriors can’t have it all, just like every other class. I see why the superior mobility is annoying though, just like it was on dd eles, which would run like there was no tomorrow before the rtl nerf.

Repeatedly exploiting LOS issues with certain abilitys is – in all seriousness – poor play. Hope a-net fixes this soon…
There are two sides of this:
- For once, it’s odd that Dragon’s Tooth (and possible other skills? I only know of ranger downed #2) isn’t affected by LoS while everything else is (and mesmers iZerker got adjusted properly).
- On the other side, it gives another option to clear siege to the attacking fraction, I don’t usually siege but i think the patch that made trebuchets/catapults unblockable gave defenders an edge over the attackers, so i’m fine with this.
