Ye first day was a lot of fun.

I was the commander at Arborstone defending Greenbriar for several hours, it took you guys 3 zergs to finally get the tower back. We actually even managed to wipe a 30 man zerg at the lord’s room with the 8 of us on TS, they all loved it.

Although the matchup for this week already has been decided, you will still see me daily with my guild on the borderlands so looking forward to some fun fights

Great fights tonight, I hope Arbor and RoS don’t chuck the towel in too early, best matchup RoF have had for weeks, was so fed up with the constant blobs! I look forward to some more small scale battles with you guys!

Was some fun fights when i got on hope you all have good week as for me i’m off to new server sad to go but time frame in EU servers was not what i hoped for so Jade Quarry here i come have fun and i try keep in touch with most of RoF.

Really fun match-up so far. Even though RoF is crushing us RoS people, we still have many good fights and not behind walls. I also found this amusing, RoF deploying the “Shock and Awe” strategy against our Keep, just epic!

Are you still in VcY? I haven’t seen you last week in the fights we had with VcY. I thought I saw you but… I’m not sure. Next matchup we should definately clash for the kittens and giggles!

I’m enjoying our defense work on RoF, but it can’t be the same people there all the time. People will burn out on that just as fast as you can burn out on PvD.

There are no blobs on our border, but wow those Arborstone players love their golems. It’s the same routine every time. They roll around the map building golems in every camp, and waypoint them back. They bring them out a few minutes later, usually to the Bay keep, so keep an eye on them and Don’t Lose The Garrison!

My wife and I are going on vacation tomorrow. I’ll see you guys again before the league play starts on the 18th.

It is not like I want to impede/restrict their fun but those of us who do WvW regularly deserve more support when it is needed.

Second, some of our players are happy with “good fights” but I personally want to win my fights, and the match up for the week. If we even had a chance to win the week RoF would see a lot more players regularly in WvW, but Anet doesn’t seem to want that. They like imbalanced match ups and there is nothing we can do it.

And last? If you want Ascended gear you’re going to have to farm an awful lot of basic mats or pay through the nose for them. WvW players don’t usually have the gold to buy mats from the TP, so a-farming we will go. Bosses, world boxes, cathedrals in Orr and dungeons.

All of them exactly the way we don’t want to play this game! (but Anet doesn’t care).

Personally this is what kept me away. Another thing that has been bothering me is people not helping each other. And I don’t mean not stacking on a commander. Things like having 2 guys with you, and as soon as your opponent is also getting 2 guys to back them up friendlies just disappear from the back of you and watch from 1500 distance as you get hacked down. It just infuriates me so bad. You don’t get ressed anymore either. And I don’t mean in the middle of the fight. People just run witht the blob, and thats that. Totally destroys any feelings of comeradary.

The problem with your logic Tiggy is we’re doing to these server what we’ve been getting the last 2months done to us. You can’t consider this fun when EB is just a wxp train led by pve commanders who know nothing, when our very few guild groups just see upscaled pugs zergs from the other 2 servers. No, theese lower tier matchups are a lot worse. So we may win the PPT. Who cares. It’s not fun. It is fun busting blobs, it is fun ninjaing t3 stuff. The harder stuff is the stuff that makes wvw great, not this 100 man eb blob. Not ever having to defend our bl cause AS and RoS just don’t have numbers to pressure is ridiculous.

The worst part about this is we get so much worse as a server. We gain awful tendencies. Our pugs and general pvers don’t get better playing these lower tiers, they get even worse than they are and it’s just frustrating to me. I see how you may enjoy the matchup more since Warp is a small guild, but I can’t stand this.

And I was wrong, the worst part is this’ll be an above average matchup for us in the league. WIll you have fun playing Vabbi, Wsr, FoW, BT? you’ll get your few roamers, which Warp may like since you usually run 5 people, but it’s not better for our server, it’s just killing our bigger wvw guilds and making us worse.

No offense to the servers below us at all – don’t want to come off as insulting, it’s just that the way servers are right we should not be playing you because you won’t get a fair fight. RoF is in the kittenty position where we steamroll everyone below us, then can’t really beat anybody above us. Dz and DL will be a fun matchup. The others…. well I hope our pug xp train in eb is atleast respectful to them.

I guess you missed the bit where I said “I am enjoying the defensive work on our border”, or something pretty close to that. This match up isn’t much fun, even though our opponents are within 1 and 3 ranks. Still, we’ve regularly faced a differences of 3 and 6 ranks lately.

As for the commanders, it gives them a chance to practice and we’ve had a pretty good one in EB tonight. I also said, we aren’t going to defend all the time. Now is a good chance for our guild to go for a run and pick up some WxP too.

Actually,L Step often run with us in the afternoon and he is one of those who defend our bl,escort yaks and so on (when he is not leeching) and he is not the only one. There’s quite a few people doing that when I’m around, especially when there’s a keep upgrading that needs tons of supplies. Just look better next time, cause it’s not only us doing that, Tiggy

The italian community in RoF is trying to train the our pugs ( pvp and pve ) players so that we can have a better group of players. Of course this means that we have to spend a lot of time to train them and a lot of passion for doing it.

We needed a bit of change of pace, but steamrolling instead of being steramrolled isn’t better for our WvW regulars.

I enjoy roaming in this matchup, but no offense, guild raids were more fun against higher tiered servers. Only challenges to find in this matchup are main zergs of Arbor and RoS – we liked fighting them on reset. The main problem is finding them – Angry Zerg is usually busy in EB, which is queued for us due to all the fairweathers (yes, these guys are enjoying steamrolling you, which makees me sad for my server), and Arborstone zerg started to run from us after 2 wipes, and left map after 3rd we just wanted to have some more fights…

RoF is in bad place atm, with only 2 servers (Dzagonur and DL), maybe possibly 3rd (Blacktide) close to our strength.

Well, I will keep hoping for even matchup next friday again, and probably I will be disappointed like it used to be for last 2 months…

Sorry to disappoint you, but last week, against FR, TaG were in WvW 6 out of 7 evenings

But yes, if we get tough match again, I have no doubts that a lot of poeple will go back to their PvE holes, I think that our average population this week is double the amount we had last week. If we had all this last week, end score might have not been such a blowout

Fair point!
But, I don’t think RoS will ever perform poorly relative to it’s numbers, because of the strong WvW community. Reason I transfered was because my guild and many other guilds I enjoyed roaming with left. And it was pretty inevitable that RoS will drop to the “not so intresting” -tiers(WSR, AS, BT).
So, it had nothing to do with Surmia’s poor performance, because there was no such thing!

Lately I’ve been tempted to go back to RoS, because GH is climbing to the more blobby matchups… but I guess it’s still better than fighting servers like AS.

Poor RoS trying to golem rush our garrison in RoF border 4 MINUTES after we wiped the arborstone golem rush in our bay!!! So bad timing for you we had 40 or so defenders on the map to counter the french rush

Yea we were gutted! We’d carefully built the golems, then left the map for a while to lose the outmanned buff, and got back later to find AS had pulled you all to the map :p We were short on time so decided to have a pop anyway, then one of your commanders fell into the water right in the middle of us… ach well, timing is everything, and we ran out of it ^^

Actually I enjoyed yesterday short fight at RoS borderland @ Briar.
Smaller scale, good players, it was fun until You guys splitted. Half stayed with catas, half went inside Briar.

The past few days a few commanders and myself have been working on getting the RoS borderland to tier3 so we stand a chance against the massive zergs and it paid off for a short while but then we got golem rushed by 6+ omega’s and a 40+ man blob against less than 10 of us.

As seen in the third post, people on RoF seem to dislike blobbing yet you are doing it aswell to RoS at the moment.

Very disappointing that boring tactics like golem rushes are being used against the lower population servers.

Hopefully we can have more fun orientated fights as we progress towards the end of the week where we will face each other with less golem rushes and more tactics instead.

p.s. I’m not blaming anyone for using this obvious OP tactic but it does demoralize our server as we are only a few compared to you guys so we invest a LOT of time and gold into our borderlands on a daily base, and losing that to a golem rush is not something anyone would enjoy I think.

how long it is you played against AG or FR? Those are the blobs you are looking for.
But I understand You, we have 6 weeks of constant fights agains +5 rank servers. So trust me we know how you feel.
Bad thing is that RoF pugs were in PvE during those matchups, but now while we are winning they show in WvW. You know why. Its same on every server.

ps. aTs is running in small group of 10 people, and we see RoS groups of 20, can we complain too?

I didn’t use a single golem this week ^^ When TaG took your t3 bay (on Saturday or Sunday, can’t recall) these were oldschool superior rams. Yuor problem was that first scout popped up when inner gate was already at 25%.

I dislike golem rushes in general, so you will see me doing it rarely – can’t tell that about everyone on RoF tho ^.^

PS. 40 man imo still qualifies for zerg blob is 60+ lag monster, most likely all people from map clogged at one spot.

Yeah, Arborstone decided to bring quite a fair bit of numbers so the alarm bells rang. I wasn’t waiting long when Darkstorn called that outnumbered popped in our BL and brought TaG raid there asap :P

Is that Gunnars Hold excuse right now against Piken? if you knew anything about RoF you’d know we kept all 3 waypoints on our map last week against Fort Ranik dova/EO 80-100 man blob for 3-4 nights straight no need to be so bitter towards us just because we don’t need to go where the bandwagon goes we have fun fights on RoF, my guild and im pretty sure the likes of TaG and AZZL etc couldn’t care less about the PPT all this matchup does for us is allow us to train new Pugs and show them why we love WvW which every server should do rather than just blob up 1 server with as many guilds as possible :P

This match up is so boring. Nonstop outmanned if we dont have TAZ zerg in a map which is up 2 horus a day? maybe. Enjoy rolling over me RoF when you still can.

I don’t think people enjoy it, they just farm karm/gold/world xp. We also had our fair share of getting roflstomped by zergs. Being outnumbered all the time is nothing new, and it won’t go away any time soon.
