The game doesn’t work when this many people get in one place to fight. We were in SM last night and after about 10 mins we just left because nothing was working.

We also got skill lagged a few times in open field fighting, it’s just silly with this many people playing.

I’m sure they outnumber DB until a tower is taken, and then a zerg hops over to take it back because there’s probably nothing else for them to do. Then the choice is defending a paper tower against 40+ or throwing yourself at a 1700/1700 keep that’s pre-sieged with bored DB players watching the place.

I can’t say I agree, sorry. Blaming numbers is totally lame. Just do the best you can, there are definitely times when you could have a much higher PPT than what you maintain.

If I did what would be the point of having all these tags on this account?

Obviously we could get the PPT marginally higher, but what kind of an incentive is that when you’re going to get rolled over almost immediately when you try something? And the marginal increase we could manage would change absolutely nothing either except we might lose slightly less rating points. But caring about your rating is even more pointless now too, as the system screwing you over like it did SBI will increase your rating more than actual effort in this match ever could.

Clearly, numbers and coverage have no bearing on the match up. We’ll just try harder to feed you guys more bags, but not because we’re outnumbered, behind or face upgraded defensive structures. Only because we’re bads who need to l2p!

frankly i’ve not given a crap about actually winning since the start of the game when it actually mattered.

When every side had 24/7 queue’s on all maps winning was actually something to be proud of.. as it wasn’t based on population.. when that stopped happening, winning didn’t matter anymore and became about who had more people.

I played throughout the night on the first day. There seemed to be a general consensus that DB wasn’t performing too hot and that we may have overestimated them. What I really find funny about all of this… Mag is a good server with some really good PVP guilds, players and commanders, and I have fought them several times on 2 different servers now.

SBI I don’t know much about them, but I have seen some really strong groups of them pulling off some smart squad tactics.

The thing that is very sad to see is people from Mag and SBI posting things about hackers to justify their losses. I would also like to say that It isn’t the people from the good guilds that I give full props to above. I guess there is always going to be someone that is just so uber the only way they could lose is because of a hack. I mean it wouldn’t have anything to do with them running a glass cannon build they got off Youtube and charging into AC fire…. So how does that go again… 25/30/0/0/15 then 22222 WTF im dead???? DB has been fighting servers with a full crew day and night with the same numbers that Mag and SBI can field for months. Through all of that there was very little accusations of hacking. Now bring in a new match up and suddenly all these accusations start popping up.

My question is simply this: Is it that there is actual hacking going on? Or are there just some people from Mag and SBI that can’t handle the fact that you are going to lose this week and, since you cant win in the game you have to come here and QQ to justify your loss? Yes this match-up is a very bad one.. Neither Mag or SBI has a night crew, and no matter how good your groups are every day you will walk into a map that is solid green, and honestly that is simply not fair to either of your servers.

If you see someone hacking by all means report them regardless of the server they are from, but don’t fill the match forum with QQ about it when every thing that all 3 servers have fought for and won or loss had almost nothing to do with anything but pure grinding of forces sometimes for hours at a time. Don’t take away the dignity of the attackers or defenders by crying hacker.

On a side note I would like to state that Anet screwed the kitten with this match-up. As well as the changes made to siege. Congrats Anet you have managed to change WvW from Squad tactics to a contest of who can turtle with 12 AC’s behind a choke point the longest.

Pretty sure this was proved last time we met Mag in T3, in the open field you guys fight fine, but can’t maintain the Oceanic/SEA presence we have on DB. Coverage wars are very important the higher in tiers you go.

Been having some pretty fun small fights/skirmishes the past 2 nights, SBI and Mag fights well for what they have.

Calling Maguuma a downgrade for GASM is funny since you guys came from a server whose idea of a “golem rush” was literally walking 10 golems from garrison to the south gate of west keep. Twice.

I’m very confused by a lot of things in this post.

Fighting against Dragonbrand is reasuring and yet utterly predictable. On reset from a position of equilibrium, Mag and SBI server held our own and the matchup on reset was quite interesting. It was exciting, there was action, mayhem and good times all around.

And then you check in at 11 am eastern and find out that DB once again nightcapped the whole wvw pie leaving 2% between SBI and ourselves. The infamous PVD nighttime posse has come to town yet again baby!

Now from an armored up defensive position where they hold everything, DB can keep their hegemony going during the day for a long time. anytime there’s a little bit of movement from a side, send a 50 guy zerg to crush it, then move on to the next assignment.

The worst is that i was expecting, even hoping to see general build/tactics/chuzpah improvement from DB, having been sent uptier from us ). Nope…. barely any surprises. The dragonbrand players are still a rather soft, zergy type. If they can’t beat something, throw 3-7 times more people at it til you grind it down to dust. ( kai and yak’s bend guys, in comparaison, are much better individually and don’t need to resort to these tactics to win) .

Such is the endless toil of living under Dragonbrand hegemony. You kill and you kill, and they keep on coming, without numbers. You wake up and all your progress is erased , just like an illusion, by the PVD colonel’s nightime brigade. But you get up, and you go back out there, and you make them pay for every inch, every offense, every lack of respect. Such is the way it shall be for the rest of the week.

From what I’ve seen so far, Mag has got better skill level players/groups than DB does.

That said farming lootbags this week is not going to be easy compared to the Loot bag farms we had on SoS and CD. Gonna miss my bags

This is too frustrating. As a SBI player, I recently starting wvw as I’ve explored the pve world and wanted to home my pvp skills.

We played SOS and cd for awhile and lacked begin usually on numbers everyday. I mean I once saw a 50 man Zerg roam out borderlands while we struggled to get 20 on eb to gather on a tag.

Our biggest problem is the lack of downgrading commanders. I watched one day this one commander rudely comment on our server and another commander cause we were losing, he called us crappy and all that. The commander was trying to protect two fronts from cd and SOS since they usually attacked us the weaker server.

So take any new player to wvw who has to follow this crap. Would you follow a person with a crappy attitude? But the general player would join them and leave our already underpopulated map sepersted Into two.

Or the other night, eb was full for us so we had some work going on in SOS. Other commanders started joining and turned our 40 man zer into 3-4 groups(most players just follow tags, they don’t use the ts server or anything). So yah , our too many tags hurts us at time and they won’t step down.

Theirs a few awesome commanders if follow to anywheres but most new players just follow any tag which sucks which leads to a big loss which leads to less interest

The new daily change as the new chest greatly increase out server participation. I had a hour queu on Tuesday for eb whckh has never happens for me since I joined February and we had 40 guys on SOS and 50 on SBI borderland( never happened either)

Now players cried for these new matchup a which i have no idea why. The stats out us where we are. It’s not like its the same players over and over. It’s server vs server. What’s the possibilities of new matchups? Their designed to be even now and now you want a greater range? It’s all about numbers.

Here’s my theory. Since I started playing in February, I’ve seen all our guilds most active wvw players but transfers to wvw servers. Why would a person who hates pve and loves wvw stay in SBI? No reason. So all these players congregated in tier 1 servers. Now you want to mix them all. This is the stupidest idea unless you Limit the amount of out numbers or maybe make kut unnerved buffs stronger. Nothing about db proves skill it proves more winning and more players. SBI player base has given up and moved on if it matters. To those it doesn’t matter, they just pve and pvp.

It’s really a joke to be honest and any db player who thinks they have skills for dominating. My dog can follow a laser pointer that looks like a blue icon and he can also roll over, sit and stay. Oh, he can sit pretty too , its not rocket science.

They are not really that good (DB) , but they are this endless orrian army that keep coming and coming… you kill 20 they sent you 30… In the end is all about numbers.
And sadly neither SBI or Mag has numbers to fight it back, which proves pretty much these random match need to be polished. Do you think DB is having fun just crushing us their huge meat ball army? No they are not, they won’t have any challenge this week, and they will be punished for that, no karma, no exp, no bags.

To be fair for those calling DB a bandwagon server, I will totally agree with you. We never did ask for people to join us, they just did so. Yes, it has turned out well in our favor, but I won’t deny Dragonbrand has become a bandwagon server. Hopefully, when we start losing, they won’t leave us for the winning server.

In any case, unfortunately this week you won’t see much in the way of tactics other than siege placement from us. Why? We don’t need them. It’s well known that Dragonbrand has had superior SEA coverage over almost all of the other NA servers. We always have. Now we have the NA presence to match that.

In Tier 2/1, however, our coverage isn’t an advantage, it’s what lets us stay in the game. In that situation, our tactics become far more required to do well. Against servers without that kind of coverage, we just don’t need smart tactics.

This isn’t to say we aren’t using good tactics, but our numbers do make it difficult for you to notice the maneuvers and coordination as you just see a sea of “Dragonbrand X” coming your way.

It’s not a hate DB thing I have, it’s a hate that the playerbase all stacked onto a fraction servers.

At least before you were all in t2/t1 and likely to never be seen again, but this brilliant new random system means we’ll get terrible matches on the regular.
