I know when I take my up-level to WvW All the BP people just smile and wave at me as I walk by…. o.O

Here is a tip that a pro WvW server like BP already know I am sure…..there are 3 ways out of every Spawn camp….so when I see players camping one of them…as I have seen from EVERY server….I go another way…….also pesky roaming thieves will hang around watching for target of opportunity to gank…..and they don’t seem to care if you are a up-level or not……. I can safely say I have also seen this from EVERY server.

I find it funny how different people read different emotions into the written word. It could be a really good study/paper for psych class. ;-)

No, I’m not upset. It’s an observation that a fair number of the SBI forum posters claim one thing, yet the opposite is the reality. It really just shows the duality of the server population there.

Re. ganking the solo newbs, in our previous marathon matchup w/ BP and EB, it was simply etiquette that 80’s don’t gank the solo newbies at the spawn. I made that part bold because it’s very specific to ganking solo lowbies at the spawn. Everyone wants new players to join WvW, and this practice doesn’t do much to promote that.

I don’t know what server are you.

As for the dual personality of the server. That is because we are going through growing pains that the new match-up system pushed us into. For once we get some matchups that we might just win and we are re-learning how to do it. As well as trying to get the players who were here during our Tier 1 days that we actually can win.

Imagine us being stuck with both EgoBay AND BP for 13 weeks!!! 3 full months of this. It was so bad for the least few weeks of the matchup many folks just refused to WvW. Between the antics in-game and the endless “we’re so good, you’re so bad….RAWRRRR!!!!!” BS on the forums, boards, videos, you name it, basically everywhere these guys could post, PvE was a more attractive option. Case in point, see airstu.2579’s post above. Oy…..

Yea, I see that, and it does look pretty pitiful that your server is being stalked by people that aren’t even in this MU. 13 weeks of that, and everything else seems like fresh air.

Well you are right about that…I have made that very observation many times on many forums. Text without all the visual and audible ques one gets from face to face conversations can be interpreted in some very different ways….but that is for another forum and research project.

Another interesting psychological phenomena is when people project the circumstances they are currently experiencing as always the norm for everybody.

For example….I myself have many times waved at a up-level on their way to the jumping puzzle and let them pass in peace because they were obviously a PvEer just passing through hoping to slip by and get their map completion or whatever…..I know people have seen that but do you see posts about things like that?..NO…good news is boring.

But if a few players decide to be griefers…well the whole server is a bunch of lowbie gankers!!

If you happen to run into a few of our WvW event night groups…it’s OMG they have tons of players ALL the time…..when I can honestly tell you it is rare…on the BLs anyway. If we have lots all the time it’s ONLY on EB.

I’ve never faced a server as cautious as Borlis Pass before. At times, it’s a good tactic, and at other times it just seems pointless.

I’m kind of curious as to how you came to be this way?

There’s battles where your caution has one-upped us, but there’s times where we have like 5 people defending a tower, and BP has at least 20 or so to take it. Yeah we have siege up, but siege is just window decoration without people to man it.

Also, a question: what was going on when you were on the hill north of SM later in the evening for what felt like 5 minutes? We switched to a commander I didn’t recognize, he was all ‘push’ and I was thinking ‘but there are so many up there.. well, okay’ and you guys just sorta took it until you all fell off the back or died. It didn’t feel right.

:| You know, I don’t know. I’m not sure either what we were doing up there, and I was in TS the whole time. I remember that I did a suicide run into your zerg for a couple of bags of loot that I wanted to pick up (and almost survived it!!), and when I looked back, half our people died from direct damage on the hill, and the other half died from fall damage akittens base.

Regardless, pretty funny stuff.

Best part of tonight’s reset in SBI BL was the dolyak attacking Shadaran Hills south gate. AR won hills, then BP flipped it but the yak was already on its way so when it arrived it started to attack the gate with us.

Manvil the Yak 2013-2013- He lived gloriously and died gloriously. May he rest in peace.
