Nah, I prefer playing for WvW-centric guilds that enjoy open-field battles, and don’t rely on siege (eg. ME, BP, BURN etc.)

Yesterday i had a DB General run from me and one other Yak, the guy was frantically trying to reach a group of other DB players, never seen anyone with that rank try to run. His 5-6 friends he tried to reach wanted to fight afterwards, though. Very brave.

Me and the other Yak then defended a tower in our borderlands, apparently DB saw it as necessary to come with a semi-Zerg of about 20 and to set up ac’s and a ballista to deal with us 2 defenders. Or is it that DB knows no other way to fight?

I haven’t seen any impressive roamers from DB. Come to think of it, i haven’t seen any. But i guess that’s just the way servers from higher “tiers” fight.

It has nothing to do with sample size and everything to do with nearly all DB simply don’t fight other people unless they have enormous numbers advantages.

The people I roam with have coined this phenomena the “DB Critical Mass”. It’s the theory that DB won’t engage an enemy force unless the probability of losing the battle is practically zero due to numbers advantages.

Here’s some examples I’ve just acquired within the last few hours:

Approach a group of three players (NNK asura is not pictured as he’s behind one of the buildings to the left of the photo). Upon seeing three of us they, without hesitation, burn all their mobility skills to get to the fully upgraded camp pictured here. One player mans the Superior Ballista and starts shooting at us as we approach. Another player mans the AC nearby in the camp. Two more DB players show up shortly afterward and sit in the camp, and begin /laugh and /beckon emoting.

A small roaming group of 5 engage about 12 DB at SWC on the pictured BL. We managed to kill 5 or so DB as all 12 attempt to sprint away from us and into the fully-upgraded keep shown above. The 7 remaining DB man the cannons, ACs and (for some unknown reason) the burning oil. They attempt to kill us as we fight a few DB taunting us within their guards and wait until a group of 40+ DB come rushing over the wall 2-3 minutes later and chase us away.

This isn’t the exception when fighting DB, this is what happens every single time at all points in the day.

On the rare occasions you can catch a few of them alone, they run to the nearest camp/tower/whatever and wait for their 80 man zerg to show up and save them. I usually roam around alone or with a group of 3 or 4 other people max trying to look for decent fights. We usually run into groups of 10 or so DB people roaming and try to fight them. EVERY SINGLE TIME, they run away from us and try to head to siege or guards and without fail, moments later a huge red blob comes to their rescue and we all get swarmed and then they laugh and dance. Is there anyone on DB who isn’t a total coward and is willing to actually fight without an army, and siege, and guards backing them up? I have yet to find any.
