It took about ten minutes for a small knot of us to begin to question if it was going to stop, then when we did fight back and got to the top about three of you kicked us back down. Two of you waved “all clear” before bombarding me dead on the first chandelier.

I get it. It’s a PvP-allowed zone so you’re entitled to this. There’s rewards at the end including Siege prints, so it’s okay to deny us those.

But I wasn’t attacking you, and at least two others with me were just trying to get to the kite. At least, I didn’t until you made it clear you weren’t going to stop.

So. I’m planning on waiting until I know a mesmer is in the JP doing portals because I’m not going to run into the jaws again. I will, of course, continue to not attack anyone from other servers in the JP proper and identify myself with waving and bowing. Why? Because I ask the same courtesy of you folks.

Running and using the smoke field + heartseeker combo when you get low does no good. I actually appreciated the fight we had north of briar when you stayed and died versus all the others when you ran.

Here’s the thing though: Anet, in their infinite wisdom, has put a PvE achievement in WvW. Knowing this? I, personally, would not attack the person waving or bowing at me. It’s not their fault that this was put there.

- I’m always ready to die, especially in WvW. I can’t take anyone 1v1 unless they’re incredibly weaker than me (read: upleveled very far), and fights in WvW areas are rarely 1v1. Therefore, once I take some hits and can’t escape? I just resolve to get killed.

You beat the puzzle for the achievement and get 500 badges, you are welcome to go back to PvE.

Considering that CD has been able to take every BL at least once, you guys should have gotten your map completions done as well.

Rangers are one of the most powerful classes in 1v1 and have some of the best mobility in the game. If you are a free kill, then it’s of your own making.

I can sometimes get away from the fight, but I haven’t been able to win a 1v1 against the types of things I come up against. People keep saying rangers are awesome PvP classes but I’ve had more evidence suggesting they’re only good when they can choose their engagements.

I’m not CD, I’m SBI. And I come and go from WvW from time to time, generally late late nights when I have nothing else to do. I got map completion for the WvW lands after the fourth rotation, way back when SBI was really strong and had no problem taking Stonemist and holding it for almost an entire week. Heck, I prodded some guildmates into getting it done that week since “you don’t know when you’ll get another chance”.

. . . and I’m tired of “carebear” crap overall, also. I was so tired of it when that crap started. I don’t know why being interested in PvP (or the reverse) makes someone better than anyone else or more worthy. I don’t care, I just know I’m crap at PvP (and pick crap classes/builds) so I steer clear of it if I can. I know I won’t win and am just cannon fodder. I haven’t been serious about PvP since UO, and even then it was just to know how to spot and get out of ambushes.

I don’t want the Obsidian Sanctum made “100% safe” (I stopped asking for things I know aren’t going to happen ) . . . I just want a mesmer access at this point so I can put it behind myself. Though good news, after last night I think I can just about clear it with an hour of no disruptions . . .

We need people. You don’t have to be good at 1v1 to be good at WvW. There are many, many things you can do in WvW to contribute. WvW is mostly about group play. Group fights.

I’m not very good at PvP. I lose most all the 1v1’s I’ve ever been in. But guess what, I don’t get in them – so its very few and far between.

And despite what people think, Rangers can be good at group play – and help their team. I love my Ranger in WvW.

And if all else fails, hop on an AC and then come back to the fourms and read all the people QQing because you killed them

I have often wondered why they put achievements in eb jp and understand the frustration of those who simply wish to reach the achievement. While some will disagree, It is very similar to people who want to duel/ GvG near windmill being annoyed by others.

There have been some exceptional small force encounters this week. I enjoyed a Very fine 2 v 2 near SBI keep last night, thanks for the fun.

The epic fight in SMC. Sos came close to capping it, but bodies where thrown into the circle by CD and SBI, then it was CD’s turn, got the bar to half, but SBI got the Lord back up again. Finally capped by CD. Although we did hand it back on a platter 5minutes later.

Sorry about that SoS are normally friendly in JP’s unless attacked first, personally i think if u want to fight u should go back to wvw and leave jp. We have had many truces with other servers in jp, and from what i have seen only been broken on sos part by one guild. I have aired my views to them and the main 3 people from that guild who continue to break truces and help making it harder for all (including sos getting chest). But there will always be people and guilds who will attack people no matter what and you have to expect it from all servers at one point or another.

I think you missed my point. My point was, why come on the forums and complain about certain tactics when you could just learn from them and use them to your advantage. We’ve all been in different matchups and it’s very apparent we’ve all learned some new tricks. Just a shame that some people would rather complain first is all :/

I will say though that I personally am very impressed by CD’s performance, you guys seem to be a lot more organised and are clearly giving SoS some trouble during NA times.

To break it down.

CD Rank – 11
SBI Rank 14 (3 Ranks lower than CD)

CD is +40k from SBI at the moment and only -35k from SoS……..Yet we are still loosing evo points for this? How does it make sense that we are just about keeping up with a server 4 ranks higher and out pacing a server 3 ranks lower but still loosing evo points from that?

How does that make sense? I’m not arguing SBI getting + Evo points since they are lower ranked but how is CD still loosing points when at this point we are doing pretty good?

(If anyone has a good link on how the evo points and whatnot work since the last time they updated it would be much apprecited)

I haven’t had that much fun in a while. Still not sure why SoS didn’t just go around us though, but it was worth it for the laughs.

Doubt there will be very much WvW tonight considering the long-awaited premiere of the top summer movie is this very evening. I’ve gotten about 17 invites to viewing parties but only one of those people has a TV bigger than me and their toilet water is blue so that’s definitely a “no-go”. I’m sure most of the server, and the country for that matter, will be munching on popcorn with friends and family while this much-anticipated story unfolds on the small screen just minutes from now. Sci-Fi channel at 9pm eastern (but you already knew that!)…

Yeah, its been brutal Yulo. We sat out manned basically all day in 4 maps, blinking on and off in EB. Tried to go head up with some of the SoS zergs, but it was impossible. They clearly have a much larger player base then last time. CD, also seems to have grown, they had a HUGE presence on our BL, I dont think we were able to field 35-40 people.
Might have to just consolidate to one map and see if we can squeeze a couple of kills out of the zergs. Oh well, just gotta take your beatings.

I am not sure if you still lead on EB but we give you guys ample room to push CD and push them off EB but you guys have a kitten for SM/WC or even coming behind us all the way to QL. If your NA is weak play the 2v1. I doubt SoS NA is any stronger then SBI since we outmanned on 2 bls and have to float across maps to keep things stable. CD is getting organized and has really big SEA crew it seems. Lots of fun in this matchup so far.

I can actually verify this. I was tagged in EB for around 10 hours last night and noticed a pattern. Not counting AP and MG, most of our stuff was left alone and SoS went for CD. Then when SoS went for the CD keep we got to ninja SM and a couple CD towers with our tiny overnight crew.
I had to laugh though when we went and took RQ, SoS brought the entire zerg and took speldon. They didnt touch AP or MG, they just zerged speldon. Like “you took our camp so we’re taking yours and you cant stop us. deal with it.”
But alas, once they had all of the CD area, they started on us and the siege of our keep began. I was waiting for a zerg at our gate so i could farm some bags but you guys held back and went with trebs. It was a good attempt but it seemed like you guys got bored after a while. That’s good, i was getting bored too

Been pretty impressed with CD this week. Though I have not played as much this match-up, been playing this other game called real life, you all are far more organized than in our previous engagements and seem to have a larger pop in WvW then I remembered. Been dominating the BL’s, outside of SoS’s oceanic time period. You have definitely been the best server in this match-up.

SBI needs to refine it’s EBG battlefield diplomacy; but it’s clear they are in it to have fun and they clearly had some.

CD, you guys keep growing and growing. If things continue at this rate we’ll be hilariously even matched.
