IRON done a bit of overtime because we wanted to, no one said sanything about it being a server wide overtime, there was your first mistake. As for changing excuses, all i need to do is reference Titans mushroom induced posts, one of his more recent posts claimed BG was chilling (or words to that effect, i cant be bothered to look for it) while SoR was try harding.

Its already been stated that our increased PPT was due to players taking in the new PvE content, but seeing as we love changing our excuses evey minute lets just say SoR is tanking the score to recruit to counter BGs mass buying again.

What exactly is “overtime”? Are some of you getting paid for playing? If so, how can I get in on the scam?

When did I say that you were supposed to look after 4 timezones, I was calling you out for randomly trash-talking about how the ppt goes in your favour when you play outside of your primetime with significant numbers. I recognize that IRON is a great guild in regards to open field, as you rarely wipe in your primetime – however we rarely wipe in ours either when it is relatively equal numbers. So the crap-talking is pretty funny, as I have seen IRON run 60+ people as well – we blob sometimes as do you; its how the game is.

What can be agreed upon is whenever any single guild does overtime the ppt usually works in their favour, it happens with IRON, happens with MERC, and happens with TW/FEAR when they go into oceanic. It shouldn’t be something to complain about, but its a sign that people are willing to put in the effort for their server.

Normally when I see IRON during SEA or Early EU, they have 10-20 members, sometimes they will be leading some SoR pugs but usually their combined forces are no more than 40 people, which is a lot less than say 50-60 people that some guilds run. (e.g 30+ guild members with 30 pugs)

I think IRON are a very skilled guild and when the numbers in an engagement are even , they win the majority of the time.

Respect to IRON for constantly punching above their weight.

@ Oeps, I wasn’t saying 60 IRON, it was in reference to when I commanded against a IRON + 20-30 PuG zerg in early EU during the last reset weekend. I had a chat with star via PM so no disrespect meant except outside of forum trashtalking which means jack kitten anyway. I have a lot of respect for IRON in-game, but the forums are another thing.

MERC just field the commanders and then you call your pve family so you dont really have much of eu guilds apart from HB yet they are the only guild who actually will want to fight us all the others just run, even if we change tags..

How would I know what the strongest guild did for PPT? And I bet their contribution wasn’t nil. I have seen IRON trying to take all types of structures, so I think I would have to believe that the ‘5%’ on the forums who troll and talk about playing for fights are in fact lying.

When you say you play for fights, you have to mean you ‘prefer’ open fights. You aren’t going to just run between structures waiting for players to engage you right? If you do that, you aren’t a threat and the chances of actually getting into a fight is much lower.

RE: GvG and DOLY parades…

It’s too bad that some don’t see the value of this kind of emergent gameplay.

I, for one, really enjoyed stumbling upon a GvG match a few nights ago and it was a refreshing change of pace to join the other spectators on the sidelines as TC’s [RE] and SoR’s [TW] duked it out. I think the people who say “just go sPvP if you want GvG” don’t get that GvG is as much about the spectating and the sense of community it creates as it is about the actual fight. And though I’ve never participated, I think the DOLY parades are also a nice example of emergent gameplay and I’m glad people take part in it.

With that said, participants (of both GvG and parades) just need to expect and accept that “super serial” players aren’t as open-minded to that kind of stuff and some might even find emergent play/metagaming repugnant. Plus, just as we all have a right to put on costumes and run around a pvp map goofing around, other players have every right to turn trolling our event into an event of their own and attack the yak parades, or GvG fights, or whatever….

In other words, “emergent gameplay” works both ways, and if you want to enjoy what it has to offer, you can’t fault others for playing the game as they see fit as well (whether they pursue a “by the book” approach or actively work against what you are trying to achieve).

TL;DR — Don’t worry. Be happy.

Ahhh finally can post again!

This week was a lot of fun during the EU day/night’s, we had a sick start of the week holding bay on BG border, so sad to lose it and kudos to BG for coming for it all the time we had one of the funnest weeks in WvW thanks to that.

To be honest the number counting game is getting so boring, I think we can all agree that the current meta is kitten but it is what it is until a change comes. Yes X guild might have a huge zerg but is that their fault? No. No one ever said WvW was about attacking each other in equal numbers all the time, nor did they say that using field siege is against the rules, even if it does make me a sad panda.

And as for IRON killing the Dolyak Parade, you can blame me for that, when I was a kid my Uncle ran a Dolyak farm which I visited every weekend. One visit I was out walking his prize show Dolyak ‘Dolly’ when the beast turned around and took a bite out of my side. This experience has left me with a hate for all Dolyaks, and naturally when I heard in map chat that the Dolyak Parade was started I saw red. I think everyone involved knows what happened after this….

Anyway, nice work all this week, sad SoR couldn’t keep that lead but BG you guys really are strong at the moment, props – Keep fighting the good fight!

Try coming out of your towers once in a while BG. The only time I see you out of them is during SEA and Oceanic when u 1000man map blob every map all at once, and even then you still drop field siege.

IRON roster is like 110 with 20ish AFK for summer / holidays atm. And as for us losing commanders, dude, really… I’ve been the main commander of IRON since it began and the other two guys who command regularly have been here so long I can’t remember not having them. So ye we might be ‘few’ commanders but we have a year’s worth of enemy tears under our belts. Show me a guild with three solid commanders like ours Titan cause I can bet you 100g you can’t find one.

Oh and an edit cause I forgot to add- Are you high? We don’t tag up cause unlike you Titan, our members have two eyes and are clever enough to follow my beautiful behind without issue.

Our members dont do spvp. EDIT we have 1 member who does spvp, Jimbattlemaster who is ranked 3rd and his team reached the semi finals of the recent tournament, the rest of us dont.

We definatley dont do fotm, the day we planned that i was stapling my balls to some helicopter blades just before take off.

What is dodging?

Have some respect, we recently lost Offski because he died IRL – our condolences to his family.

There is this awesome commander called Tiffin.
I heard he once saved Ogrewatch from the Jade Quarry Zombie Forces making them flee from the entire SoR and BG servers.
He was nowhere to be seen afterwards though.

From TC’s perspective, hoping for a better matchup this week. Facing recurrent map hopping 60 man blobs is tedious is there is less room for smaller fights and interesting gameplay.

I don’t think one can really underestimate the willingness of people to tolerate subpar gameplay when they (a) win and (b) receive receive rewards from it.

OTOH, nobody want to spend their time providing token opposition so the blob can be entertained.

I guess this is are fundamental flaws with WvW. Why else would there be GvG?

Our members dont do spvp. EDIT we have 1 member who does spvp, Jimbattlemaster who is ranked 3rd and his team reached the semi finals of the recent tournament, the rest of us dont.

We definatley dont do fotm, the day we planned that i was stapling my balls to some helicopter blades just before take off.
