Next week I hope they get a group a little more of a challenge for them, I know they have some great players.

Most probably not making it past the spawn camp of all the thiefs…I ran out a quite a few times last night and got jumped by about 3-5 stealth spammers consistently. Pretty annoying, down 1 and refuge goes up and he is back up or they just stealth/ran when health low and reset then come back to annoy.

I did see a solo asura magummy bear from kitten , props to him, for going against all the DB thiefs…magummy BL I believe.

Joined the zerg and had fun smashing into DB and Mag zerg’s then we got caught in the middle of both…11-12 server time. Good fun

The only guild I remember fielding massive numbers was [TSym] when I did a week on SoR. They had like 40ish in EBG. [IRON] will field a large group every now and then though.

Just been part of the epic defense of our keep in EB. [HK] and [VP] along with other fearless warriors, managed to hold out and wipe wave after wave of the DB zerglings, even though there wasn’t 1 wall left standing in our keep.

I think a big reason for the lack of much drama in this thread is that the outcome of this week was never really in doubt. Dragonbrand Wins, Mag in second, Borlis in third. Most people are just playing to enjoy the fights and make sure that the scores don’t get too too kittened.

I do say though, that I hope we get to fight Maguuma again, preferably without Dragonbrand ROFLStomping us both so we can see how we both stand in relation to each other on a more even footing.

we are an WVW/SPVP guild. When we feel we are ready to compete with GVG we will do so.

id be more worried bout loosing your entire borderlands in under 15 mins than being a forum joker

Oh, we were ready. Thing is, part of BP’s “Grand Strategy” is not letting our keeps get papered with all the siege we use to defend them destroyed. We have a very defensively minded strategy based around our 4 keeps, but Garrison and Overlook specifically. During our off hours, we make sure they can survive even determined attacks. But this also depends on not losing them during those off hours.

Fact is, the 30 odd people who WvW around 6 AM US Eastern Time simply were not enough to keep Dragonbrand out of our keeps during the early morning, and when Maguuma woke up they always were able to capitalize on capping behind Dragonbrand before we could even fix the doors.

Which is why I really hope we will get to fight Mag again, preferably with a more evenly matched third wheel for us like Yaks Bend.

Mag also has no upgrades or siege every morning. It’s something to get used to if you face any t3 or t2 server. Upgrades/siege are crutches.

Oh, I know. Mag also has more people round the clock then we do. We get evenly matched during the prime time, and thats honestly when things are the most interesting, but Borlis more often has to fight outmanned. its how we’ve gotten so high up already. I remember the first time we met SBI back in June. We would be outmanned in eternal 24/7.

I would not say “siege is a crutch”. Its more a “force multiplyer”. And honestly, all of us have gotten really good at placing Arrow Carts and trebuchets inside keeps and towers. Lacking a significant number of skilled Guild Groups and a persistent WvW presence that form a solid force on any map 24/7, we’ve had to resort to alternative strategies people in higher tiers tend to disdain. I know Ehmry Bay had kittens about us “hiding in towers”. Of course, given the opportunity you should always use a tower to your advantage :P

You posted that your strategy for contending with Maguuma was upgrades/siege. I’m saying that basing any strategy on upgrades/siege is a crutch, because you’re relying on not facing night time servers, and you definitely will fight them.

Unless you want to go the t1/t2 route and call recruiting a skill, then it’s something to think about!

SoS wouldn’t be fun at all. We rolled over their NA every single night to the point where they stopped showing up. Mag has essentially no night presence and our EU presence is made up of NA people who have the day off work and decide to karma train. We also don’t have any weekend warriors, so we pull ahead during the week when other servers bleed population. SoS, on the other hand, has a night presence, so we’d wake up to a 400+ PPT for SoS and sub-100 for us. Can we say “carried?”

YB we roll over because their coverage is even less than ours.

I don’t really have an opinion on BP yet, though, because it’s hard to find less than 40 of them in a zerg. Judging by that [Agg] steamroll video and the Guardian actually using the offensive book, the outlook isn’t very good.

The only competition we get any more is against DB/TC/FA. JQ was hard to handle because they’d roll around with full queues and drop open field siege everywhere. If you caught their zerg away from a tower and without open field siege, though, free bags galore.

I’m a solo roamer so, I could careless about losing the entire BL. But, those that wear the BURN tag have no right to say they carried BP. Since you guys won’t accept any GvGs to prove it to us you have actual field skill in WvW. I don’t want to see this “oh we defended towers/keeps” keep that to yourself. Don’t take it completely wrong. Not saying BURN is bad or useless. Lose or win doesn’t matter just step up and prove it to us.
