I don’t think YB has anything like DB’s numbers, especially in time slots other than US peak (which I never see!). I think a lot of the feedback is being expressed in the hope that Anet will read it and ponder the likely effect of the league.

Effectively both KN and YB find themselves totally dominated by DB who can even decide who comes second in the match.

since you bring it up… I am starting bidding at 100g to decide which server comes in second this week.

We’re very sorry that you guys had come across Dragonbrand in this match up however, we in Night Shift [NS] always look for fights in the field instead of capping objectives. If any guilds/groups have the same mindset, please whisper Nateralus or Wokfoo and we can all set up in the same borderlands just for fights!

I haven’t seen a Yak “zerg” since reset night, yet Kaineg was rolling through Yak’s valley with 40+ at 8am this morning. Kain and YB are clearly active in different times, where as DB has essentially every time of day covered with 50+ zergs on EVERY map.

This matchup is favorable to Kain actually as far as a lopsided match like this can be. Due to that DBs all around strong presence depresses when YB would usually gain big on KN, while KN has a strong period opposite Yaks where they can gain ground. KN might be able to sneak a 2nd this week by playing the coverage. With leagues upcoming though, not sure its a good thing to be gaining lots of server rank right now.

Yaks, you guys always bring good fights. DB guild [WAR] you guys like to jump people a little too much. No need to bring your 15-20 people to kill one guy. Just let him run away, you already own the map anyways.

YB mesmer that I fought at Greenvale on KBL, i appreciate you not bringing your buddies. It was very good fight. DB guardian that i met by the veteran wolf at Astralholme KBL, would’ve been a better match had your warrior buddy not jumped in. Either way, good fights overall.

Yak here – seriously a big thanks to [GLOB]. I’m usually solo capping stray camps in YBBL while picking the occasional duel, sometimes hopping to other BLs. [GLOB] is perhaps the only guild I’ve seen actually try to engage in fights/defend points (my apologies if there are others) and it’s been fun to help/be helped. Props to you!

By the end of Sunday (or earlier), appears majority of YB has ‘given up’ PPT this week and just following commanders to WXP train in Kain EB or Kain BL (and DB BL when they can). Too many times this weekend I would log and see that YB holds 2 keeps … both in Kain BL and a couple camps in our BL Give it maybe 30 minutes and then we’ll hold 2 keeps in our BL, then DB’s … Not that surprising of an outcome for yaks considering defending any point seems nigh impossible. Solution has turned into literally 90% of our players blob in one map, cap a keep or two and move on.

While I understand the situation and have joined on a couple trains myself, I really hope we don’t see too much of this trend/meta continue in future matchups.

I think any server doesnt like anyone hacking or attempting to cheat the system. Its the main reason they removed the orbs of power in WVW. I know we jump on people as well on DB for hacking or exploits. Why must the few ruin it for the many… /sigh.

I’m on kaineng. The server leadership was notified someone on our server was hacking and we took some direct action. I am simply informing you guys that action was taken and we found out who it was and reported the player directly to support with video evidence of the exploit.

I would like to take this moment and apologize to Kain. I’m back after a very long break, I’ve several level 80s and I’ve decided to stick with my thief. So, uh, the apology comes into play because I don’t remember how to play my class. I roll mostly shortbow and then dagger/dagger. I’ve won the 1v1 fights but I think it is mostly luck. Luck and smashing skills that send me flying over my enemy so many times we both get turned around.

I might not add a whole lot in terms of skills to my server but I do run around ressing everyone! So if you see a knightly looking Asura female in the Hugs for the Hug God guild, please, don’t hurt me too badly. Please. Don’t hurt me. ;_;

Looks like a tough match up though, we’ve got our work cut out for us. I’ll be up to par soon enough so long as I keep managing to avoid dat DB zerg. Not even my ultra neato flying asura skillz save me then. >.>

I don’t think informing others of reporting a hacker from your own server would fall under that rule. Unless it was calling out a specific guild or person.

It’s good that there are leaders on Kain willing to do that. Sometimes it can be hard to tell if it’s hacking or just a very sneaky mesmer, and even harder to catch them in the act. Good job on your effort and success.

There was one on YB a while ago (months ago) that some of us suspected of doing the same thing, but never actually caught him in the act. He moved server shortly after that, so we didn’t really have much of a chance to catch it.

You FoW guys are driving me crazy with your constant golem attacks and map zerg. You’ve hit us on db bl every day so far, its such a pain to defend.. XD

I think SBI will probably pass yaks bend in the rankings before October, but what do I know?

Given the structure of the league thy would be fools to do it! If they stay down they will get some even matches and a prize. If they get up to 12 then it’s 7 weeks of being rolled over, no server prize and likely often a struggle to get out of the spawn for long enough to achieve any personal reward goals.

Usually don’t comment on other matchups but since you’re talking about us…

We don’t want to be in the silver league. We faced you guys just before a large guild transferred over which resulted in us rolling over BP. We’re right now in a boring matchup with IoJ and NSP and the only 2 servers above them are KN and DH. Both of which we have had good matchups with (both lost and won) before the massive transfers.
We’ll have far more even matchups with SoS, Mag, CD, and maybe eBay along with whoever ends up in gold league between YB and BP. So that’s at least 5 competitive servers compared to possibly 2. Probably win a league with boring matchups 6 weeks out of 7 or lose in some exciting matchups where we get nightcapped most weeks and maybe spawn camped 2-3 weeks.

Props to Crit and EAT for the fun last night btw! ^^

Thought id say good fights last night in EBG. Might I give some pointers to you guys on Yaks and Kaineng.

Yaks.. you guys had a MONSTER zerg last night.. why did you take towers and your keep back yet you abandon it for nothing? You left everything you took defenseless and we recaped them in no time. With the numbers you had you could have done a lot more, the golem rushes were pretty good but you guys didnt use mesmer portals to speed them up very well, we were able to pick them off fairly easy. When it comes to your zerg, you all scatter to the 4 winds when you meet resistance, try to stack up, share buffs and stability when you charge in, several times I took a group half as big and destroyed the integrity of your zerg due to that. You all had a hell of a zerg, just got to learn how to control it!

Kain, you guys are unfortunate to not have the numbers we do, you did have a good zerg size bout an hour before i logged off and you pushed on overlook, however you did the same thing as yaks did, scattered, and didnt stack up. Once again we were able to take a smaller group, pierce through your front line and decimate the integrity of the zerg. You also were slow to get the golems going on the gates. Use those mesmer portals, they are your friend! Also keep them together so they move as a group so when they hit the gate they are 10 x more effective.

To kain and yaks, learn how to do defensive tactics, make sure you siege up your towers and especially the keep to defend against attacks. Im sure you were low on supply but yaks, you guys took camp after camp and had a ton of supply yet no defenses. Its good to take stuff but holding it, is much more difficult and if you can hold towers and keeps, you will be far more successful. Also learning siege placements and knowing how to use hit and fade attacks to draw an enemy into a bad position to give you the upper hand is really important.

Lastly, physiological warfare. Holding a zerg in one position while stacked and not moving whilst you watch can be devastating. Then when the zerg dissapears or charges in together tightly packed, it can make people run, and it does, people get scared of a pixel death. Teamwork guys, it works.

Im just making suggestions, there are many different ways of doing things and such and also when you dont have the manpower it limits what you can do. Motivation is everything as well, a non motivated zerg is a weak zerg. Communication is key, if you dont use communication, you will lose. We followed yaks every move last night as they had a huge zerg moving about and defended 2 golem rushes.

oh.. and those two thieves this morning.. nice try, you thought you could get me bahahah! Good fight!

Except for NW tower and Garrison in DBBL (once), and Lowlands (once) I didn’t see a lot of defending either last night for the several hours I was in WvW (against our WxP train)

Also, I think you mean psychological, not physiological.

Ah, someone spotted our WXP train! It is probably one of the last few things we can do to deal with the constant presences on all maps, and helps us keep morale and training up! And I am more than happy with the various commanders who have lead such trains this week with the current set-up we have now.

As much as I like to be joking aside, we at Yak’s Bend are aware of the various tactics and tips you have mentioned and do in fact implement them at our discretion. Although I do find it flattering you considered that train a ‘monster’ zerg.

Yeh, kitten auto type correction! And honestly, that was the biggest zerg ive seen in about a month, had to be 80+ at one point. I saw that first at overlook as i got up there and it was a huge blob of red name tags. We used to do the whole wxp train stuff but that was looong ago, ive never been on another server and i remember when DB was getting farmed bad after about 4 or 5 large guilds jumped servers when it was free to do so.

Honestly though, the whole zerg thing can be fun but i find it far more fun when you go after 2 or 3 people with yourself or another person with yah to test their skills in open combat, either being prepared or not for either side. ….plus less lag. lol!

It probably was, and that zerg is just for capping, its a karma/wxp train. As such there are many people who bring uplevels and a lot of PvErs. But we did take 3 of your waypointed keeps. Overlook, Garrison and Hills. ^^

Long ago? The only way our wxp train works, is if theres an opposite wxp train on DB going around, out of the 30-40 keeps we take, maybe 4-5 are defended, rest are empty.

I …I…I think my head is going to explode….Is someone from Db actually being condescending to someone from ANOTHER server about defending??

What crazy alternate reality have i stepped into. 2 weeks ago against Maguuma…MAGUUMA… I couldn’t rally 10 people to stop their afternoon rush that wiped our wp’s from our bl and eternal. EVERY DAY!!!

end rant those with glass houses and all that… really get some perspective.
