There’s an exploit in that enemy players are able to res the mesmer through the water gate of Bay and then later on portal a zerg in through outer. It’s pretty highly abusable and frowned upon, and who knows if Anet is working on a fix for that. More info here:

Let the rationalizing begin because we’re upset that someone used a fairly common and backhanded tactic/strategy in an area of a game where it is literally all about tactics and strategy !
i’m not even justifying it. everyone gets kitten ed when they realize that they didn’t sweep and a mesmer was left unnoticed. everyone will get upset if a mesmer died at the gate. but it’s what happens. people will pull sneaky stuff in wvw. you think we’re happy if a GoM mes dies at the gate and someone heals them? because that’s happened before. not necessarily by you. but it has happened before. GoM isn’t exempt from pulling sneaky moves in wvw. literally everyone does. i already know it’s not fair and believe me, i’ve gotten kitten ed knowing that someone will res them. but making a big deal out of something that is literally so common is ridiculous.
was really hoping we could avoid any negativity like we were able to last week, i can already see that’s not going to happen

So far, the thread is about how people keep using the cheap “mesmer-on-gate” tactics and about how people want SF out of the thread (I don’t even know the reason, none have said nothing wrong, just that they are rooting for ET).
In other words… This gonna be a boring thread, if that’s all we can muster from the reset night.
Two of us on GoM are participating in the Extra Life 25-Hour Gaming Marathon charity event this year. We kicked off at around 8 AM this morning and are playing non-stop until 8 AM tomorrow morning (plus the extra hour for the time change) to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals. I’m playing mostly GW2 (gotta get my mesmer to 80), plus some SMITE and a little bit of Divekick.
So far, the thread is about how people keep using the cheap “mesmer-on-gate” tactics and about how people want SF out of the thread (I don’t even know the reason, none have said nothing wrong, just that they are rooting for ET).
In other words… This gonna be a boring thread, if that’s all we can muster from the reset night.
SF posters got the last matchup thread locked. Mods finally got sick of deleting posts. Considering it was the worst matchup thread I’ve seen in the last 3 months, it probably was a good thing.
My general feeling for reset weekend is that GoM is going to get a point lead on Kaineng the true test on where the matchup will go will be sunday late night and Monday.
I spent reset bashing my head (and dying repeatedly) against larger numbers on foreign BL’s, our one capture of hills on GoM BL was stifled by an immediate counter attack with us unable to get any supply for defensive siege because ET just capped the SE camp. Overall though there was several epic moments on reset and was quite fun overall even if we didn’t make much headway.

Unless one of the three servers suffer a real change of numbers, I can say this matchup is already pretty much decided…
PvE’rs will see that GoM is going to win and are going to swarm all over WvW, making GoM get more numbers (if they aren’t there already).
Also Kaineng already show that they have a good PvDoor off-hour crew (Kaineng had over 330ppt when I logged in the morning).
Eredon can’t compete with GoM on prime time and can’t compete with Kaineng on off-hours so, we’re problably sticking with 3rd again unless the two things pointed above suddenly disapear during the weekdays. However Eredon presence during the week is also rather weak, which almost resulted on a defeat in the matchup between ET/FC/DR some weeks ago where FC would problably win if the week had 1 or 2 more days.
