You´re doing the same “blobbing thing” on a lower level…there´s like no way to roam around alone a little and search for some duels….i always get ganked by 5-10 ppl Guildgroups. It´s really annoying to get chased about half of the map by a whole guildgroup.
So if you´re really up to fair fights pls stop that

lets just have some fun this week, and just remember we cant to much about the night coverage but prime time we should be stuffing the kitten out of AM they travel as 1 huge blob which is fact they cant be in 2 places at once, the more we split the more we know their position and should be knocking on doors on each corner of the map. Cool vid, but why not 1080p ? Looks very washy and fragmented on my screen. I think I remember you guys… wasn’t part of one of those zergs, though. Please don’t get me wrong here, but you’re basically stacking buffs like crazy and then start to spam 1111 as well. Correct me when I’m wrong, this isn’t meant to be an offence of any kind.

I’ve been disappointed in Gandara before, but for the first time I’m ashamed to be Gandaran.
EDIT: apparently this isn’t clear enough. I’m not from AM.

On our borders right now are 2 AM guild groups, [LNS] and [FAME], and hardly any randoms with them. They each have 20-30 players. They’re sticking tight to their group leaders, buffing up, charging with veils etc. Even saw LNS withdraw just now, let FAME engage us, then LNS came back to hit in the flank.

Meanwhile, Gandara has no real guild groups on the map, only a handful of SVSL forming the commander nucleus and a small team of 5-6 TDA, and all we have besides that is a mass of 40ish players milling around a commander, and the rest of the people on the map running around like headless chickens. And STILL people are calling out “AM blob at Faith”, and accusing them of having no skill.

I don’t particularly like Abaddons, and they definitely do bring some ridiculous blob play and cowardice at times. But right now we are in NO position to be complaining about skill and organisation. AM are playing how we like to tell ourselves that WE play, with organisation and skill over numbers. Quite frankly, whining from Gandara right now smacks of jealousy and self-denial.

/salute to LNS and FAME, and I’m sorry you’re taking so much flak for playing just the same as everyone else.

C’mon don’t make a fuss about FSP or any other Server blobbing too. We all know that every server got it’s blobs so we don’t have to note it when they do it. Yeah some of them like to deny it but i guess we’ve learned by now that they won’t stop with that anyway.

For the record i know gandara blobs, every server does. The thing i dont like about AM (previously) is that i never see anything other than a blob.

Anyway im with ragnar on tonight. I saw a group of 30 AM!!!!
So yes Ill eat my words and say i was wrong, you have something other than a blob and I’m sorry (I’m sure you care about my opinion at this point).

You seriously taking a screenshot on EB? every pug runs after that 1 commander, you’d be lucky to find some guildgroups in EB… and while we talking about EB, it took you some time to get some scouts at your own keep… dont know how many times we rammed your gates there and man o man once you get lured outside your keep its easy killings, I kinda do understand why you blobb now since with few your health drops quite fast

I actually want to thank Abbadon for helping us get rid of our “Gandaran Whine and WXP PvE WvW vacation train” that appeared last week when they saw us having alot of points. They are now firmly back in Fireheart Rise going “LFM BERZ WARR GEAR CHECK NO N00BS PLZ” in the map chat

Well, it might looked that way from your point, but it wasn´t so. The situation was as follows (see pic 2 of mine) :
1. Walls down to 30%
2.No supply in keep
3. No camp to bring supply to the keep.

Solution :
1. Go out and keep them busy.
2. Few people went retake the camp.
3 Escort Dolly to keep for supplies.

Good fights today, was leading on EB twice today, blobbo e blobbo. I don’t think we lost any incredibly serious fights, sometime unlucky, but the fights were okay. Amount of superior arrow carts was still incredibly demoralising though. Regards to the PunK/Blob mashup; you guys were feared and targeted due to the unorthodox haze of blob follows by PunK uppercut though the mist combo. Very effective, although our group was quite resilient to it the few times we faced it. That last fight at Mendons was quite a bit of attrition, unfortunately I decided to leave due to your spawn advantage

Anyways yeah decent fights – just AM find more guilds less ACs, mmkay?

I dont really see it as whining personally. Its banter the same as in any match up thread, we just dont like you so its not friendly banter – its taking the kitten .

With increased radius (and even without) from ranks, I don’t believe there is anything wrong with how the enemy AC is hitting.

A recent attack on Anzalias gave me access to an AC on ground and I wakittenting their AC which was on the inner ledge of the wall, near the top of the wall stairs.

I play on Aurora Glade but i just had to tune in when I saw this.
There is no such thing as a “warrior” in WvW. It’s a game, your death means nothing and you respawn instantly.
Running around in a blob because you feel like a warrior is just sad. The only way to actually feel even remotely as a good “warrior” would be to solo-roam and kill 1v2/3’s, or duel an even opponent to get your adrenaline going.

First of all: let’s keep it civilized.

You should know there are reasons why people (AM) play the way (zerg) they do:

1: it’s successfull to a certain degree. blame the game! especially if you have only few people who are willing to organize things and when you have lots of casual gamers. if it was not successfull, AM would have a hard time trying to adapt – we would (and actually do) try though. if it was not successfull other servers wouldn’t have to cry out about it.

2. fighting servers such as baruch bay tought us that we indeed have to split and need other strategies than running as one huge blob. there is one problem though: in higher tiers not only do they have organized guilds with small TS groups using highly efficient skirmishing tactics – they have gigantic blobs AS WELL!

it is simply a lie that other servers don’t blob – everybody does if he has the masses to do so… believe it or not, there are people out there who have different play stiles, some of them simply having a beer, bashing 1 and not taking the whole thing too serious. it would be nice indeed if AM had more of the smaller more interessting groups – give it some time though, they might evolve – especially if tactics and maybe rewards (such as anounced by ANet) will benefit those at some point in time.

3. AM has indeed been a server that startet to have an organized WvW Team (Server TS, commanders, etc.) late in comparison to other servers.

The interesting thing on AM in my opinion is, that this organization has not come from some elitist Guilds who seek small and possibly more interessting battles but always been the attempt to get everybody on the server to play as a collective. Honestly I think that’s great – even though it leads to a playstile that I don’t really like myself all the time.
Our commanders have always tried to get all the PVEers, the WvWers or sPVPers for that matter (which I feel we don’t have that many, but I might be wrong) together as one. Therefore we have a strong sense of community, no one get’s excluded, it doesn’t matter if you’re random or casual or a skillfull or whatever player. You log in and run with the pack which can be fun.
And by the way: I don’t consider it all that easy to get 30ppl+ into TS and be civilized enough to make any kind of conversation possible – the reason why we even have those huge blobs is an achievement in itself.

I myself prefer small groups but am a very casual player. – so there of course are AM players who roam and prefer smaller tactics.

Anyway – I usually have no organized group and yet I prefer to not join the zerg but roam around alone, try to solo cap things and always find one, two, or three other roamers who join in. Feel free to kill me (us) if you see me running around alone or with two or three others – if you can!

And believe me: I’ve been wiped with my face to the dust from no matter what server so many times by zergs or groups of 30 ppl+ I can’t even count it:

that’s unfair, that’s dirty – that’s WvW – enjoy it! ;-)

Hope u guys read the upcoming WvW updates.. Large scale zergs (or blobs) will get less WXP/EXP/points less… Also other negative things will happen when in big zerg and stuff so I dont rly care anymore who blobs and who doesn’t.. If I kill someone when they have more ppl, I’ll jump on your corpse.. Makes me happy enough..

Correcting you, since you’re wrong. First off, you can observe the skillbar of the guardian who recorded the fights. Watch his use of his utility skills, dodge rolls and weapon swaps. Those are_deliberate_ and not just spamming as 1-pressing would imply. But that’s just one guy. The important bit is the way the group runs.

The game is not simply about which skill to press when. A lot of the group-fighting is about positioning and movement. If you watch the fights somewhat closely, you can clearly see how they use the terrain to their advantage, how they re-position themselves to avoid the hard-hitting AoEs, how they disengage and re-engage and how their melee-train sticks tightly to the guy with the target. You can also see them working the downed people you can see the deliberate use of combo-fields rather than the accidental occasional Water+Blast you get with zerglings. I could go on here but I won’t.

That is not the same as having everybody loosely running after one guy while pressing one!

I agree almost completely. The only thing I would like to point out, is you don’t need to solo-roam to get the nice feeling you get after a hard victory. If you run with a group it’s still pretty cool to kill larger or even groups (like you would take pride in taking down 2 people at once, groups do in taking down double their numbers).

You can have as many reasons as you want to play the way you do (and sure, they’re good reasons) but it doesn’t make it any more fun to be on the receiving end. I can understand why you play the way you do, I still dont like it.
Not trying to be critical, its just the way i feel about it.

Zerging is very effective, honestly you can change the way you play but points wise it wont bring you all that much more success. Its a large part of the reason why I just dont care about points anymore.
BB didn’t beat you because they have more guild groups or because they have a better strategy, they beat you because they have more players. I’m not trying to disrespect BB by saying as much, they have some really, really good guilds.
Guild groups help but having a dozen more players than your enemy in the middle of the night will earn you a hell of lot more points than a really solid guild group. Its sad that thats the case but in my experience it is.
Ratings these days are basically nothing more than a wvw player population stat. You can really push to gain as many points as you can get against servers with a similar population as you and it’ll push you ahead of them rating wise but you’ll just end up against a server with a higher pop than you and theres no counter to it really. You might win for a week or two against them but eventually your players will get burnt out and you’ll sink back down the ratings.
Give it another few weeks against the likes of BB or RS and you’ll come to the same conclusion i think.

Having said that there is things you could improve. Its difficult to outplay a blob with a blob just due to there being very little utilities or attacks you can use.
Builds and gear do make a difference though and its something your player base could improve on as you seem to have a lot of berserker geared players who die if you look in their general direction.
Again not trying to criticise or put you down – a lot of inexperienced players tend to make the same mistake and when your running in massive numbers it difficult to pick out individual areas that can be improved. Just an observation.

Guild groups do help too. They can just take on and beat larger numbers of enemies than a similar size pug group. They’ll just be better coordianted and familiar with each other and it helps. The points gained at prime time (when guild groups tend to be around and in a position to influence a match) are pretty tiny and irrelevant though compared to the points gained outside them hours.
