I am really enjoying this thread, SF talking about superiority and how to play WvW, other players calling out numbers and coverage.
First off, great for SF that they have the numbers this round. Good for them, that’s WvW. But telling players to come to your server during leagues is just stupid, why would they transfer?
As far as “teaching player’s how to WvW” that’s hilarious. You guys can’t even scratch the door on the tower my guild is defending (while we are actually online), let alone WvW, so please, don’t be ridiculous.

Correct me if i’m wrong, however I have seen a lot of negativity directed towards SF. I have only seen one post that could be offensive throughout this whole thread and I don’t see how we are being perceived as arrogant or obnoxious as said a few times. The things that you have stated all come down to this one remark;

If you don’t see this as a troll or sarcastic post I don’t know what to think (“Sorrow’s Rock”…) but I can hardly see how “SF talking about superiority and how to play WvW” is deduced from one post. As said before we don’t have control over who plays and how they play as long as they are having fun, improving in skill, and staying after their achievements are finished. (this is my opinion )

The first post from your server is a comment on how the other two servers will make for a boring week for sf. Then comes a blatant recruitment for players from 2 servers that you are stomping. He also says that IF you transfer over, he’ll graciously show you noobs “how to play”. Then comes a comment on how Anvil Rocks are zerker noobs. Insert more posts on how everyone not from SF is “bitter and mad” next and how SF is so chill. Then SF starts talking about how the other 2 servers are crying and needing tubs to catch their tears. SF might be in the bronze league, but your server’s trash talking skills are certainly tier-1 material. Even if I was tempted to transfer over, after reading the kind of posts your community posts on matchup threads, I’ll say no thanks.

you guys have a better night tonight? because w/ even numbers we wiped you every single time we met in arbl and eb and we took everything you had every time we tried.

its no wonder you send such outrageous numbers everywhere; because without that our small man groups would stomp ya like we did tonight and your players would stop playing like they do all the other times your server tries to play wvw…

Lol, best moment of the week… (and I have to write this b/c sadly I did not record it)

AR Hills, it’s paper, we have it capped… I’m alone inside. I stand on the outer wall as 20-25 AR are hitting the north gate with a ram, and I start doing the /laugh emote at them. Enraged, they’re thinking “He won’t be laughing when we get inside!”

They get to inner, start ramming the door, and again I’m /laugh emoting on the bridge. As they get the door to 5%, I retreat back to the lord room to make my stand against the horde of angry AR just dying to kill me and /laugh emote all over my body for revenge…

They approach the lord room, top of the stairs… It’s just the lord, some guards, and my big ol norn…. right? Oh yea, I forgot to mention the 12 guys stacked in a tight ball in the corner who, as the horde floods down the stairs toward me, drop a gigantic bomb into their side, we push up the stairs through them, wiping all 20-25 of them clean within about 10 seconds No revenge for them, and now they know why I was laughing the whole time

Lol, for all those who are complaining that this week isn’t fun, you gotta be creative and MAKE it fun with moments like these

Lol that was us at AR. We built a ton of golems to reset SF’s t3 keep and SM, then thought why the heck not, lets also reset Kain. But then you guys were prepared for that and that didn’t quite go according to plan xD

That and the subsequent fight at SM was fun. I think we’ll get along splendidly c:

First of all, yes, one or two (and not more than that, thank you) posters from our server made some negative comments. Second, if you judge all of our server by that, then who is the hypocrite? But in your post you skip right over the blatant attacks and negativity from the other posters. Ironic is it not?

Like I said, nobody has said you do not have a right to be upset about someone posting, but look at it form all angles and not just down your nose.

Well, this is going to be a slow week for SF

you get to sleep in the bed you make. it can be as fun or as boring as you make it. roll 120 ppl per map 24/7 and kill the 2 man group trying to take a camp, and you’ll find it’s going to be really pretty boring.

pretty typical sf as ever i recall. here’s to killing sf w/ boredom this week. too bad you’re not talented enough a server to make it to the higher league to play in a real competition so you’re stuck with having 120 ppl sitting for hours in empty maps watching for white swords to go and kill 2 ppl… brilliant. that’s awesome… yes can you help me w/ the gold cost to transfer there. i’m def. wanting to get in on that. oh wait, i already have another account on a t1 server that’s winning so no thanks (and anvil is still the better place IMO than sf that t1 server).

What do you want us to do? PvE? Lol. As much as it sux for the 2 of you it is worse for the “120” of us who have nothing to fight (FYI map caps per server are not nearly that high)

Also, weren’t there like 5 AR last time we fought? Might want to team up with the other 3 and see if you have better luck. If you can get 20 or so motivated ppl you could try studying some RG vids with Sacrx comms.

We both know we have numbers on you, and I am not saying that you can win the matchup with better strategy. What I am saying is that if you want to win fights against larger numbers, the Red Guard vids are a good place to start learning how.

Also, I tell our players to watch the RG vids too, we have a lot of room for improvement ourselves. If we were already playing at RG level I would not have offered any suggestions since you would not have a chance, but we are not playing on RG level so you have some openings to win fights.

From the angle I’m looking at most stacked servers don’t do the “sigh, it’s so sad now that I’m roflstomping everyone in wvw. Life will be boring.” When two other servers retaliate against that I clap and I say well done. The other servers might be negative, but when the representative statement from a server consists of “u mad bro? yes u mad. probably still mad. cry moar” how am I supposed to judged SF?

Technically, you are the first person to use the word superior. Telling players what gear they should use and what videos they should be watching gives you an air of superiority, which, of course, was the word I used. PTH is pretty good too but you won’t have the hp buffer for big fights. What you will probably find is that it is really good until you start getting downed instantly. Warriors have a high base hp so it is not as big a deal but if you find yourself getting killed at the start of big battles you should try swapping in some PTV. Also on PTH the healing is the primary stat so your damage output is considerably lower than PTV.

To all the AR and Kaineng people: This match up sucks and I’m sorry, really.

Those of us that have been on SF long enough know very well what its like to get rolled due to numbers week after week, after week for couple months straight and we understand your situation. I have no blame towards anyone for this except a-net and their stances on this issue.

Also, FYI, above posts are correct when they say SF is full during NA prime time and lacks coverage. We apparently got some transfers, I do not know if they will stay, I suspect most will go back to their home servers once they get their meta achieves or the ques there die down a bit, + our own PvE population came out + fairweathers due to what they see as easy pickings. So yea, its stacked against you pretty bad.

As a server, we still will not have good coverage during weekdays off-peak hours. We are strong during NA prime time (3pm – 11pm server time), beyond that we only have a skeleton crew at best, if that, especially Monday to Friday.

I know you have lost a lot if not all of your highly organized WvW guilds, I highly recommend for 2-3 people to temporarily transfer out to a much higher server, join / run with an organized guild, then come back and help you out. This will get your ball rolling again. Once you start wining fights (especially open field) and especially when there are 20 of you that can consitantly wipe up to 40-60 opponents, this will get more of your PVE ers and casuals in and snowball from there, but beware, it is a long process which will take months, do not expect to see results overnight.

Anyways, try to have some fun as much as possible under these circumstances.

I’m not really sure how I offended anyone by suggesting they watch RG vids. I think there is a pretty good consensus that RG was the best group to play this game. There are a number of other elite groups that post videos, but, generally they do not have comprehensive voice comms. The only reason the RG vids have comms is because they disbanded, and that is why I recommended them.

Good fights in and around Sm with [Myth] guild, you guys move great and nearly got SM with that flank.

HI 4 months ago, how are you??? hows that rock you’re living under? any good bugs under there? I really dig the glowey green ones they have the tonic’s for now a days.

also, wtf (underlined bit) would anybody need to transfer out to wipe you guys roflmao. unless there’s some magical formula that lets 1 person do the damage of 9000 it doesnt matter where any of us play; the 1:100 odds doesn’t matter whether the server match up is jq/bg/sor, sf/ioj/dh or ar/kn/whoever-vs-anybody your individual players ability to damage a larger group is limited. and you know this (or maybe you dont play much wvw and its why you’re giving this advice… who knows).

yea, 1v100 is not going to happen (not to mention server cap per team is <100), but 25v50+ is very possible without siege. With siege (superiors) 10v60+ is possible. The trick is to take advantage of aoe limits and not let the enemy rally.

The first post from your server is a comment on how the other two servers will make for a boring week for sf. Then comes a blatant recruitment for players from 2 servers that you are stomping. He also says that IF you transfer over, he’ll graciously show you noobs “how to play”. Then comes a comment on how Anvil Rocks are zerker noobs. Insert more posts on how everyone not from SF is “bitter and mad” next and how SF is so chill. Then SF starts talking about how the other 2 servers are crying and needing tubs to catch their tears. SF might be in the bronze league, but your server’s trash talking skills are certainly tier-1 material. Even if I was tempted to transfer over, after reading the kind of posts your community posts on matchup threads, I’ll say no thanks.

You’re not wrong. In fact, you’re absolutely right.

First of all, yes, one or two (and not more than that, thank you) posters from our server made some negative comments. Second, if you judge all of our server by that, then who is the hypocrite? But in your post you skip right over the blatant attacks and negativity from the other posters. Ironic is it not?

Like I said, nobody has said you do not have a right to be upset about someone posting, but look at it form all angles and not just down your nose.

From the angle I’m looking at most stacked servers don’t do the “sigh, it’s so sad now that I’m roflstomping everyone in wvw. Life will be boring.” When two other servers retaliate against that I clap and I say well done. The other servers might be negative, but when the representative statement from a server consists of “u mad bro? yes u mad. probably still mad. cry moar” how am I supposed to judged SF?

I only go after those that are gong after me or my server with no valid reason. He may have had a valid response to the one or two posters who said something before he did, but to go after all of SF for those forum warriors really just invalidates his rant.

I DID specifically say, “SF [forum] posters”, which is far from “everyone from SF”. I was deliberately attacking the forum warriors, you didn’t have to feel the need to include yourself in that category The mods went and made a mess of my posts afterwards anyway :/

On an unrelated note, Kain and AR should totally merge, we’d be the most OP server after that. We both have strong coverage right when the other server doesn’t.

If you want to brag about something wipe a guild group at least, and have some video to back it up.

Also every outmanned server in history as had “better players” and every server that has dominated PPT has had “mindless zergs of horri-bads”…Do you know why that is? Because it is fairly simple to figure out…..

Been having some fun 1v1 duels against AR and KN, most of them are on the jumping puzzles (I just want the achievement, kitten it guys stop jumping on my little necro T_T). Not complaining about it.

Man it’s been awhile since I’ve seen this many infractions at once but it was worth it.

SF still needs more bodies for times outside the US Pacific timezone primetime. If that is you and you want to come on over, we have both TS and Mumble and both can be configured for you to have your guild channel.

Hope the AR spy that pretended to play WoW in our TS learned a bit and transfers over soon!

Yeah I mean AR was rank 23 or 24 beating a server much higher ranked than them is pretty good I hope they and GoM keep it up.

I have to agree. AR has been the most challenging fights I have been in so far. Hats off to them for that Ogrewatch defense yesterday. The BLs have been rather slow but I think that is because of the coverage of STaR and others. Seems every time I pop into a BL that isnt ours I see Sir Shield capping the last keep that isn’t ours.

Keep up the good work SF, upcoming matchups will test us with servers that have better coverage.

Please note, I am not knocking Kain or AR at all, I think you guys are doing well with what you have. We just have more numbers.

We did an 11 hour run the day before at OW, and figured we would try for longer, and stayed for 16+ hours. Yes, when we do a dig in at a tower, you will for sure know it’s going to be a fun siege in order to flip it. Had to suicide on so many trebs on that hold. Have to admire then relentless tenacity from a few of those attempts on Ogrewatch. We’ll have to do a different tower next time, I need a change of scenery.

It’s funny, we keep telling you guys that we have less numbers than both servers. Just because we’re ranked 16 does not actually mean we have those numbers or anything remotely close to it. Our population is 1/4 of what is was 2 weeks ago so the fact that we even hold anything during NA prime is a miracle. On our best night we’ll field maybe 30-40 people total so we’re content with how we’re doing in our match-ups considering what we have. We may not win anything against your numbers, but we’ll always come out and fight.

Fairly sure you have about the same active WvW pop that AR does, possibly more. Most servers really have no idea as to the actual active population they are fielding. I tend to be on quite a bit, and 30-40 regularly would be welcome numbers.
