I got to revive you Magnetron. I jumped to TLA, because let’s face it JV is pretty much dead guild. TLA are Finns like me. We had blast and lots of aggressive runs after the reset at Deso BL. Pity we don’t have enough man power to do it more than 1 BL at a time. And even at our own BL VS and ER often outnumber us.

Just a little status update.

Good fun again in EB all day saturday, again it was going exteremly well until GD showed up and showed us how it’s done. Fairplay GD you guys seriously know what you are doing and i reckon you guys could quite easily take EU top guild.

With abit more pug organisation i reckon we can “sustain” you, until more get on TS and more listen we’re just walking lootbags haha

Dear Friend from Desolation (A little Asura on the Desolation central keep around 11 PM). It was very funny when you came to watch us open your keep and cheered for us. It was also very funny when we played cricket with you into your own gate. We would like to inform you that we left your empty keep to your server only because we liked you so much. I’m a little bit sad that you didn’t accept our group invite. I hope you had as much fun as we did, and you could be the first player ever who defended his keep only by being nice.

I would like to thank Ins for some great commanding in EB today. I had really fun all day and finished it off by running a few dolys to supply SM. Sadly I left a bit too early to see if it payed off. So did we ever get that WP up at SM or not?

Fun times in Viz borderlands today. We started with 10 people and ended up getting our side of the map eventually. We even got to assault cragtop at one point when we actually weren’t outmanned.

In the end lost our keep to 4 times bigger viz zerg. I guess we could have held it if we built 10 more arrow carts, but oh well.

Thanks to people in VZ borderlands for putting up an effort!

Elona can learn alot from Vizunahs fake attacks. Extremly well organized and timed, probably some of the best distractions you will see in WvW. To lure the main force away and capture a different objective quickly and efficently is very hard on these small maps, especially on EB. Even though we had two different raids with constant communication between both, they still managed to distract us a couple of times. Well done. After a while we were really paranoid when we saw Vizunah attacking something. “Is this a distraction? Where is the main attack?” Good fun

Thanks for the nice words, but we know we still have a lot to learn to compete with the best guilds out there. Pug raids have a natural disadvantage, because you never know what build your mates are playing or what gear they use, that difference is noticable all the time (on every server). But an organized Desolation pug raid is quite the pain, you have many skilled players and cope well with different situations.

I believe many players from Desolation are sick of the past weeks and beeing constantly outmanned. Hopefully you can recover your strenghts and get people back/together again, maybe a drop to T2 wouldn’t be the worst thing for Desolation…

Anyway, looking forward to more interesting fights this week.

We are actually sick of this already for several months. I have been having the outmanned “buff” on me most of the time already for many months. Outside the prime time we are often seriously outmanned. And even during primetime we can be really badly outmanned e.g. last night at ER BL. We had the outmanned “buff” on us. There was 20-30 ER and sometimes same amount of VS just outside our gates. For some reason our side wanted to take that tower so badly. I tried to suggest different strategy on map chat and organize the PuGs, but in fact ended up dying couple of times while typing. Oh well, no armor repair bills. :-)

Anet should wake up and immediately make the outmanned buff to give something useful for the weaker side to help to survive: added thoughness + health to NPCs, players and structures. But no bonus to attacking power as that would lead to excessive burst (e.g. imagine then outmanned thieves).

I myself enjoy unpredictable fights the best. Of course totally steamrolling the other is nice for a change, but in the long run even fights, where you cannot predict the winner in advance would be most interesting.

I don’t think we will get more players. Why would more players want to join the losing side? No matter what we do, we will be #3 this week. And dropping to tier #2 wouldn’t solve the problem. I am pretty sure SFR and Kodash will both have better coverage. With the current scoring WvWvW is all about coverage and numbers. The proper tier for Desolation would probably be tier #4 or something.

But we might get our PuGs a bit more organized. So far it is almost impossible to get PuGs on TeamSpeak and some of them don’t even talk English. Commanding them via map chat is difficult as the commander soon gets “your message has been suppressed due excessive messaging”. I can imagine ER and VS don’t have the language problem.

Actually it’s not impossible to get our pugs into teamspeak Deniara =). I was actively inviting people to join us and validated around 10 new people to our community teamspeak yesterday alone.

But as stated before, Desolation doesn’t currently have the manpower to fight on all borderlands at once. We’ve lost a good ~10 WvW guilds past months and that amounts to good 200-300 WvW players. Currently we have mostly PvX guilds and few smaller WvW guilds holding Desolation. A good opportunity i think is that we have some remnants of those WvW guilds staying in Desolation and getting them to join our active guilds could help out a lot. Currently our “zergs” consist of individual members from 20’ish different guilds which doesn’t really help that much organisation wise unless we get everyone to join teamspeak.

I do agree that our servers current WvW strenght is likely somewhere around tier 3-5, if even that. Hopefully ranking system gets updated soon and the european WvW rankings will become more accurate. I assume there are servers who are much more deserving to fight in tier 1 and tier 2 than us. This however is completely Arenanets issue to solve as with the current system servers are able to game the rankings to avoid correct movement of servers. I personally think a system of “winner moves up, loser moves down” would make that useless as there would always be movement and it would make the matchups much more fresh and exciting. Sure most servers would be battling mostly same 5-6 servers, but at least you wouldn’t be stuck fighting the same 2 for months on end.

Hopefully you Deso guys get replaced by JS by Friday.

This evening we had the outmanned “buff” on us ALL the time at Deso BL. I am sure we didn’t have 70 Deso players on our map. Funnily another Deso fighter called our 15 man TLA (Thousand Lake Alliance) team a huge zerg (we were all in TS).

Nowadays I most often play during morning and noon as there isn’t that annoying lag (yes, the lag is still there and this evening I saw quite a bit of very small distance rubberbanding as well). In the morning or noon I am really lucky to see a dozen people on my side. Sometimes just 2-3. But you know that 1 Deso player equals 2-3 VS or ER players. ;-)

Being outmanned 2 to 20 is very common complaint in our map chat and many people tell that they are sick and tired to fight against impossible odds. Time to wake up, Arenanet and give the weaker side something more than just +10% WXP buff. Besides what I am gonna do with that million plus karma?

It’s just not worth going onto any borderland map other than Deso at the moment and even that can be torture when outmanned. A group of 10 of us tried to have some fun on all 4 maps the other night, but everywhere we went a 30-40 Elona or Viz group would turn up to wipe us the moment we attempted to cap something. It’s really difficult for Deso outside of EB at the moment and no queue on any borderland map (5 mins max for Deso border).

Thankfully it looks like we will finally drop a tier after this week. Although we probably need to drop 2 or 3 and hope some of our old guilds come back. Wishful thinking…?

I disagree on this. Yesterday I started commanding on VS’ BL, was late afternoon-early evening. Started having nothing except a supply camp, with 15 people managed to get our tower + keep in less than half an hour. How? Quite simply, because no one showed up to defend, and that was weekend prime time. ER and VS “zergs” were fighting each other on the map, and since they both had no more than 40-50 people or so they couldn’t spare anyone to come and stop us.
Today we managed to hold our own on Deso BL until (around 14:00 CET) we lost everything to 10 (ten) Vizunah players. I was tagged up and could not get more than 3-4 other people on me. With a group of 20, we’d have easily held the northern half.

The truth is that while Elona and Vizunah certainly have a lot more players than us, at the moment there’s no EU server left with good coverage. A single hardcore WvW guild with 50 players constantly hopping maps would win the matchup almost by itself. It’s quite a sad state to behold.

Crazy evening/night in EB today, constant action when we got hit by elona and viz almost nonstop through whole evening. Thanks to all the Deso people for following! In the end i think our pug zerg was able to win most fights and even managed to take T3 SM in the end(although not me commanding anymore at that time).

I just checked every gate/wall – everything good – then the lord went down.
Also no Mesmer was able to be in there.

Deso in no sense is sitting on it’s backside must i remind you despite only having the capacity to man 1 and a half bl’s we can still show viz a thing or two about fighting whilst losing a war.

Friday reset one of [TLA] commanders leading the half populated out manned bl that is Deso successfully trolled the hell out of viz attempting to hold bay and actually did a victory lap before capping by opening both south and north outer, despite your number advantage you were merely walking loot bags. Even so whilst we did a mesmer sweep Elona came knocking on south outer and they too were sent packing.

Later that evening on EB [EXG] made swiss cheese of SM with 4-5 trebs and took the cap in the time from the new build warning till the game was pulled down.

Tonight another example we got news an Elona group was heading to Gods supply camp from the west the [AFTL] led group intercepted them just outside the archway and wiped them and went straight on into a viz group coming up from the path where the jumping puzzle is after about 5 mins of fighting your bigger group = more loot bags.

My guild has collected quite some footage whilst defending our bl that contradicts your claim. Yes we cannot win the War but we do not take the inevitable drop in tier lying down, we still bring the numbers we have left to fight multiple fronts, we face Viz in the East and Elona in the West and at times all at the same time, we have no reinforcements to call to save our Kitten like Viz, what we have is all we’re getting.

Elona have my respect they do not degrade us with petty comments like yours and they show true skill in the field they respect our position in this match as a small WvW populated server holding the line against unfathomable strength of opposition.

Iv been on a few servers in my time GH,BT,PS but not once have i witnessed such staying determination that represents the population of Desolation in refusing to back down quietly when the war is lost.

Thanks to everyone that turned out in Desolation Borderland . Though in the end we were crushed under foot of the viz and elona zergs the players of Desolation Borderland stood firm and fought out manned repeatedly through the night.

Its not your guys fault you combine every player world wide to make the perfect 24/7 blob machine, its Anet’s fault. But what to do about it huh :P

Because of this I only play WvW for my daily, because im already sick of it with the skill lag and insane blobbing 24/7 and I wont change server ( aka pay money ) to change a server where my PVE friends are to another server wich in the end will have the same problems. Its a money grabbing loop.

So guys don’t blame Vizunah and Jade players to play the game how they want it.

Maybe a tip for Anet, remove the EU or NA tags for servers, they have no purpose.
