Well, I guess even the most civil of WvW match threads can manage to be closed.

Let’s keep the good fight going.

It wasn’t actually that bad, bit of over zealous moderating IMHO. Still lets just play nice, children and try and be civil so we have a place to talk about the matchup.

Aye, I have no idea why the thread was closed. I even read several of the latest posts and I didn’t find one thing offensive – just some friendly trash talk that’s only healthy for a competitive environment. Maybe the moderator meant to close a different thread but mis-clicked?

Anyways, please see the final post of the closed thread if you wanna have some small, open-field fights tonight. (I don’t want to be infracted by a certain moderator for double posting into this new thread.)

I think the moderator was saying that the thread was not entertaining enough and must be closed. I would agree.

EB has been crazy for SBI since the latest patch. Who are you all people? Most of you newer walking loot bags should go to the border lands maps and learn a bit more about WvW/group dyanmics/movement etc, rather than mashing 1 in EB for hours upon hours and thinking you are doing something magical :P. Go run with Kiwi, or find Yulo, Friar or Werty and edgamacate yourselves PLEASE!!

Last week they started after the push on Bay started. It was seriously painful having to drag myself away from all of those bags.

My folks don’t do pre-arranged fights – for reasons I’ve explained in my previous posts – but if any small groups between 3-6 or so would like a good open-field fight but don’t want to stand around waiting for duels, send me a whisper and I’ll give you our exact location and you can try to hunt us down!

Also, all the [TKVA] folks have promised to share cookies with any group who can actually beat us with even numbers.

Noo! CD/SoS lets focus SBI so atleast we get EB into the matchup and change things up. Time to take things into our own hands and bring EB up. SBI/EB are 1 rating point apart

How does the glicko work, would pushing CD up cause SBI to lose points due to expected outcome?

Basically your relative ratings gives you a projected number of points you’ll have at the end of the week. If you do better than that, you gain rating. If you do worse than that, you lose rating. Instead of fighting against the other worlds for score, at the moment you’re fighting against whatever score you chalked up the week before.

Accordingly if you want one world to move down in ratings, you have to deny them points specifically, rather than just doing well yourself.

Yep. So let’s keep SBI ppt close to 0 as possible for tonight and tomorrow. It doesn’t matter if CD has 400 ppt or SoS has 400 ppt as long as SBI is under 50. Sorry but we need to change things up.

the only damage control i’ve seen is you ceasing your steam, which was a good idea given your propensity to rage quit when downed in 1vs1 fights combined with the bizarre commentary (calling opponents peppermints and such…)

Woah there, I know you’re desperate for approval of your stream, but if you carefully reread what I posted, you will find that did not occur. Unless of course, you think of the criticism pointing out the nonsensical stream commentary and your multiple incidents of rage quitting as “patronage”? If that’s the case, that’s a low bar you’ve set for yourself.

I would honestly love to answer this challenge but unfortunately my small-man group has pretty much left GW2 altogether.

Thaaat said… if you guys really want to get more even number fights you should stop trying to withdraw, stealth, and then dogpile on overextending stragglers whenever people finally gather enough random people together to push. I mean sure it’s a completely valid strategy which works and all, but it’s not exactly the sign of wanting even fights ;-)

I’m just sad that without my teammates, when I do down one of you guys I usually end up focus fired by thieves and rangers then feared or otherwise CC’d in the opposite direction while my allies run around ineffectively :-(

Is it confirmed that the new matchup system will not take effect this reset? I am really looking forward to fighting EB, they are so OP for tier 5 that they might even be better than SoS

I can assure you that if I’m running with 3 or 4 of us and I see 3 – 5 enemies, we will engage. We don’t withdraw, stealth, then dogpile close to even numbers.

However, if we are running 3 or 4 strong and we see 8+ enemies (or a zerg) running straight for us (which is most of the time), our strategy really depends on the guild tags of the enemies who are approaching us. If we recognize the tags as formidable foes, we’ll string out the overzealous and dispatch them quickly making the odds more even. If, however, we recognize the tags as enemies that have not given us a challenge in the past, we’ll engage and take our chances even outnumbered 2:1.

That said, there are several nights when we’re only 3 strong causing havoc in the borderlands. Even if you’re running with just 2 friends just send me a whisper. I’m sure we’ll make it possible that we’ll find each other.

To be honest I reckon there will be more movement out of those overstacked t1/t2 servers over the coming weeks when (if?) this new system starts up. Hopefully CD and SBI get some love.

Pick it up CD/SoS, we at 210 points atm but are about 6 points behind EB. Would be great to get a fresh match up since the new system wont be in place this week. Show those1337 skills.

It was a fun week minus the no-siege debacle on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning.

I’m okay staying in this tier for another round about, the fights are good and the forum posts are pretty enjoyable to read, even if the moderator doesn’t think so. Maybe we should talk more like tier 1 servers?

So.. just a little post…

Yes, FoE is on SoS. We made the move earlier this week, with a few people still farming the gold. We brought over ~15 people and are recruiting more. I’ve kept in contact with Rooster and Luvpie for the longest time so I felt that SoS was a good move for us. ET was great for what it is, a mostly PvE server with lots of small, roaming groups and a mindless zerg. This isn’t what FoE does sadly. We want great competition and honestly, this week has been a blast and we are looking to boost the NA presence (which honestly is amazing already).

FoE never had a “trainee guild”. The Ascension Alliance days.. oh yes… We were actually a bigger build when we were on SoS for the run of 9 T1 wins than we were in the AA era. Can’t believe it has been that long already haha. We are here to stay, with gem prices so high and with WvW being what it is… moving server isn’t going to happen again.

But yeah, we saw a KWBH guy and sorry, but we had to kill you

I’m really happy with the move so far and have gotten a nice response from guildies as well. Like I said, we are looking to expand and become that force on the battlefield we once were, if any SoS NA guilds want to work together, feel free to PM me.

I do recall seeing a Fist of the Empire recruit [FoEr] tag when you guys first moved to SoS after AA broke down. I’m looking forward to play with your guild when I see you guys on.

Yes, I tried to explain without going into too much of how FoE is run, that is our “PR Guild” or our Potential Recruits. Back in the AA days we had 2 guilds, FoE Proper – for established Guild members from other games and FoE PR – which is for new recruits specific to the GW2 chapter of FoE. [FoER] is only really used for extra boosts at random times.

We are very excited to be here again and looking forward to rekindling old connections and establishing new ones.

EDIT: Our choices were servers where we had upgraded guilds, SoS or BG. Frankly we don’t have the numbers for BG and T1 again so SoS seemed like a no-brainer.

Hooray for the other servers getting transfers while we don’t! It’s going to be great to be back in T5 again. Our last adventure there had DR crying night and day about our “coverage”, hah! Love it.

It is a tiered system, not every server can have transfers and influx of people. I don’t speak for KWBH, who transferred to CD, but you have to look at where we came from. The new math for servers in T8 does nothing, we will still be put up against the same servers week in and week out. ET already had the smallest WvW population so staying on that server when your guild is very WvW oriented is a recipe for disaster. It doesn’t have the support system that other servers do.

I’d rather not get transfers then to get them and be stuck in a tier in which you aren’t competitive. A couple transfers for SBI isn’t going to instantly make T4 a fight to the finish, it just means the other servers will recruit more and play longer. Just look at T1.

I fully understand how WvW works (been there, done that), I am legitimately happy that we’re going down, and am legitimately glad you guys got transfers to be more competitive with respect to each other. Hell, I like the fact that we have no WvW guilds at all; we’re a pub server who works together really well and our community is great. That’s all that really matters.

Sorry, typical internet where you can’t tell tone. I thought you were complaining about not getting transfers and while SoS was. And just after discussion of us transferring, I wanted to explain our move to prevent any bad blood.

Well, for what it’s worth, hats off to SBI. You’ve been good opponents and I hope the more NA-centric play of T5 will be more fun for you guys. I wouldn’t be surprised if we did bump into each other again in future, but good luck until then.
