What’s up people? How are you? I like pie too. Isn’t that funny?

WvW is a format of PvP. PAXA and other small man groups kill people. That’s PvP. It is also WvW. What’s to say that the straggler they kill wasn’t on his way to solo flip a camp or do some other nefarious deed? BOOM, they get him. Camp defended. WvW and PvP accomplished.

The argument here seems to be about e-honor. There is none. It is impossible to play by a set of moral rules that you may have and expect others to do the same.

Does it suck? Maybe. Doesn’t make it less true though. To be honest. It is pretty hard to be snuck up on in this game unless you truly aren’t paying attention – the camera swivels 360 degrees.

I play WvW. If I wanted to PvP I would go play in that sandbox. This is large scale war fare, World vs. World with objectives and strategy. I don’t go take troops to go kill stragglers. I try to stop them from doing it, not that many of them bother to listen. It’s a waste of resources and takes away from our goal at hand. Don’t get me wrong, I am all about the fights. I fight with with an actual purpose in mind. Not to just jack some random kid for lunch money because he happened to be in my way. I don’t play this game like a punk kitten.

Personally, I laugh my butt off when I read about people want 5 man groups. or small man groups, but don’t sPvP, they go to wvw. I mean really, Anet builds an entire system just for small group battles and people run off to WvW wanting small group battles? What the? Seriously, like What the?

I mean if they were talking “small group battles” to mean 20 vs 20, like they do on the upper tiers, then I could see where they are coming from, guilds like Agg, and VK, now moved up to where they belong, were “small group” but, they were still in the 10 – 15 range for a “small group” which is way too large for sPvP, but when you see people go Oh we do 5 man small groups" for WvW you have got to question why, and the only real answer you can come up with, is their small group can’t really handle other small groups like sPvP teams that do the same thing. So they go to WvW to kill the random soloer and feel all mighty about themselves. And we are supposed to do anything more then laugh and sigh at this kind of antic.

Meh, anyway, no big either way, They need to camp a soloer because that is all they can handle, then that is.. what is.

Clearly you have ZERO idea where we are coming from. That’s ok, its a 100 step ladder and you are around rung 5 in the “tiering” of pvp skill.

Edit: So I don’t just come off as a “hater” I will reiterate something for you, PAXA actually enjoys FIGHTING good to better players than ourselves. We challenge ourselves against large numbers, but have more fun fighting small groups of equal or better personal skill. We have no interest in PPPTTTT or whatever you guys call it. We picked up GW2 because it’s the closest open world platform to DAOC in 5-7 years. We are here to compete daily, not socialze, PPPTTT, or “gank solos” lol.

They look down their noses at anyone else who plays differently, but as a ruminant (ie, bull, moose, dolyak and so on) a quarter of the time on the field, my nose will always be longer than yours unless you join in my shenanigans, ease up on the sphincter a bit and quit being all uptight and self righteous. It’s a game folks – a game where some like to take objectives, some like to kill some like do all of the above and be silly doing it.

While other teams move about the maps, they are moving from Objective to Objective , IE: Looking to claim or defend Camps, Keeps, Towers, to win or secure points for their side and thus ensure Victory for their server. Fighting and engaging players other players is a secondary concern, or a course hazard if you will.

If these groups overrun or kill a single player, it was a case of wrong place, wrong time for that player, and I’ll admit, I have felt bad about steamrolling some player as they come out of a camp while we are moving towards it to claim it, but none the less, the player was in our path, and thus they were killed. But in the end of things, that was not the groups intent to gank that player, that was not why they went out to fight that day, or why they play WvW. Their goal is to claim points for their side via objective holding and capping.

Then, you have PAXA that goes out just looking to gank players.

We had a guild here on ET, called Agg, (They transferred down to T8) they were a 10 – 15 man guild that would Zerg Hunt, they did what Paxa tries to do. They would go out with their small group and fight zergs 4 to 5 times their size, and win. Now Agg moved up to where they belong again, because T8 was not really a challenge for them, so, if PAXA thinks they are anywhere near efficient of even good because they can gank players on T8.. Ummm.. well..

Spend 10 minutes in PAXA vent. They aren’t out there to “Gank players” They are out there to find other small groups and have competitive fights.

If that was the case they would sPvP, not WvW. Unless they could not handle sPvP. There is always that.

I love reading smack talk by T8 players as they try to sound good, to use a sports analogy, it’s like watching people brag about their badminton skills, I can’t bring myself to be impressed no matter how hard I try.

Spvp is terrible…its not fun….and its not even deathmatch. I dont care about who can hold a circle longest….i care about KILLING OTHER PLAYERS. Get the point dude.

I mean, hey when SF kicked our kitten all over the place, they were there to take points and play the game as it was meant to played. You were all like “hey nice Garrison, that’s 20 pt, soooooooo… how many of you do we need to kill to take it” and then you would go about finding out.. on a bad day.. it was PvD, on a good day.. you killed us all.

1) sPvP is a point game, not a PvP game. It is like Headquarters in Call of Duty, you could go 0-0 and still win, it’s player vs point, not player vs player.

2) Guilds who want to fight roaming in small groups CAME to T8 because they could actually function without zerg-dodging every 10 minutes.

Isn’t that actually HELPING their server on the macro scale?? “Dont go to south camp, PAXA is there” therefore no one retakes that camp in fear of being killed or a huge zerg goes to the camp to retake it, meanwhile they (PAXA) is at the north camp flipping it.

PAXA is like many PvP guild, they want to kill PEOPLE, not lay siege to a tower for hours on end. Take it for what is it worth, personally, I’d like to roll with PAXA sometime, 2 5-man groups can do a lot of damage if organized.

They revamped sPvP so that killing players awards points now, so you can in fact fight Meat grinder style for points and not even bother with holding objectives.

Laughable. We had [Agg] on ET, and they Transferred down for this reason, and then moved back up because T8 is too easy, on every level. Sorry, but this is a lame excuse. In fact [Agg] after a week here used to go Zerg Hunting just to challenge themselves. If there was any real desire for skills and challenge, T3 or T4 is where they would move to, if they could hack it.

While we had [Agg] on ET, however, they did exactly what PAXA did, but they used to take Keeps and Towers to incite a fight with SF. yah, SF, the guys that made you run and cry to mommy, they used to go hunt. So, they were better for us then PAXA is for HoD, but even then, [Agg] while they left on good terms, and I have nothing but respect for them,their leaving did not affect the balance of the game at all. 1 tower, 1 keep? for a few hours. What does PAXA give? A Camp? LOL.

Seriously, the truth is, like it or not, if they stopped playing for a week, no one would notice and the points would not change. So, Like, love them, or even ignore them, they don’t affect your WvW outcome or what tier you are on.

As for their forum bragging, well. to use another spots analogy, is like watching the gym class kids brag about their Kick Ball skillz. No matter how good they think they are, they are still just the bottom rung of the gaming ladder.

because all i ever see them do is take the occasional camp, and then hang around waiting for the single/dual camp flipper team to show up. OR hang out on the road between a tower and a camp waiting for supply runners. i never see them join in with actually helping out with a large field battle, or a tower siege, or a keep defense. forgive me, but i don’t need that kind of “help”. it would be a totally different story if i actually noticed you pitch in and do the other things also… but based on what i’ve been able to observe, despite your protestations to the contrary, your actions reek of “solo-ganking” and not much else.

Next I almost never roam unless I’m on my Ele but I’m usually on my warrior commanding and I prefer taking objectives and getting points.

Lastly, you’re insulting the people who move to FC to look for small fights by saying that you don’t much care for them.

Yet again, numerous people flinging insults toward us. I would like to thank Runamok, Ungood, Parktou, Geoski, and katz for all criticizing us despite the fact that we have not directed anything your way before. Go ahead and throw the victim card out there while we defend ourselves, it’s what people normally do on these forums when they feel justified in bashing us out of the blue.

We consistently run one of the smallest groups on this server, and yet people feel the need to comment on us attacking players in smaller numbers. Despite the fact that we run in a size that is smaller than 95% of the player base, it’s wrong for us to kill a player who happens to be in our way. The hypocrisy of this situation is laughable, but I’ll go ahead and explain it for those who continue to have trouble with this.

Our goal is not to find stragglers or solo players and kill them. We all realize that our group killing a solo player takes no skill, and is clearly not a challenge. We don’t come to the forums to brag about it, and we don’t even comment on it when it’s happening in game. And unlike most of the zergs who chase us across the map, we’re not going out of our way to hunt down players in this situation. You happen to be in our way, so you’re going to die. I think it’s funny that we get specifically mentioned, when these same players probably get killed doing the exact same thing against far greater numbers. It’s ok if 15-20 kill me, just not PAXA’s 5, because I don’t like the way they play the game.

We play this game to fight other player’s. We don’t care about the score, because Anet has a horrible reward system that offers the same thing for finishing 1st in tier 1 as you get for finishing 3rd in tier8. It’s an endless loop of frustrating, repetitive gameplay that is clearly defined by how many numbers you have, and what kind of 24/7 coverage you have. I’m sorry that anyone is offended by us not wanting to take towers, we just choose to fight actual players.

Listen, we’re not looking for any sympathy when a group of 40 chases us across the map. We know what we signed up for when we roll with 5, just as someone solo should when they’re standing alone. The less numbers you roll with, the murkier situations are going to be when a zerg rolls by. However, we like to fight against greater numbers as that’s one of the few challenging aspects of this game. Our goal is to fight against other like-minded groups, but zerg busting is fun from time to time.

I’m sorry some of you have problems with how we play, I really am. But anytime you come to the forums and criticize us, take a moment to realize who starts all this garbage. We’re not the ones going out of our way to criticize individual players/guilds/servers… you are.

I would like to remind everyone that our duel day is on FC border at the windmill(below south camp) tonight.

Weird we have small man teams moving from t1 to t8 to have good fights and not deal with 60+ zerg. Sorry to break it to ya but tiers = population not skill.

You’re kidding yourself if you think there’s any difference in talent between the tiers. The players here in tier8, are just as good as any other tier. The difference between tiers is the number of players and coverage. We’ve played in each tier, and at no point have we found any difference in the level of talent. The only thing that’s been higher, is the amount of skill lag, and we’ll pass on that.

Given that you’ve probably never left ET, you likely have no room to even comment on this.

The only rewards are during the match from getting points. You get things like increased gold per kill and what not. There is no other reward but pride for winning.

Think of it this way guys. If PAXA was on your server, would you dislike them?

Isn’t that actually HELPING their server on the macro scale?? “Dont go to south camp, PAXA is there” therefore no one retakes that camp in fear of being killed or a huge zerg goes to the camp to retake it, meanwhile they (PAXA) is at the north camp flipping it.

PAXA is like many PvP guild, they want to kill PEOPLE, not lay siege to a tower for hours on end. Take it for what is it worth, personally, I’d like to roll with PAXA sometime, 2 5-man groups can do a lot of damage if organized.

helping? yes and no. like i said, i’ve only seen them hang out on roads… not actually go and, you know, take the northern camp like you suggest. while they do temporarily block access to one camp, it just means gotta run to a different one… so at best its a delay. meh. color me unimpressed

if you’ll read my post again, i did compliment your skills at killing people remarkably fast. i’ll admit, you guys do work quite well as a small tight knit team. that doesn’t mean you are not really annoying to face. while everyone is certainly welcome to play however they want, please forgive me if i am not impressed by your chosen MO, and forgive me again if i simply avoid you on the field instead of feeding you bags. i don’t see a point trying to attack you or even try to pass by when i am alone.

Exactly, and since it is impossible to take first without having the highest Ptt for the longest time. So you get more for holding 1st then you do for being 3rd.

It’s a backhanded compliment filled with obvious shots directed at our play style in which you felt you needed to come to the forums with. If you find us annoying to face, that’s fine, then don’t fight us. However, you felt the need to take shots at us only for the sake of making you feel better. None of us took shots at PK, because all it would do is make you look bad for the sake of making us feel better. We could, but that’s not what we’re trying to do here. You decided that was what you wanted to do, which is why I mentioned you.

At no point were any of us asking you to be impressed with our style of play. That’s an asinine assumption that you’ve made on your own. Go back and reread most of this thread, and realize that it’s a member of PK taking a shot at PAXA, not the other way around.

Look at Skarloc.2569, his rant post at me was pure comic gold. I mean, I never said it was a lot, only that it was not the same. I proved my point and he just goes off into a ranting fit. This is boasting, pure and simple, and…. not true at all.

Having run with and against guilds from T1 and T2 that took time to come down to T8 during the free transfers (The time mend Moved to HoD), I can say without any question that there are massive disparities between what T1 on fields in regards to skill, talent, and gearing, then what T8 puts out. So can FC, and SF for that matter.

Again, not boasting at all. We’re from tier1 as well and the overall level of skill between tiers is very much the same. In fact, there are several teams on this tier from tier1, and with transfers being as open as they have been, every server is littered with people from across all tiers, which once again proves my point that all of the tiers have a similar level of skill.

Think I will just place this here >> backs away slowly as to avoid the forum warriors 0_o
