whoever this HoD ranger is, i must have made quite the impression last night at Sunny tower... they danced on me till i was forced to withdraw due to the inactivity timer. i of course was LOLing pretty darn hard the whole time, as while they were busy dancing on a lone asura, their BL was slowly flipping red around them.

you got wiped, but the fact you’re gonna brag about “wiping” a group while Arrowcarts are still crazy OP atm… I face more HoD arrowcarts than I do HoD, ill be impressed when you wipe without the arrowcarts.

I actually get to fight Fergs head to head without running into an arrowcart…HoD on the other hand…

HoD: Immediately sets down 3 superior arrowcarts and stays behind them while spamming emotes!

all in all hope Arrowcarts get fixed soon and I can get back into enjoying WvWv..eh.
So what do you do when your opponent puts down AC’s in the open field?
1. You stand in AC fire range engaging the enemy and die?
2. You remember that AC’s have a minimum fire distance as well a maximum. So you split your group up and bum rush from multiple sides.
3. You back off and build balistas and LOL right back at them.
4. You completely disengage the enemy and let them stand on their AC’s for hours while you do actual productive work on the battlefield.
There is one bad choice here… And I know thats the choice we would likely make.
Granted there are some more sneaky open field tactics that could be employed with open field AC deployment, I just don’t think anyone here is smart enough/coordinated enough to pull them off.

If possible, would like to invite leaders of BS, FoE, SeT, WZ, SNKY, Deth, and any other small man groups that enjoy competitive pvp atmosphere in open worlds to our t8 pvp platform meeting this weds night at 930 est.
The meeting is to discuss making our pvp tier more enjoyable and mostly more competitive. Even if you feel your core is more casual it will be worth the time to hear what the small competitive guilds are discussing. Our goal is to shift focus daily to one or two maps (instead of all 4) to consolidate fighting, to promote more roaming / guild vs guild fights and fights up north, and also to have those two maps on a rotating system so it changes each day. We are also setting up a “guild pot” system so we can bring back the couple dedicated guilds that move due to server shift from the tier. This is our first official t8 meeting, just wanted to invite as many small competitive groups as possible.
For those guilds interested please PM me (either in game or on forums) and I will get you the PAXA vent info. Some of the guilds here already have it, get involved if you do not. Compared to any other tier, this is hands down already the most competitive as far as non-Zerging groups.
Having been subjected to SF for a few weeks, I doubt it since I’ve yet to see HoD/FC/ET threads closed once let alone 4-5 times. Not all SF’s fault, but to label all of HoD with your tacky name choice shows YOUR classlessness. However, I won’t hold it against your server since I’ve had some great fights with them.

believe you know, SF, the server you all ran and hid from (according to your Post ) when they came crashing though. Yah we battled them endlessly on T8, never giving up, no one could even dent our moral at this point.
Anyone putting value to the score would be a fool.
All 3 of our servers are in tier 8, the lowest tier. We are here because we have the least amount of people and the least amount of coverage. We will not win the score game. Tier 1 servers have more people online during their down-times than any of our servers have during reset night.
Competing for score in this tier is similar to competing in a “light-weight, strength competition” One of us may lift a 6 pound weight while the other may only be able to live a 5 pound weight. It really isn’t something one should try and brag about.
Instead, put value in what happens on the battlefield. Win a tough 1v1? Well done. Win a good group v group fight? Keep at it. Defeat and enemy zerg with your zerg? Good stuff. Take a well defended keep from the enemy or defend one from an overwhelming amount of attackers? Good job.
Put value in those challenges that you have overcome, instead of looking at the scoreline, as it is a better measure of success.

Anyway, I got frustrated in ET BL and went to the shame-corner in LA. Now I’ll be afk for a while.
Just wanted to thank my fellow server mates as well as the opponents on ET BL this afternoon for my first day as a commander. The dream was the waypoint in hills – we got close but not quite.
Maybe if we hadn’t committed so much to Bay as well but it was a solid siege deservedly held back by ET and much needed practice.
So FC got a new Guild or they have been hiding. War Zone. It was fun fighting you all even tho I had a pug zerg so we need to set up a play date when I can get more people on but really good fight haven’t had one of those in awhile. Thank you to the LK that came to help out

So you are telling me that people that compete in the lower categories are just a bunch of losers that cannot compete on higher ones?
Well lets be honest with ourselves, our best showing on most nights would be called “small group battles” on the upper tiers.
Just saying.
Still, he’s not giving merit to those who win “equal fights” just because they aren’t on the top category.
Ehh, That’s not what I got from it.
From what I read He’s saying that we can’t judge the ability of a sever by the points because we all have gaps in coverage, thus, we can’t use the score as a base for how strong or weak we are when we meet, but only as a means to see who has the largest coverage gaps.
Personally I thought he was trying to say that we should Enjoy the equal fights as they are all that matters in this tier and let the score be whatever it is.
Good folks fun to duel and fight have a few on friends list.
If you are wondering and I’m sure you, they think PAXA is a hard fight at least a couple of them commented when you hit them while they were trying to take a tower from Ferg last night.
They do play objectives so are not leveling chars specifically to make ideal WvW group vs group team makeups like PAXA does, still they would probably group v group if you wanted.
And I know thats the choice we would likely make.
