I saw your D/P build that you use and honestly, you should be using D/D instead. The lack of ini regen and stealth buffs defeats the point of using D/P.

Nah. Ever since Dancing Dagger nerf, dagger off-hand has been pretty bad.

The utility that Headshot and Black Powder bring are far superior to what the Dagger offhand can provide. Shadowshot is also much more useful than death blossom.

Hmm, I see. I just don’t think that running D/P without +2/sec ini regen and +2 ini on stealth is very safe cause to open with stealth you’re already dumping 9 of your 15 initiative which imo is dangerous since you have no ini regen boosts. D/P skills are generally quite high ini req. skills so for me having +3ini/sec regen and +2 ini on stealth is a must. I don’t like initiating pre-fight stealth with my utilities cause I generally reserve them for mid combat. Imo, sacrificing the 25 in DA for 25 in SA is worth it for the extra survivability you get.

D/P can stay in stealth forever when no one is around. That alone should tell you some thing.

Before it was shortbow that was a must have for all thieves. Now its D/P.

Because stealth is oh so useful when no one is around… D/P is the flavour of the month though I really don’t know why. It’s an amazing build to troll people with and that’s about it. Far FAR less dangerous than a glass cannon D/D thief, or a P/D condition spammer.

D/P is a hard counter to a P/D condition spammer. D/D is just all round squishy and gets a lucky backstab when you’re not looking.

I’ll believe that when I see it. I find it hard to take a build seriously that does bugger all damage while remaining so fragile that a well timed breeze causes death. The micro managing the constant stealth is a pain in the kitten as well.

Either you don’t know how to spec/gear for it or you’re bad at it. I did great with it before I got bored with it as I prefer a different play style. Though I still keep it as my off set even though I’m not speced for it any more. It’s not crazy backstab damage. But it still hurts the damage they can out put and its survivability insane. You are basically condition immune and your enemy is blinded/dying.

This matchup is really boring now…

I am gonna propose that after 11:00 EST that CD and SBI have a truce… I will take it even further to say I will not take CDs towers and will concentrate on taking what I can of SOS. I will stay on my side of the map, unless its to come help wipe the sos zerg seiging your towers. You guys concentrate on Klovan we will concentrate on WC.

Lets make 11pm EST onwards interesting as opposed to just waiting for our stuff to be taken. Before everyone starts harping that some people wont know about the truce and it will be very difficult to do or organize… I will lead by example, if and when I am leading take note CD.

By no means does this mean I will not engage you guys if I see your zerg I still need my loot, and you guys need yours if you wipe us kudos to you guys. I will not engage your zerg if you are seiging SOS, hopefully we can seige them together.

To any SOS who doesnt like this voice up, but those voicing up are those who prefer PvD and I really dont care about your opinion no offence.

At the end of the day this is just a suggestion so do whatever the kitten you wanna do.

I think DoggyPaddle’s suggestion is worded reasonably. He will not seek confrontation with CD or go into that part of the map. He will still kill CD players if he sees them, but he won’t make an effort to do so. If a few commanders did this – if would not stop the fighting but would at least limit it.

Sorry if my writing is a little confusing. I WILL seek confrontation with everyone on the map I AM looking for fights and to kill people. Your towers will be spared is what I meant by I will not “come to your side of the map”. You will see me on your side of the map as often as possible when I see orange swords over there. I will NOT engage you when you are seiging or taking an SOS objective.

Fair enough So we can narrow it down to “You will not start a three way when an SOS objective is being taken. Open field is fair game.”?

I can say so for myself I can’t speak for my server, but those usually following me at that time of the night are pretty good. Hopefully SOS will want this too as opposed to PVDing us to death.

I think the most fun I’ve had these past two weeks is when SoS is sieging QL from Stonemist with their group and then we roll through ogres, take umber, and then roll over Durios and move on Bravost. If I had to truce with anyone it’d be with SoS because CD is too much fun to kill and they love their ACs, so it really turns into legitimate siege warfare. SoS is good fights when we can field even numbers, but it’s an absolute pleasure to see CD squirm.

I say we have a race to take SOS keep in their borderlands. CD take one side, while SBI takes another side. Stay to your side of the pond. MUST turn everything your color on your side. Then hit their garrison from your side and have some fun three ways in SOS lords room. North supply is not in the equation.

Looking at BL’s map, start from Spawn tower/camp on your side, then Hills/Bay then NW/NE camp, NW/NE towers and then Garrison three way kittening. Bored as hell in WvW so all for this Berm.

Last thing I would like to add is lets expect this to fail right off the bat so no one gets their panties in a bundle and has any expectations. OH very important this is a weekday thing I think both CD and SBI field descent numbers on the weekend even Friday so all is fair game in my eyes on the weekend.

At this point in the week, points are for care bears. 3vs1 is not so bad. Or was it 2vs1? Cause unless you have 3 times the numbers of your opponent you should never engage them in open field battles.

Well, of course I don’t speak for the server, nobody does. Points may be kittens to you and your guilds, but there are people and big guilds who care about the server standings, so to each their own, no right or wrong. That said, we don’t just sit in towers and sleep. SoS can attest to that, the number of clashes they have had with us in the open

If you and your friends are looking for skirmishes, roll on to SoS BL, nobody goes there anyway, turn some stuff blue and you will have for yourself some fight =)

I guess that means every other thief that uses it(every second one since its meta) also isn’t speced for it and doesn’t know what the kitten they’re doing? It’s the ultimate troll build, and you’re a self confessed troll so it doesn’t shock me that you love it. >_>
Also really any thief build should be virtually immune to conditions and be able to spam blind (with c&d) they aren’t hard to trait for

Think I’ve seen that group from time to time. Pretty much the only CD squad I’ve come across so far that fights and wins with inferior numbers… in fact the only one on any server in this matchup.

Looks like CD won the race, lol. Was on my lvl 45 ele with Berm in EB, farming SoS and CD. Some great fights for a good hour +. Much fun. Don’t think we had many on last night outside of EB, which was at about half of our regular population. See how our population is next week. People seem to be losing interest in WvW, which I get.

Yeah, what happened last night CD? Y’all went on a rampage. Good to see.

It was just a good night. I know my guild had a couple old officers who we never see log hop on last night after a month or 2 of absense so we were in full force having a good time on SoS BL and apparently we had a small group that pushed SBI BL. Our initial successes and word of my guild having some well known community members logging in probably stirred up a bunch or guilds and more casual WvW players and I think it just snowballed from there. I think both SoS & SBI were lacking numbers a bit more than usual last night as well at least from my perspective, which probably added to the outcome of the push.

Oh, and who’s up for a fight night tonight?

Nice job last night, CD. We were all asleep at that hour (as usual), but I’m genuinely curious where the SoS oceanic population was. Normally they dominate that hour and turn everything green.

More than anything, I wish we could hold a bloody keep the entire week. After Sunday it just doesn’t feel worth it dumping gold I’d rather spend elsewhere on upgrading something that just flips when I go to bed.

Nice job last night CD! was sad to see our waypoint in SM gone.
Also you guys put up some amazing fights in EB today when we tried to take your keep, good defence use have got there. Even if it means all those ACS Anyway good job guys was fun keep it up
