Awesome! Another week of lootbags and our chance to improve ourselves serverwide! I want it to be known that not everyone on Desolation feels that this is a “curse”. It’s rather a chance for us, cause in some weeks/months when we finally beat down Vizunah from that #1, it will be Vizunah which is cursed.

Some parts of Desolation is on the uprising, and we will fight until the last minute! Hope for a good week with both Augury rock & Vizunah.

Oh well at least we’ve at least faced two new servers thanks to the RNG but Anet needs to do something about this soon, we want a matchup we can realistically win or be close to winning after all these months.

All the best to all servers and some protips that may help our french vizunah buddies:
1. Running away from a fight while outnumbering the enemy is not a good idea
2. Defending fulltime with 10 ac’s per tower may give you more points, but will be a bitttt boring
3. Dont be a zombie

tbh, I’ve actually thought of setting up an ingame charity called “Help the Deso’s” where charitable people send siege blueprints to members of Desolation.

For now we have evenings slots filled on most of the maps, things getting better with time – good that we face other new enemies besides Viz, from time to time.
Other timezone fighters probably welcome (mornings), ofc if they are interested in messing up Viz plans to get every possible tower/keep to T3 before evening :P Little boost is never a bad thing but not too much, better not to get mega stacked and have endless queues/blobs. And if noone would join, we work on it on our own anyway

As for reset – mine was on EB – rly nice, gg to Haley and later Beatrix for commanding and all who followed/upgraded & sieged up towers

Honestly I don’t really care about competing with Viz we’re unlikely to get many more guilds with the 1800 gem cost really we’ll just need to make do with what we have and work efficiently and organized. Even then seems we lack something during prime time on one map where we lost Deso Garri, we’ll be fine once we actually get a matchup we can compete to win but we’ll still be competing the best we can.
It was a interesting reset night but we’ve got to be realistic that we’ll have less people during the mornings and esp the weekdays but at least be interesting to fight Augury Rock who kinda got screwed by the RNG themselves.

This is the new super exciting new matchmaking system at work. Out of 7 matchups since the new system was introduced Deso has been fighting Vizunah 4 times and Elona 2 times. During all these games we’ve been either 6th or 7th and have been matched with 1st or 2nd.

gg to anet for having some awesome formula dudes that know how to do their job. i think you’re all really great at making nice quaggan backpacks.

[WAR] will raid on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday .
We are running 25man and dont really care about siege, always looking for goods fights in open field !

You were very well organised, I was impressed with your regrouping. We had the better of the first meeting at Faithleap, but the two after that was rather painful to say the least.

Deso actually has something of a resurgence at the moment. Prime time was always our main strength, but we’ve got a good bunch of regulars on the night crew and the past two or three weeks we’ve had some really strong performances at night (painting the Viz BL blue tonight has been great fun)

Well I don’t know what’s happened tonight but it seems Viz has at least a 30 man Karma train running around that earlier reset our T3 hills on AR borderlands which ourselves EXG and TLA to name a few worked hard for during our evening raids yet they’ve let their whole BL turn blue. Morning/Night capping takes effort esp on our part, but not really skill just coordination and communication.
Also Anet should do something about Golems on the TP they are ridiculously cheap and it’s being easily abused it’s frustrating trying to defend against multiple golem rushes.

Just taken the lead at 0:500am, Seems desolation can still kick some ass:) goodjob guys!

Deso was forged in a pit so deep the fires burn downward. Only the hardest of the hard core remain. This is the heart of our spirit. It has been so long now, against impossible odds, that the point of no return has been crossed too many times… Deso will never go down.

I thought Anet had the best people in the industry, well i am sorry but if u let Desolation fight vs Vizunah every kitten weekend then Anet really need to consider to fire Devon and hire someone capable to make a fair match up system.

Seriously..

Fire the whole WvW staff, hire some young people with imagination and ideas! That will spice up the game

10-11 months and all WvW has seen is :

- removal of culling ( shouldnt be culling from the start)
- removal of game mechanic (the orb)
- Added a rank system + progression system ( they made that in 2 days? )

Please Colin, get some new people with new ideas!

that vizunah “blob” running away from guards is no blob. thats 30 man viz sniper team.

I should record a video of all these runnings away. And put Benny Hill music.

Props up to AR. You guys seem really nice from what I’ve experienced during the first 24 hours of the match up. Even though one of your thieves told me to reroll pve.
You might deserve better than this match up. Oh well! Lets enjoy what we get.

In order to get rank B one’s, you need to move on Desolation or SFR and keep spitting around. You are too young to reach rank A tho, not enough experience.

Been playing all night, and he makes a point. Only thing viz does bringing 50+ blob full with golems.

Normal fights you guys mostly lose and run, probably cause the practise you guys have is only golem rushing?

Even 1 on 1 most viz run away and rather jump to death then fight to death.

Trying to get a fight with a Viz player …

I agree with the other posts….

We (in AR) are very disappointed about the level of Vizunah. We were hoping some nice teamfights, but finally….

One of our leaders says that fighting vs Vizu is just like Obelix fighting Romans. They control a large part of the map, use exclusively heavy armor golems to attack every single tower, attack only when they’re 2 vs 1 at least….. and are really bad in teamfight !

I’m sorry to say this, but we’ve met better servers in the previous match-up. Vizu is the first only because of their number, and their night teams….

So Desolation borderland was interesting the past two hours…

We (deso) were running around defending our two towers alternatively against the French hordes, we eventually lost them due to the attacks being simultaneously, I have to say, I don’t think there has been much fighting on the south on the map, if you get my point.

But then it came to gari, we’re defending against Vizombies from the north, and then all of a sudden Augary are at the South gate! I had a plan to wait it out on the roof/upstairs and let you both fight it out, but as ever viz let us down by actually being pathetic at combat and they ran away and wp-ed (shock) leaving Augary to cap it as we were too few.

It was a fun night that ended with the server crashing, well it did for everyone in desolation, hopefully it did for you as well or I’ll be logging back in to a green map!

The only annoying this is that it was about 40 of us against 150 of you, I’m sure it was coincidence that your attacks kept coinciding, but it really was tough work for us poor defenders!

Yet another insane night <lost my voice – but filled my many bags>

Started of painful being played about like tennis in AR BL, two blobs – serving us about like Andy Murry Vs. Djokovic at wimbledon finals. We decided to hop to Viz BL —-— soooooooo much more fun … Thank you Vizbags for the lootbags and to the many guild in AR who like open field combat flanking with 2 – 3 guilds it was indeed fun AoE looting to the maximum range. I cant name all the guilds we fought but it was indeed a pleasure fighting with outmanned buff and still keeping the pressure on :P … GJ on taking bay when it was 3 way AR – we lost too many but your reinforcement landed right on time.
