Can I ask what the hell happened to SFR?
I was a fan of em last year, seemed like good server(I actually moved to them for few weeks last year when they were mid tier to get away from RUIN on Deso, and to have fair fights etc..) And seemed like great little server. They never had the pop of the big servers yet seemed to be very organised and have good skill level of pugs.
I’d have to disagree totally with all that now tbh, I’m sure the ‘old skool’ SFRs are still around and grand but since there boom to T1 last year and esp now again since the free transfers stopped they have gone down a massive hill.
Obviously they have gone up score wise and are no1 server now and probably will be for few more weeks, but the average pug I come a cross is pretty bad, and I can count at least 10 times in last 5 days I’ve gotten party invites from SFR players I’ve killed 1v1 or 5v4 etc.. that just call you ‘desoscum’ and troll for 5mins, I always let them vent as they are just bad losers but by god SFR is going downhill fast, and its a shame to see.
Could be a case of success breeds contempt for some, but I really don’t care who is 1 or 2. In fact I’ve always preferred T2 or T3 then T1.
The best thing that can happen for SFR now is a drop down tiers as some big guilds move back to where they came from pikenSquare or w/e and the real SFR players build back up again, done wonders for deso after the RUIN shambles, We will never be 1st again way things are, and that’s just fine by me and most I know who play.
TLDR; SFR have some very skilled guilds and players, but since there upward run through the tiers they have attracted a tonne load of very bad players and trolls, and imo they are bringing the name of server down to the dumps. It’s a shame.
It’s not hard to outskill the sIN blob that can only run in straight lines
Easy to outskill a 20 man"blob" with 50 but thx for your concern and your definition of blob

I wouldn’t take it as a compliment, i was using it as a measurement of loot bags we got whenever our guilds wiped you.

Did you ever realise that we have a max qeue of 5 min on 1 or 2 bl in primetime?
Lets split up on 3 borders and let 15 IRON fight there vs T3 keeps and towers and 2-4 guild teams?
We got wooden towers and keeps, why even bother to defend? If vz or sfr need 50 people you can get there within 2 min. and facerub the gate down. Dont start talking about tactics…. Its easy talking with a kittenload of guilds on your server.
@ the BG commander, its nice to see your commander buff ingame. I now know why you qq so much vs IRON on the forums. You get killed within 20 sec everytime we fight. Go Go commander hunters
I was not suggesting you run in 4×15 but rather in 30 and 30 rather than 60. I was suggesting it was better for gameplay as you won’t have skill delay.
I was not talking about tactics. I was talking about lag. You said you play for fun, not points. I consider 1 spam in 60v60 inferior in fun to being able to use all my abilities.
If you like to run in 60 that’s okay. Just don’t complain about lag because it’s always the zone with IRON in it that lags the most. Ask anyone from any server. It’s because your playstyle forces the same playstyle on the opposing servers and unfortunately huge fights lag a lot and cause skill delay. I would have nothing against epic large scale fights if it weren’t for the lag. Ofc in some situations as in keep takes, SM it’s unavoidable. However, if you will run as 60, everytime you will encounter an even sized or larger group you will lag a lot and probably not be able to use skills. I guess I will now go and facerub a door to get it down, gotta get those 15k door kills to put in my signature.

And because i’m honest, i will tell you: i had 2 days of break, but don’t worry i have a work ! and i will even say, i spend most of my time for GC/VS, excuse me if i play a little more, i want to have fun too :p

Just to make clear: RG VcY, CoN, SiN are the blobbers also, the only non blob on SFR is ZD’s.
So stop the Q-Q now and play forums are meant for nice community talking in general

As far as I can tell this orginates from the DAOC server ‘Excalibur’ – and maybe others during 2002. At this time a large forum war was fought on Freddys Forum reguarding that any guild running with another = blobbing.
This btw is where Black Company first got called Backup Company. I know as I was with them that they were not called that before this game.
A large number of guilds and people from that server then went on to propogate that same feeling in other games.
I think thats where it came from – EVE came out what a year before? But EVE players stayed in EVE for a while I think and didnt ahve the same attitude / expand into other games so much.
Anyone want to add to this? Am always happy to see if others can add to the history.

Got people from SFR having a go at Deso for being poor (lol) we just havnt got the numbers, easy to have a go at another server when your WvW lot merge with another tier 2 server (Piken Square).

I see that our Srf friends have trouble with the WvW being 1v1v1 again, I really don’t like the attitude of desolation here who are to trouble sfhr? Of course every knows that you would crush T1 if there was no opposition, yet it doesn’t forbid you do be fair play and thus this why I solely ask desolation to be fair enough to wait till the end of the actual matchup to start focussing sFr.

All i see is a bunch of band wagoner servers, Calling a server that started with Low Population and built up a strong wvw server band wagoners.
Unlike VZ and Deso, SFR was in t8 at launch we didn’t have all the cool kids jump to the big population servers. We built our community from the bottom up. We built on what we needed, and got some great guilds.
I can’t help but laugh when i see comments about SFR being the band wagoners.
