Yes, to some extent i had a good time in SFR , it was so fun roaming around with me desolation friends killing vizunah for 1 week. that was priceless.

Deso are basically the new VZ with the huge Iron blobs that achieve very little when they have people to fight and the guild Coin who are really good at running away.

Still at least the bags keep rolling in, thanks for the exotics today much appreciated.

You wiped 6 VcY, we were pug commanding on SFR because our home BL has been messed up this week so we stepped up. When you had 2 separate squads running from Crag and one at Sunny you couldn’t do anything. Ran every time we came for you. Once our numbers went down you grouped up. We are not whining, we lost garri coz we didnt have any scouts and we lost Crag for the same reason.

How about we set up a GvG, or are you still not doing those. This also apples to Coin.

We’re doing GvG ofc we never actually stopped xD I know Coin will be up for it too, they like loots bags as much as the next player!

So why is it you left rams up at Sunny and ran down to faith when we started to approach? Same thing at Crag. I see what you guys tried and it would have worked because we only had enough people to defend one thing at a time. When i say 6 VcY it was, rest were pugs it was not the full VcY raid not even close. Like i said we stepped up to protect SFR BL from what was a terrible week on the map. When you had opposition you got nothing achieved, you only came out and took the initiative when VS and half of our force logged from the map. Also add to that 0 scouts from our side.

And im sure we can sort something out in game about that GvG with you and Coin.

Earlier today I was going to answer ethier with rather long and boring post, but didn’t get around sending it during the day. Seeing it was already discussed, I’ll try to be brief.

So we have one server (VS) that was dealing with this issue from the get go and their solution to it (that was working so far) is to thrive on, embrace and foster hordes of Mr. Pugs with things like propaganda, propagating “Vizunah spirit” thing and what not (I’m actually do not know specifics, but can imagine). This of course was in turn shaping the whole WvW community. VS themselves agree that they are mostly pugs with pug commanders and just a couple of big guilds. A lot of small guilds though do things that are vital to the score like timer-capping, supply ninjas etc.

Now, we have another server that was hit by “War Z” and took different stance: “You are useless and not welcome unless you prove otherwise. Here’s how the game is played here and you will obey or else”. I wonder btw what follows this “or else”.

It will be interesting to watch the story unfolding but I’m not sure the way SFR WvW community is heading is sustainable. Not to say if it is healthy and constructive given the lack of in-game leverage and/or restrictions in GW2 that one would probably need to pull this off.

Well, seems like I’ve managed to come up with long and boring post anyway

P.S. I should have mentioned Deso as third server but we don’t seem to have this issue atm. We had it at one moment and our solution as far as I remember was to drop a tier or two.

Other than that, our answer to “War Z” would be I guess “Everybody join IRON!”

We have had issues with pugs before, However the difference between those and the ones that have recently joined us, They have been willing to learn and we’ve tried to help them as much as possible and even set up guild channels on our Team speak for the smaller guilds that have been doing WvW or other things as a guild. How anyone from another server like Desolation can go on about how we don’t embrace the pugs, When IRON have closed off meetings with a select few guilds before reset night and not letting randoms join is quite funny to me. Not saying ours is right or wrong. We are willing to help and train pugs if they are willing to join our community, We don’t ask for them to join on of the “Bigger Guilds” at all.

IRON don’t have ‘closed off meetings’ with ‘a few select guilds’. Everyone on Desolation knows that our TS is open for all to use, and that our weekly server meeting occurs, Yanox has done an awesme job of informing every guild be it PvE or WvW. The thing you on SFR don’t seem to grasp is that Desolation is a massive PvE server full with PvE guilds and PvX guilds.

This is fine ofc, but it does mean that it tends to be the same guilds at the weekly ‘what borderland should we be on’ meeting cause the other guilds have little or no interest in what goes on in WvW. Also, we don’t alienate our PUGs on Desolation we try to include them on every border since they are a great force, the Militia if you will, and deserve a great deal of respect.

Ahh im tired, killed a lot of you pug viz and sfr.. I was having fun with a person that normally plays PVE.. we won battles 5 vs 2, every 2v2..

Standing behind houses, behind walls.. waiting for these viz and sfr to pop up.. then BAM HELLO! pats pats pats.. ow u dead! haha

Took camps, quaggans.. we even took the viz tower with 4 ppl.

He had tons of fun, and me 2.. now im tired!

To [VcY]. I don’t understand why you are so clearly angered by us. In the past I have had alot of respect for the guild. I thought there were some brilliant fights and tactics displayed tonight by both servers on SFR boarder lands. Having commanded for over 7 hours, I know that it wasn’t ‘6’ VcY; you were at squad size, and yes, you did also have some additional pugs as you have mentioned. But to be honest, I couldn’t care less about the size if it provides a good enjoyable fight. It was great to kite you around the map for 20 minutes whilst IRON capped a T3 garrison from you (I thought tactics were part of World vs World?) and it was great to wipe you at Foghaven when we were slightly outmanned. However, I’m sure you had the same feeling when you wiped us at Ruins because VS hit us from behind as we engaged you (which is typical of them, but tatical none the less), we still enjoyed the fight and learned alot from it.

At the end of the day, none of this matters. Being a good sportsman is important, and of course we will fight you in a guild vs guild match up. I’m not saying were win against you, were still building ourselves and people are learning, but hell, were give it our best shot and we learn fast. I would organize it all through Wrex, she is better at that than me.

Also I think people on Desolation this week have done an awesome job!

Had a fun evening raid in SFR borderland today! Good comunication between VcY and siN.
Sad we had to fight on the same spot eventually (by 8:30 pm we started grouping up, wasnt it?), but overall it was fun ^^

Deso made an interesting push for points these days. Can’t wait to see what will happen next week. Reset tomorrow!

PS: I wonder if queues will get better this coming week for us. Hopefully the ones that just wanted to win T1 for a week will just back off and go back to farming CoF or fractals, and the people that actually want to WvW will start being noticed!

ur obsession with Deso is quite amusing.

Considering the organised guilds that Desolation have I am quite impressed with how well we are doing. Vizunah command the blob and play their own special little game of hide the lootbags in the tower/keep and defend with siege! SFR have plenty of organised guilds that are able to pad out their maps, deso are a split between the two where we have pugs and very few guilds to hold a map up so those of us who are here are working very hard in order to keep us where we are, not to say that SFR arent working as hard but there is more room for error when on SFR since there are more organised guilds (and in turn people who know how to WvW, or should do at least that form the group of pugs) while deso has PvE players who rarely play WvW jumping on the map quite often and finding out exactly what T1 WvW is.

I appreciate that some people have “server spirit” but for anyone to say that the guilds on Deso aren’t putting in an exemplary job considering our position or that we aren’t organised in order to achieve what we are currently attaining is obviously either very badly misinformed or simply an idiot.

P.S After reading the previous posts I dont see any really saying SFR arent doing “good enough” its mostly circle jerking over “we wiped you a million times, and loot bags yo!”.

So you are making a post that you outplayed us and you got a fort ,you wiped us clean and clear with same numbers and the only time that we wiped you….was when we double team you with VZ…….Then you dont understand why some ppl may be “angered” with you…..
I can see many stories about sfr running when we face Deso same numbers etc.
Guilds like us, RG ,ZDs and many more ,have offered weeks ago GvG action . Iron has answered that they are not ready yet(we respect that) ,but the offer is in general, to all guilds that they would like to try a clean battle with same numbers ,like you Coin.
We like to fight ,thats why we want to GvG , also – i have said it again in past – i would like from ppl that they jump in with comments, “we wipe you same numbers” or “you run away from us same numbers” etc……to bring a GvG offer @ the end of the message.

I think the fact that SFR and Viz run from a fight unless they have overwhelming numbers pretty sad to be honest. It happened alot last night and the only time they seemed to engage was when they hit us from both sides……….and they talk about respect lol

Had a lot of intense fights yesterday against both VZ and SFR in the VZ Borderlands! Thanks to GoD and everybody that was there for keeping a cool head and staying in control of the situation. Loved the loot that I got when VZ and SFR attacked Redbriar at the same time, and in turns! Will see everybody tonight before reset!

Can this stupid alliance between vizunha and seafarer in vizunha borderland stop? Literally today GoD had to fight both of the servers of 100+ players for 4-5 hours. As soon as vizunha hits bay seafarer hits redbriar. The 2 servers have not attacked each others territory at all for the past 8 hours and it is getting silly. Even with both servers allied against deso we still managed to wipe them but now its getting too much for us to handle.

It was real good fights but I no longer honor a few guilds simply because they need to ally against us to kill us. I don’t know about other borderlands but in vizunha borderland they haven’t fought each other at all…

We were usually 10-20 (+ a little amount of random pugs….about 5 mostly) too few to face Viz Or Deso….

Its not difficult to understand why in W W W sometimes you happen to be attacked on 2 fronts….being 3 fronts either 1 stop fighting or ranndomly 1 of them is attacked from 2 sides.

(despite 20 players are not a zerg as you say…viz were many but we were just 1 guild trying to do our part and we did…).

Hello, we have really a big, big problem of offpeak commanders at this moment on VS. Like i told you for the last stand, almost 90% has burned out/stopped/fed up of the game. We try to find solutions. Its now worst with the wave of PvE people who want to farm ranks and do not listen. If you have a french friend, try to traduce the linked survey, i asked cmd “Why do you stop?”

Do people not read anything. We have been commanding pugs, that listen and join us. If you know of a way to command pugs that flame you and reject any hand of invitation then pls do share.

just a thought: i was on SFR for a bit more than a week back when it was in t3, and i was looking for a home server. I play almost every day, i upgrade and siege up a tower 4-5 times a week on my own budget, spending 5-10g on upgrades weekly, and 50% of the time i play morning, when every server needs every person they can get. I know how to play the game. Im a PUG. After that week on SFR, i was like : me helping THESE???? no kitten way!!!! And it probably only got worse, after all you’ve admited trying to chase players off the server. So i dont really get the surprise, they are reacting to the way you act. Honestly, who in their right mind would want to work with a bunch like you.

Other thought:
Dear SFR posters! you truly believed that your server will be the one exception that wont be overrun with serverhoppers, if it keeps winning? I mean srsly – “those i didnt negotiate and invited personally should get out, because their presence disturbs me” – you really thought that would fly in T1? Theres a limit to how naive someone can be….

I have to be honest, I share Oxxy’s sentiment here. I was on SFR bl on Monday night (and in TS) when RIOT, SiN and 1 or 2 other “recognized guilds” were on the map and everyone else told to “f… off”. I saw the whole affair where a RiOT member turned on his commander symbol to deliberately lead PUGs to their deaths. I saw the insults getting swapped between PUGs and “recognized guild members”. So don’t any of you try to claim that you just asked nicely to get PUGs off the field so guild members could join in. I then witnessed (after there was no longer even a queue), the RiOT commander still telling PUGs to f off, both in TS and in chat.

It seems quite clear that on SFR atm there are 2 definitions for PUGs, the first being anyone that isn’t a member of the “recognised guilds”, the second being anyone that isn’t a member of the community, i.e not listening in on TS etc. If I had to select RiOT’s definition by their display on that evening. It was clearly the former.

So much mud flinging going around I won’t even comment! I’ll just say that if you guys keep telling your enemies run away yet don’t set up a GvG against them you are all talk and no trousers. On that matter I’m happy to announce that my guild is open to 10vs10 GvG matches so if any guild is interested, just send me a pm.

IRON don’t have ‘closed off meetings’ with ‘a few select guilds’. Everyone on Desolation knows that our TS is open for all to use, and that our weekly server meeting occurs, Yanox has done an awesme job of informing every guild be it PvE or WvW. The thing you on SFR don’t seem to grasp is that Desolation is a massive PvE server full with PvE guilds and PvX guilds.

This is fine ofc, but it does mean that it tends to be the same guilds at the weekly ‘what borderland should we be on’ meeting cause the other guilds have little or no interest in what goes on in WvW. Also, we don’t alienate our PUGs on Desolation we try to include them on every border since they are a great force, the Militia if you will, and deserve a great deal of respect.

Edit: Out of fairness, I have to edit my post, since it seems that our dear commander does have access to the meeting notes – he jsut didn’t last time I asked (about a week after the conversation about the notes).

However, the point which kinda got lost in my rant is that claiming Desolation is an open, all-inclusive server is beyond ridiculous, and nobody can really claim that with a straight face.

I would say more things but I’d probably get infracted and ip-banned from somewhere else again. (If this doesn’t do it… /ponder)

SFR it is time to learn how to command PuG. VS and Deso do it from the very begining of the GW2 release.

Do people not read anything. We have been commanding pugs, that listen and join us. If you know of a way to command pugs that flame you and reject any hand of invitation then pls do share.

just a thought: i was on SFR for a bit more than a week back when it was in t3, and i was looking for a home server. I play almost every day, i upgrade and siege up a tower 4-5 times a week on my own budget, spending 5-10g on upgrades weekly, and 50% of the time i play morning, when every server needs every person they can get. I know how to play the game. Im a PUG. After that week on SFR, i was like : me helping THESE???? no kitten way!!!! And it probably only got worse, after all you’ve admited trying to chase players off the server. So i dont really get the surprise, they are reacting to the way you act. Honestly, who in their right mind would want to work with a bunch like you.

Dear SFR posters! you truly believed that your server will be the one exception that wont be overrun with serverhoppers, if it keeps winning? I mean srsly – “those i didnt negotiate and invited personally should get out, because their presence disturbs me” – you really thought that would fly in T1? Theres a limit to how naive someone can be….

I have to be honest, I share Oxxy’s sentiment here. I was on SFR bl on Monday night (and in TS) when RIOT, SiN and 1 or 2 other “recognized guilds” were on the map and everyone else told to “f… off”. I saw the whole affair where a RiOT member turned on his commander symbol to deliberately lead PUGs to their deaths. I saw the insults getting swapped between PUGs and “recognized guild members”. So don’t any of you try to claim that you just asked nicely to get PUGs off the field so guild members could join in. I then witnessed (after there was no longer even a queue), the RiOT commander still telling PUGs to f off, both in TS and in chat.

Hey, that was me! Yes i got frustrated, and yes i got annoyed! But i didnt intentionally lead pugs to the death! Im sorry for the trash talk, and i have learned now to remain calm in all situations and my change in person has been significant. But people still need to listen to what i say if they want to survive, its simple!

The PUGs that i did lead were to be honest, under equipped and not very good in their performance, but i had to do my best with what i had. I have learned!
