End Cinematic for Repeated Plays
Seconded.
I’ve been “farming” the story instance for Toxic Spores since its the only decent way to get them right now, and watching that cinematic every single time is getting old. It was an epic cinematic, for sure, but I don’t want to watch it over and over again every time.

Unskippable cinematics are in real time in the world. If we allowed them to be aborted at any time, the NPCs could end up in bad spots (since they move around during the cinematic), and/or actions that occur during the cinematic (creatures appearing, characters dying, etc.) might not occur, etc.

Pre-rendered cinematics have NPC’s?
I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think it applies to the type of cinematic we’re talking about here. I imagine the type of cinematic you’re talking about would be, for example, the cinematic at the end of the Nightmare Tower introduction where Kasmeer and Marjory un-stealthed after you killed the enemies and the Krait boss showed up. That indeed has stuff like NPCs moving around and enemies spawning. So yah, I can understand how that wouldn’t be skippable.
The cinematic in question for this thread is the movie cinematic of the Tower getting destroyed, though. The one that plays after you exit the Nightmare Tower conclusion instance and the one that plays if you talk to the Historian at the camp. Its just a pre-rendered video clip, isn’kitten It certainly doesn’t look like it uses in-game assets.
Maybe I’m mistaken, though. I appreciate the response regardless.
At the end of the tower collapsing, there’s in-game footage of Kessex Hills, with smoke around showing the now collapsed tower with some NPCs at the camp. I assume that is what Jeffrey is referring to .

Perhaps. Though that particular sequence is only a few seconds long, so not being able to skip that is no trouble at all really. Its the actual tower destruction video that takes a while.

Sorry for off-topic, but this auto kitten is really amazing ;D
What is the difference between this cinematics and the vistas? they are both live but the vistas can be closed…
This one has rubble falling into the water, so it’s probably within an instance. Maybe that’s why you can’t skip it.
