After several tries “alone”, two of us were able to get to the top.

It’s NOT doable alone – not as a Ranger. Not at all.

Done it alone as a ranger, elementalist and engineer.

Part of the problem is indeed the scaling – a large party moving through an event not bothering to kill will leave behind upscaled mobs that are quite a bit harder to get past.

Another factor is other people clearing mobs, particularly around air purifiers. It’s significantly easier for me to traverse it solo if other people have already cleared.

If you’re having trouble I highly suggest you find a party, or guest to a realm that hasn’t had a huge upscaled event spawn everything.

Fortunately, Floor 3 probably has the easiest progress block event, provided there aren’t a ton of corpses nearby, or people leaving for whatever reason upscaling it.

I dunno man, I want to believe you, I really do, but I’ve tried getting through level 3 with 2-3 of us, who I would say are not complete idiots at our classes (I’d say I was awesome if I didn’t think I’d get hit with ‘clearly you aren’t and you need to l2p’), and the Group Events are pretty much impossible even with a small group, let alone solo. If all of the walls are down and you just need to run through that’s cake and I’ve done that on numerous occasions.

But when the tower is empty and you are the only one progressing and you have to do the group events it is pretty much impossible. Like the area you need to clear X number of Scarlet mobs, even solo it throws tons of Veterans and some Elites at you, with the zone DoT on you. And if you’re saying you can solo that event while staying inside the tiny Air Purifier bubble (to avoid that damage over time) then you clearly must be some sort of sorcerer.

There is a group event on each level that blocks your progress, so you may not be able to pass without a group regardless of the strength of the mobs.

Remember that “soloable” doesn’t means “you can do it EASILY all by yourself”. You need to be carefull, and have a lil’ bit of luck.

I had been able to reach the final event by myself (sweating blood) and with one friend (kinda easy). But uberman is right: it seems that you do need a group/zerg to do the final event. At least, the event is beyond my solo- capacities.

Yup, the upscaling is silly, especially since it doesn`t scale down again. I’ve been running floor 3 alone several time, but on the overwhelming majority even when I’m completely alone on the entire floor, I will run into an upscaled champ that will curb stomp me within seconds once all my CDs are popped.

Be careful about your pulls, and keep in mind that the new downed state mobs will call for aid in a huge radius, even attracting those not in combat.

Like Morbridae said, I never implied it was easy, merely that it is double. My ele and especially engineer bit the dust more than a few times on my solo attempts. (Mostly because the latter is a zerk build) And I know that almost every time I’ve made it to the block event, people wound up joining in eventually.

For the portal event, stay on the bottom floor near the purifier – you can pick off weaker mobs, and pull towards the purifier. This way you don’t aggro the elite and vets on the upper level on the path to the chamber. I also made sure to keep the purifier clear itself – wound up having to kill the Vet toxic spawn there a few times while waiting on more twisted watchmen.

I agree with OP. Impossible to get through without running into someone and turning your solo into a duo (and so on).

The only way I found to do anything alone there is by running around in circles throwing AoEs and DPS conditions and effects.

If you stand still for a second to do anything without protection, you’ll be down in no time.

Still, compared to the other events, the one on the third floor are with the twisted watchguard is soloable. It takes ages, but you can just take down enemies one by one instead trying to solo a champion that’s not designed to be soloed. So a solo player that has reached third floor before can get to the top solo. It’ll just take a really long time.
