So, how long does everyone think it will take to destroy the tower? I would love to hear how long Anet expects it to take too.

They said there would be permanent changes, so maybe never?

The tower dies when we fill the antitoxin meter, and when that happens the content goes away. I’m sure the physical tower will remain as ruins, but thats not what I’m referring to

We THINK that the tower dies.
We have no actual proof however.

Well the tower heart is destroyed as per patch notes, so when does everyone think THAT will happen?

There is a meter to indicate progress.
Therefore, it is apparently entirely dependent on us and how many times we inject the anti-toxin. (If this is ACTUALLY the case, then that is freaking awesome btw).
So hypothetically, if we all just stopped doing the final instance then the tower would remain forever…
But honestly, i want kessex hills back. (It’s one of the nicest zones in game IMHO) So, lets rock that tower!

I am fairly certain it is more of a representation of time lapse than an actual meter. Imagine how hard that would be to just pick some random number of injections before it is complete. 100000 injections? 200000 injections? Too high and you miss the end of the living story window, too low and it finishes up a week early.

Also as people stop doing the content, the number of injections is going to go way down, and that bar would stop moving, that wouldn’t be good.

Since it seems to be the same bar in overflow/main, it is safe to say everyone contributes to the same pool of completions, but I am sure they are going to “fudge” the numbers towards the end so the climax happens right on time.

Think less WoW war effort contributions and more progress bar for installing things in Windows that always seems to be moving at a steady pace.
