Hey first time poster here,
I have seen a lot of talk about the Nightmare Illusions you face in the Chambers but nothing about the prisoners there. Granted most of them are, soldiers, villagers and so forth but I’ve at least twice rescued a Sylvari called Malomedies – a first born. In the wiki it says that he "works to predict the future through current events – as he calls, a “watcher of the world.”" I for one found that quite interesting. Maybe the loremaestros here can shed some more light on this for me.

Has anyone seen other named prisoners in the chambers or is Malomedies the only one important enough?

There’s a named human in there sometimes. Petra from the personal story, if I remember correctly.

I think the prisoners, like a lot of things in the chambers, are based on your personal story / race.

My Charr character has twice rescued a named Charr. Sharptongue, I think. I can’t remember her exactly from the personal story, but the name sounds familiar at least.

The only question, then, is are those prisoners real? Are there actually a ton of different people imprisoned in the Tower from all over? Or are they also illusions created by the tower itself from your characters’ memory?

I’ve actually rescued Lord Faren in those chambers (as a Human Noble) twice now. Since as far as we know, Faren was never involved with the Tower of Nightmares content, I found it extremely suspicious. That suggests to me that either the “prisoners” we’re rescuing aren’t really there at all, or perhaps they are real, but we’re hallucinating that they’re people we know rather than just random strangers.

Personally, I’d prefer Faren to be the boss rather than prisoner.

But how would we stand against the power of his fancy panties?

@Zaxares: I’d go with the latter; that we’re hallucinating as to who the prisoners are.

There were kidnappings around the Tower of Nightmares prior to its unveiling, so there likely are prisoners there that’re being rescued. Among them is likely to be the Mistress Kari and possibly even Maddox (and anyone else who’s gone missing from the camp since Blood and Madness – either as prisoners or as people rushing in to save prisoners).

I got Pol as a prisoner on one of my asuras.
