If you get separated from a group, or enter the instanced portion and come out..and if you are then alone, you need to wait for more people. And you can be waiting for a long time.

I didnt want to spend 45 minutes on just the first portion, only to die at the very end because I got separated from the group. Now I need to respawn at the beginning?

No thanks. Fun event, good idea. But this kind of killed it for me. This might be another LS I completely skip.

I kinda though the biggest flaw was there is no reason to keep doing the tower. I played about 4 hours and got all the achievements done already and I’m no great player. At first I died a good bit but nothing that felt too cheap other than the mobs CC. I just don’t see much reason for people to go back other than a rare chance at a gasmask skin that you get anyway for the meta. The meta is pretty easy, there’s no other skins to get, and its hard enough that its not a good farm.

Not done yet but once I am done and friends are done I won’t be returning and I doubt any my friends would return either. I guess they assumed people would go back for the chest because they are desperate for the mini or something.

Does anything even come out of the chests worth “trying” to get? I know you can get the gasmask but you get that anyway and maybe the spore backpiece . All I’ve seen personally are blues, greens, and ascended mats. But there are FAR easier places to get that. Maybe if the new weapon skins had a small chance to drop I would try to get one but I doubt that is the case.

I am just the opposite. Everything feels to cheap.

The mobs deal too much damage, have too much hp, there are way too many of them, the plants that explode which you can’t avoid are mega cheap.

The whole thing is cheap, pointless and completely unrewarding.

It supposedly scales but the game is still incapable of scaling anything once it has spawned which means anytime a big enough group runs through it leaves a death trap behind. It’s like the mines on a bigger scale, anyone who just runs through won’t have a problem but anyone behind them will probably be downed by one of them.

You can absolutely avoid the plants. See those big floaty spores? Don’t go near em.

The chest isn’t much different than any other JP chest, except it has a chance at the terrestrial breather skin and I think the mini.

And if you get separated from your group in a dungeon you’ll probably get killed too. No different here. The difference is the mindset of the players: run-run-run rather than fight-help-rez-cooperate.

Also, the first time through, don’t go into the side-instances. Get to the top & get the “waypoint” golems along the way. Then, you can hit the chambers and when you come out you can make your to the golems to wait for others.

Bring friends. Ideally, it takes more than a group of 5 to push through the tower with efficiency. But if the 5 of you stick together, rez each other, cleanse each other, you shouldn’t have a hard time keeping up with the zerg.

I made it through the entire tower with just me and a guildie. Granted we were both thieves which made it easier. But still quite easy with out a zerg.

I dare say now I know where I’m going. I can pretty much solo the tower if no one is around.

In my humble opinion, I’d say that they need to get rid of the key requirement of the chest. Following that, make chest drop daily rewards based on how much levels you didn’t skip.

The tower can be a fun challenge, even if you’re in a small group. But it needs to have a payoff. The chests are already random enough, we don’t need an additional lotterly for keys added ontop of it.

The tower is a lot of fun.

The instances along the way are enjoyable, they change, and you get a decent reward chest. By decent, I mean basically what you get for world bosses.

You get to the top, and the tri-key chest really isn’t that bad with rewards as well. Again, basically a world boss chest. Then you do the fairly easy end instance, and again get rewarded decently, especially the first time.

I got quiet a few champ bags in my run through the tower. I played for about an hour getting to the top and along the way got lots of mats and gained about 1g. I know that’s not an exceedingly amount of gold, but it’s still pretty decent for just playing some content.

I understand the people who want to do this solo, but it really comes across as a group dungeon. I mean, each floor has a couple events that if you get stuck in, need to clear to move forward. The Champs for instance. If you happen upon these solo, you’ll never make it through. If you take your time though, group up with people as you move, heal, cleanse, dodge, and fight with the people around you, you’ll accomplish a lot.

Also, to the person who was mad about the mine spores. You can avoid them. You can also dodge out of the aoe ring and avoid the hit if timed right.

Did the tower with a group of about 10 guildies. We had a terrible time while we were split up in groups of 3 or 4. Once we all got together, it was tons of fun! We were all very satisfied by the end.

This seems to be content for medium-sized groups. Bring friends who will rez you and you’ll be fine.

This is actually something that I’ve been asking for over and over, so I’m very excited to see it. If I can play for a block of time on the weekend and get the meta chest that is awesome and it means they aren’t time-gating me away from the rewards by using the daily system.

You seem to have a lot more play time than I do. Good for you If this content is fun for you then play it some more! No sense in them dragging the achievements out and keeping you playing them for a week if you don’t really enjoy the content. If you DO really enjoy the content then by all means keep playing it! There are plenty of mobs to drop loot, lots of players to socialize with, lots of things besides the meta chest to keep you going. The wonderful thing now is that you have full choice of where/how to play without having to worry about the chest. You can just do what you enjoy

This is a very poor excuse. I entered the Tower with only 30 silver on me. I did fine and left with 1g35s.

Honestly, a meta that doesn’t take forever is what we’ve been asking for. People wanted to recieve the achievements by just doing the release rather than having to do x number of things over and over again and grind.

I got a single yellow after playing in the tower for 4 hours yesterday, so I think that’s more luck than anything.

Hmm, I also noticed some better drops (most likely because of the larger amount of vets and elites). I got 6 rares and an exotic drop (and another exotic from the 10 or so champ bags I gathered). Don’t forget MF plays a role here too (I wonder if it does with the key drops as well).

Also I found this pretty darn fun. My friend and I were able to pretty much 2 man everything except for the bigger group events (though we never had the chance to try). It was just more annoying when my client crashed and when I logged back in I wasn’t in the same instance anymore, which we had just cleared. So, by the time I can see my character I’m at 50% hp with about 10-15 enemies around me attacking. I think most of the group events can be done solo (given enough time), the spider may be the most annoying/maybe impossible.

Not saying its bad. I actually liked it all for the most part. Just don’t know how re-playable it is for 2 weeks
