Q:
Overpowered Veterans
The major floor bosses are usually Champions but can spawn as Veterans if there are no players around. These Veterans will have a ton of health on purpose since they are supposed to represent a major foe. All the other veterans in the tower are just ordinary veterans. They die as easily as any other Veteran in the game. The only issue with them is that there are often way too many to solo at a time.
I thought it was just my impression but I have the feeling that everything inside the tower is stronger than usual. Veterans seem more like normal Elites, and Elites near the power of regular Champions and Champions are almost as tough as Legendary.

I think the mobs might feel stronger in the tower because of the hallucination gas. Since it’s giving you constant DoT, not to mention summoning illusions to fight you, it’s going to make enemies feel stronger, when really it’s just added pressure from the tower’s special mechanic.
But who knows, maybe the mobs in the tower really are all buffed.
5 Ele meta let’s go
The enemies can have their health pools scaled up if there are many players nearby. In a tight maze the enemies could be beefed up by players who are actually distant in terms of travel time.
The whole tower is lvl80. Veterans of that level are naturally strong in comparison to low level areas where the lvl80 players are scaled down. Also the map is designed in a way to make dodges and defensive movement dangerous. On wider areas, there is a good chance to run into a one-shot mine weed, in narrow corridors and mazes you hit a wall half the time and can still be blown up by a plant, or there are the narrow planks where you can fall down if you are not carefull. Add to this the enviromental effect of the hallucinogetic pollens that dont let you regen and summons random hallucinations, and you have a place worthy of the name “nightmarish”
I’m more concerned with leash range on the mobs. The first floor mine field some how managed to aggregate several Elite’s and Vet’s. Making it extremely difficult, even for a party, to get through.
I’ve been pinning up just to zerg it floor by floor. It’s really the only way to do it.
I just watched the developer stream, and they were taking down Elites in seconds..
I think there truly isn’t enough players in the development versions of the game to indicate just how much some of the creatures scale. This promotes a difficulty level to the end players that the devs can’t be expected to understand.
The game plays entirely different when you have significant numbers of players all playing the game in a different manor.
…seriously? We’re complaining about Vets now?
Sorry, if you’re having those many issues with vets your build sucks.
