Stand and fight ? Nah lets just run.
Lol, on my server there was not even a person to help me with. Everyone is just guesting on desolation I guess.
Most of the mobs in there hit so hard and have so much hp it’s just a waste of time to stop and try to kill them, especially if you’re alone.
Not to mention that they’re not exactly thinly-spaced, and their agro carries quite a way. When trying to run through areas there’s a lot of obstacles, both static (walls) and enemies alike, and it seems that there’s a lot more than there really are. But this doesn’t thin the herd very much when you just run through them. It pays to stick around and kill them off as you go, and have some breathing room to bring the rest of the people trying to get through with you.

Not luck and credit cards.”
I’ve trained through the levels and fought through them at various points during the day, and I can say with certainty that running is far easier and less tedious than fighting through all the mobs.
There were several occasions where I would get holed up with a group somewhere in the maze, and we’d be trying to fight our way out for several solid minutes because there were just so many mobs. Especially in those events you have to do to clear the way out of a level—which spawn more enemies—like freeing people from the spider sacs.
The only time zerging through it is stressful is when you would take a wrong turn or get otherwise separated, in which case you were on your own to try and make it through the train of mobs.
By Ogden’s hammer, what savings!
I usually switch on my command tag, and kill everything. Players tends to follow the commander, so if I kill everything, they kill everything. Better loot that way too.

Yep, follow a blue guy and stick to him like glue. If everyone does this, nobody is gonna die and be left behind. It’s usually the ones running solo that I see die a lot.
No blue guy in the area? Make your own little party and stick together. This is a multiplayer game after all.
I finished the tower running up it with little “groups” also on their way to the top. All story instances were easily solo’d – just takes time.
The mazes are fun – reminds me of being a rat in a rat race maze trying to find the exit. Really enjoyable.
Overall, I’m really enjoying this update. The chambers have turned out to be a nice surprise – nice loot chest at the end!
I’ll be repeating this living story until it’s gone. Well worth it.

Think it’s time to get me a commanders tag soon… It has it perks it seems :P

If I’m reading the zerg mentality right, you need a large group so that the stragglers keep the chasing mob busy with their dying. “I don’t have to be faster than the bear, I just have to be faster than you.” Heartless.
As a commander I tend to make it a priority to leave no players behind, and focus on reviving people as fast as possible. I’m usually the one casting healing and condition removal, and helping up players, while the zerg around me just kills everything in sight. I hate it when zergs just run past everything, since it will just get a lot of players killed.

Good commanders are worth their weight in gold. I was lucky enough to get a good one to help our group through the 3rd level. Thanks Leina on Devona’s Rest!
The problem with killing the mobs, the respawn rates are so insane in some locations that by the time you kill a group, the one behind it respawned and reaggroed. The tower was badly designed.

The mobs are annoying and not fun to fight, that’s why. Not sure why they think CC is so awesome but it’s not fun, it’s annoying as hell.
I tried stopping but the respawn rate is nuts. Trying to kill them all before moving on means not moving on.
I ran some, I fought some. You definitely have to keep a forward momentum if you’re fighting. Otherwise you can get bogged down with the respawns. All in all, not bad. I enjoyed myself last night.
