Trahearne as a boss.
You don’t pay attention to lore or story much, do you?
You don’t pay attention to lore or story much, do you?
Are you talking about the LS having him as a hallucination or Kormir’s story from GW1?
I have been waiting for this day for a long time. Can’t wait to get home and kill him. Too bad you can’t kill the real one…
…. where is this part of the tower? I must do it.
Forever known as “that slow guardian who can’t jump worth crap”.
Kormir didn’t steal anything from you, she was the one who was able to absorb abaddons power, not you.
I got Ritlock my first time through, but now that I know I will eventually get to kick the kitten out of Trahearne I’m looking forward to camping that place.
Thanks for the heads up.

Yellow spirals, they are mini-instances. find them all and you will get an achievement (i am currently missing one…).
Kormir didn’t steal anything from you, she was the one who was able to absorb abaddons power, not you.
She was gifted that from the gods in the Realm of Torment. So how did Kormir get from her cell in Gandara all the way to the Realm of Torment and past Shiro and the Lich? She didn’t.
The player freed her from her cell. The player chased down and defeated Varesh. The player escorted her all through the Realm of Torment. The player defeated Shiro and the Lich (for the second time) and the player was the one that took down the god who’s powers she took. So what did Kormir do? She lead the Sunspears to slaughter, got captured, needed to be rescued then watched as we did all the work from that point on only to be conveniently handed the gift from the gods. I get it’s a game and I get that players should do the work, I also get that it wouldn’t make sense for the players to become a god. I’m not going to pretend Kormir deserved what she got.
As soon as she became a god, all six of them went on an indefinite hiatus, coincidentally coinciding with Tyria’s greatest time of need. Apparently her uselessness is contagious and she infected the other five gods.

She is basically GW1’s Trahearne.
Oddly he was the hardest of the chambers I have tried so far. xD
Haven’t found Rytlock or anyone like that yet, so I’ll keep my eye on that.

Didnt really hate Kormir but you sir win all the internets!

Obviously not the real Trahearne who goes down in three hits during PS.

You mean the part where until the demon was summon, the invasion was a success? The PC and the Sunspear were slaughtering the Kourna and was able to push into the heart of the Moon Fortress. Everyone came to a shock when the demon spawn out of nowhere.
needed to be rescued then watched as we did all the work from that point on only to be conveniently handed the gift from the gods.
Funny you mention that. Kormir was the guide in the realm of torment and was able to pull off an army of ghost sunspear to lead the PC to the Gate of Madness. And lets be honest here. Godhood is the only reason many players got beef with Kormir, ignoring the fact the game would end there if the PC got it, never mind the fact that there was potentially eight players and it would be a butt move if they just made the leader of the party god and not the rest. The last thing I want to see in GW 2 is the “supposed” PC that became a god got a statute of her own and in GW 2, the PC is depicted as a Male Mesmer In Tights because Anet says so.

Newflash, the gods were already in hiatus by the time the PC and Kormir finish the Gate of Madness. In fact, they were in Hiatus for centuries prior to GW 1 event. Hell, the end of the Gate of Madness is basically the god saying “clean up your own mess”.
She is basically GW1’s Trahearne.
No, that would be Mhenlo in Guild Wars Faction. Oh god Mhenlo was a tool in that game.
yeah… kormir needed our help. we gave it to her. we still couldn’t have become gods. I mean heck, I didn’t even like nightfall outside of the desert and I can tell you all this. as for trahearne, he spent his entire life dedicated to stopping the dragons or at least zhaitan, you not so much. of course he’s in charge and not the player character
Killing Trahearne would be one of the only reasons I do this tower again lol. I will definitely screen shot him when I kill his green butt.

I almost want to but… it’s day one and the zergs have already cleared out and there’s no getting anywhere without one. Shame I didn’t run into a chamber with him, someone Youtube it!

Wow, you almost gave me a heart attack, OP. I didn’t find him, but I’m glad that it is just an illusion. I really do not want him dead. I am aware of his lack of popularity, and maybe that’s why I have a soft spot for him now (poor guy… After all we’ve been through together, everybody hates him).

Trahearne spent his life researching Orr, not fighting the Dragon. Hell, the whole personal story is basically finishing HIS wyld hunt and has nothing to do with the elder dragon at all. Even then, cleansing Orr did nothing in the battle against Zhaitan and judging Teq and how he got buff recently, it did nothing to the risen at Orr either. Did his knowledge of Orr did anything to help the Pact Soldier? Nope. The Pact Soldier just invade and hell, did a better job in cleansing Orr with the Temple Event than Trahearne could in his life time.
needed to be rescued then watched as we did all the work from that point on

Oh god, it’s true. I was wondering when I faced Forgal if the other mentors were there if you were in a different order.
ANET WHY.

Hmm, question. Do you still get to fight your mentors/Trahearne etc. even if you haven’t completed the Personal Story yet? Failing that, could you party up with someone who has and get it that way?

If you honestly believe that the cleansing of Orr and Trahearne’s knowledge of Orr did not help the Pact’s fight against Zhaitan, then you did not pay attention to the story at all. With cutting down the Eye’s and Mouth’s of Zhaitan his influence was weakened, as well as his ability to use the them to gather magical artifacts, which Zhaitan feeds on. With the cleansing of Orr, the very land that Zhaitan had poisoned was fading underneath him ( or rather being cleansed), and Zhaitan would have to spend time and energy to re-poison the land (energy that should be noted, he was starting to become a bit hungry for, as his usual supply of food/magical artifacts was being cut down).

You mean the part where the Pact figure this out on their own rather than having to use Trahearne’s knowledge, because that is what exactly what happen in the personal story. The part here is that Trahearne is shove into the Pact and make it seem he is the one doing things.
With cutting down the Eye’s and Mouth’s of Zhaitan his influence was weakened, as well as his ability to use the them to gather magical artifacts, which Zhaitan feeds on.
Yeah because killing one of those really matter when there is a gazillion Eye Event in Malchor Fall or how there is a whole bunch of those Eye during the personal story. The mouth? The story had us believe we kill an important one during it but there is a giant one during the Arah Story that make that hard to believe. Like this ever matter considering that Zhaitan dies on the hand of the players when they spam 2 on the turrets.
You mean like what Orr was before? Where its just a bunch of undead roaming around minding nobody business since Guild Wars 1? From the look of it, it seem that cleansing Orr did absolutely nothing that effect the hordes in the Arah Explorable, or the Arah Story, or the current Orr, or how Teq still rise from the Sea with the horde of Risen after Zhaitan death. Our goal is to kill the Dragon, not to follow the pansy salad man that steal the credit of everyone that “works” for him.

Someone put the Trahearne fight on youtube please. No way I can ever get to the nightmare chamber to do it and I want to see it.

lmfao people still mad at Trahearne and Kormir jelly much
Best (story? no, there’s no story in LS) – best concept/fragment in a LS instance ever! I was very sad killing Tybalt and Forgal, but getting at Trahearne was just so… cathartic.

This did not end well for Trahearne.
People still think about Trahearne? I thoroughly forgot about him after completing personal story.
Kormir didn’t steal anything from you, she was the one who was able to absorb abaddons power, not you.
She was also the one able to get there, killing every minion by herself and totally not just sitting back?
Trahearne was in a regular chamber for me, not the last one. Just giving a heads up.
Poor Trahearne…everyone hates him, and no one ever gives him a chance.
I’d give up a few achievements to have a chance@ the goddess of body blocking (Kormir) myself. I’ve only had to kill Trahearne and Tybalt don’t think I ever fought any of the others unless I just wasn’t paying that much attention and only focused on the fights. GAME ON
Poor Trahearne…everyone hates him, and no one ever gives him a chance.
On the contrary… we always give him a chance… with every character we have… and he always do the same!
Ignorance is blitz. If I want to believe the hallucination of Traherne is real, I’ll think its bloody real and kick the smug right out of that Firstborn!
Granted, I’ll be mildly disappointed later when I see him alive and well in Fort Trinity, but I’ll also cherish the memory. Thanks, Scarlet (everyone gets one)!
Tarnished Coast
Irony that the hallucinated Trahearne is about ten times stronger than the real one. I would’ve been more than happy to have tree-boy in his… I mean my personal story if he was more of a butt-kicking monster and not a pencil-pushing scholar who dies in a few hits despite being a multiclassing legendary greatsword necro.
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.
/i’m a lesbiab… lesbiam… less bien… GIRLS/
Traherne as a character concept is fine . The problem is the terrible voice acting that just ruins the whole experience
I had to kill Zojja twice so far (on my asura), oddly didn’t feel too terrible about it, but that is the asura way. Lol. Snuff out your rivals asap. Marjoryy and Rox arguing about who’s real though was very amusing. I would LOVE to find one with Trahearne…
Altaholic, can never have just one!
The Trahearne fight is one of the easiest. He’s got nothing on the Spider Queen.
I’m glad he has a downed state though. Finishing him was gratifying.

If not for kormir and her connections with the ghost in the realm of torment we would have lost donkoro and would not have found the old temple of the six gods so one coul also argue you would have ben at a dead end with out her.Kormi did not steal godhood from any one she was given it during the gate of madness mission that was her gift bye the avatars. But it was up to her rather or not to use it it was a coice only a mortal could make.

You know, I would not use the “Kormir standing around during combat” as an excuse to make her bad. I probably bet you don’t even know why Kormir’s combat AI was standing around doing nothing in the first place. I’ll tell you a story.
Once upon a time, there was an NPC name Rurik. He like to run into mobs and die like the wammo he was. Rurik dying mean the mission he was involved automatically fails because he was consider to be an important npc to escort.
Fast forward to Faction. This time, Anet thinks by adding Togo and Mhenlo in the party menu AND make them range fighter would fix what made Rurik annoying. Anet was dead wrong. My god, I seen Togo and Mhenlo run into mobs and bosses that does DOUBLE DAMAGE to player ie instant death. Anyone that plays Faction would very well know the pain it was to escort Togo and Mhenlo in the Tahnnakai Temple, a mission that house an Elementlist Boss that loves to run up and Starburst these two morons to death, causing an instant failure of the mission.
After all the complaint about how escorting important npc was freaken annoying and how its an extreme chore just to keep those npc alive, Anet made it that any important npc after Faction a noncombatant. And that is how Kormir got her Noncombatant Ai. What many people are complaining about Kormir was actually Anet feedback on the previous Ai and interaction with the important npcs.
^^^ OK but after that they had vital NPCs in EoTN self-rez. Much better idea.
Don’t you dare compare Kormir and Trehearne.
She was a pain in the kitten , but when she wasn’t tainted by Abaddon she could really lead an army into victory. We wouldn’t wave lost if the enemy didn’t have demons. And after being tainted, she redeemed her annoying behavior by sacrificing herself so Abaddon’s power didn’t blow a hole to the mist in the fabric of reality the size of Elona.
Being a god isn’t as fun as some people think it to be, mate. It’s like begin an eternal government worker in charge of too many things for the rest of your existence.
Trehearne just called himself marshall, gave some speeches and let you do all the important decisions and the heavy work. And in exchange for that, he gives you a crappy bag that may or may not have something even worth salvaging, an a one-time chance to get an item with a flat and unpolished skin.
And that’s why it would have felt so good kicking his kitten in a chamber… if it really looked like him.
Unfortunatelly all halucinations have that black ghastly ghostly shadowy toxic effect on them that makes them easily recognizable.
I wish those effects appeared only after you get their health under 25% or so.
