Don’t you also think that the endboss (that hybrid thing) was far too easy for being a boss? He really didn’t even hit us ONCE! His animations are far too easy to predict and his damage then made me laugh :P As a mesmer I’m used to respawning my clones/phantasms because they die really fast… this boss didn’t manage to kill them because they had regeneration up… This really is low damage. He hit my clones with 2.5k to half life and after a few seconds they were full again. The thieves guild elite also managed to stay meele the whole time even when he did his “epic dance” where he throws wooden spears… :P
Sorry ANet but could you please buf this boss’ damage?
Agreed, I two manned it and it was really just a lump of hp. The dance was funny tho
It was too easy and the mechanics could have been more interesting
It was pretty easy. I had to solo it for the achievement where no one dies because newbies in the party died.
Also it’s final phase? It does some double dagger flailing attack. That is just funny, it barely hits but it just looks like it is spazzing out “KyahHh AHH DON’T HIT ME!” * flails arms about like a sissy *
Yeah, I soloed it on my ele without the toxic heal, it was not even remotely challenging .-.
Agreed, cool boss, cool concept, waaaay too easy.
All the mini dungeons (including the one at the top of the tower) were easy. Giving that I died many times on my way up (only actually getting there when I finally gave up and joined a group), I was ready to be beaten to a pulp inside that dungeon. Needless to say, I was surprised that it was so easy.
But I liked it.

we’ve been there already today in game. Mass rage quit from people claiming the solo instances as well as the champions are the new Teq. I died once running through the maze just because I was reading map chat and couldn’t see where I was running. I laughed so much. To bad we have now to wait another 2 weeks for the update. Maybe next one should be a bit more difficult and a bit more time consuming.
I got a suspicion that it is bugged. The attack pattern was pretty much that of a damoss, yet i never noticed the “serpent strike” doing as much damage as i would expect from a L80 champion.
Yeah, nearly no damage. Just stand there in the middle, hit 1 and went afk. Boss dead. Looked to my like the only damage is coming from the spores. Doubt this is intentional. But who knows.
What’s funny that it was harder to get to the top than it was to fight the last boss. Kind of mind boggling how much of a chore that trek up to the top was (outside of a zerg it was next to impossible)
Well the passive from healing signet was enough to keep me near 100% health in full zerker gear for the entire fight so yeah…
I found the boss to be good enough to justify the difficulty of actually reaching him. The trek there was difficult and the boss mechanics were so that you didnt feel cheated.
Boss was just about right for solo. Could stand to lose all those adds though.
Only played the first dungeon version with Kasmeer and Majory. Was a bit annoying because of that toxic stuff(spawned a lot of these when he was at low health) and the other mobs that spawned. Without that he would be too easy. I’d agree with Kalith and say it was okay. Same as other solo stuff where you get “champs” that aren’t really champions and more like a vet with a lot more HP.
Edit: But reminds me to try with turrets at engineer and let the turrets stay alive and then bring some defensive skills to heal myself and just wait for him to die to turrets lol. If it worked with mesmer clones and thieves guild it also should work with turrets.
Solo’d the hybrid on a minion Necro. The minions only died when adds wailed on them for quite awhile. I don’t think I took a single point of damage from the boss itself. “Thankfully” there are lots of adds and eventually toxic trees to prevent you from being able to press 1 and go afk.
Solo’d on a Beserker Necro. Honestly, the adds were more of a worry than the boss. I just had to watch where I stepped and manage my skills right in order to deal with said adds… the boss itself wasn’t a big worry.

Same… I get the feeling that “flailing” attack isn’t actually doing the damage it’s supposed to… Partially because it’s not doing ANY damage right now.

Its the difficulty with scaling of events/boss fights to be the “right” difficulty. If you try any of the Nightmare Chambers or the Top floor one with a party, it changes dramatically. I remember a similar discussion with Scarlet’s Playhouse during Clockwork Chaos, which was very easy solo but challenging with a party. Brought a full party into the final instance battle, and the mobs had a lot more hp and damage, and the Toxic Hybrid’s attacks really hurt.
Solo’d on my mesmer, twice so far. I had fun actually… enjoyable fight. I will admit that my clones and phantasms were dying a lot… but that’s because I told them to. It wasn’t too taxing of a fight yet there was definitely the possibility of dying if you weren’t paying attention. Again, enjoyable fight in my opinion.
found it way easier to solo with my thief then my guardian, IA really helps

depends on class and build :P points at my warrior equipped in his wvw buffer gear just face tanking while banners and other passive health regens were going.

I get they need to cater to lesser skilled players that want to still experience the story etc….I’m starting to think that anet could benefit from a “Hard Mode” similar to that other MMO i hate bringing up….everyone experiences storyline….but if you want the challenge heres optional hardmode will rewards that reflect that….a title that glows green for toxic alliance theme that title will stand out like a kitten!
No buff; I like easy rewards.

also at the megalaser room…. i alway moved/dodged out but when i killed boss 4th time i got hit 1×... i thought that you actually have to take care of that laser but… IT DEALS ZERO DMG? wtf … a knockback and thats it….
I think he is super easy with 2 people, and has the potential to be a challenge with 5, if you don’t have a group that knows how to play their class. Mostly just time consuming, but I don’t know about you, but time consuming battles are something i’m rough with. I tend to lose focus halfway through and make a fatal mistake.

Been ANet design MO from day one. Fights are rarely hard, just time consuming.
It was a little tough on my guardian (not a zerker build by any means). I died a few times but he doesn’t reset so no biggie
I enjoyed the fight solo as it is. I say leave him be.
The champ spider now though o.o ehmegherd that was painful.

Solo’d on a Rabid condition Necro to complete the trifecta! Epidemic took care of the adds lickety split. Fight wasn’t too hard, I never really felt in danger, but later phases weren’t completely brainless either.
The spinny dagger attack seems like it lasts a long time, I thought that the hybrid had bugged out the first time I saw it. Made it really easy to stack up the bleeds.

Solo’d on a condition thief. I basically spam caltrops on Hybrid while I took out the ranged adds, then return to add bleeds to Hybrid.
Think it is easier to solo than in a group as it is easier lure Hybrid out of the spore’s range. Guess Hybrid can be tough when you have to melee it while contending with corruption debuff shoo kitty shoo, you are starting to damage my calm!
what makes me laugh is you think there is only one and that first one spawned right when we got to top. Also it was a newborn how much of a fight did you think it would put up.
