I was away from my group and managed to get in the instance. When we completed event I spawned back to the area I was at which was far away from the chest. Now I have to go up again to access the chest.

Literally for the exact reason you just described. So that people don’t join a party from the base, join in instance with someone up top, and get the chest with no effort
