Looks like the spores from tower would make it there. I is one of the adjacent regions. I wonder if the Tengu will open there gates when they start being driven mad by the spores.

Well. It would give them a reason to open the place up , fresh air and such!

There are three sides to the tower. Half Life 3 confirmed.

I have seen some Tengu near some of the events, there was even a Tengu fighting on one (I believe it’s one that starts south of the tower).

However, I can’t remember if they were there before, but at least it’s good to see that they are aware of this problem ^^

More on topic: Whatever the end of Scarlet’s saga will be, it has to be epic. That would mean opening SOMETHING. DoW would be cool. I hope we get something interesting.

Well location-wise, the Tengu are starting to look pretty surrounded.
Toxic Alliance and Spores coming in from north and the Nightmare Court and Undead to the west. And then the Toxic Alliance is already Krait+Nightmare Court anyway so…

It kinda reminds me of those two Tengu near the titan’s staircase waypoint in Caledon Forest arguing about having a horde of krait or undead swarm them just to change things up a bit.

Really though all of the new content provides perfect leeway for a new expansion or big update that could introduce the Tengu and the jungle dragon, but knowing Anet I won’t get my hopes up.

Tengu probably not playable, or another race for that matter, until late ‘14/early ’15 at the earliest, I’d wager…

Tengu are survivors, many had ancestors kicked from cantha, even before the toxic alliance they were dealing with Primordius minion attacks, I’m sure this is just another thing they’re dealing with. I’d be more than willing to assume that they can trade supplies for antitoxins, and if not, there’s always the order of whispers who’d more than likely get involved. This does make me think, though; There MUST be other Tengu refuges, that relatively small area can’t house all the tengu, I’d be ok with them retconning the Dominion of winds to be just one of them, there could be tengu that pushed into the northern shiverpeaks or deeper into maguuma.

I don;t see the point of making Tengus playable. It would do more harm than good.

5 distinct races (ie, not humans, midget humans, humans with long ears and humans with green skins) is quite enough of a choice already and making a race which looks completely different to other races as models would just make making armor even more troublesome than it is already.

If people think armor looks bad on the charr, just imagine then with thinner bodies, longer limbs and feather tails. They would probably be even worse than Male sylvari in non-racial armor.

I don’t know what you’re talking about, sylvari look great, as for model there’s a lot that kind of shows tengu and charr share the same model pattern. Tengu were initially planned to be playable but were later decided against. Tengu should eventually become playable as they were many many guild wars 1 players who absolutely adored them and they have their own cultures and designs, I see no real reason why Tengu should not become playable. My only qualm with charr in armor is helmets and horns do not go together and it just looks awful.

The Tengu are already dealing with destroyers coming up from below (according to some of their NPCs in Kessex Hills). They probably laugh at little flowers like Scarlet.
