A small dilemma...
Ranger is more in the line of rural backgrounds of Norns than Engi, but both will be medium armor, so no real difference in the looks.
Ranger feels custom built for Norn, especially if you use greatsword at all. The animations fit with the spirits of the wild stuff perfectly; the high esteem that Norn give to hunters, it all fits.
Norn cultural is probably the best looking medium armor in the game ATM, so if you’re going to make a medium class, make it norn.
provide a service that I’m willing to purchase.” – Fortuna.7259
If you do go Norn Ranger or Engineer, I suggest the cultural armor which Rhyse already pointed out. Unless you like trench coats that it.
Funny, I myself play a norn ranger, and my boyfriend plays a norn engineer. I feel like the constant pirate/steampunk feel to a lot of the medium armor out there works for his engineer, and the cultural armor SCREAMS ranger for me.
“Walk with the pack. In the eyes of Wolf, we are all brothers and sisters.”
I say make a Norn Ranger. Spirits of the Wild are present in the Ranger abilities and your first Pet can correspond to the Spirit of the Wild you were born under.
I would say go Charr Engineer in the Iron Legion. That fits much more than a Norn Engineer.
Ranger… all the way.-
Norns are kind of the opposite of engineers and all in favor for animals and spirit guideness. Ranger is pretty much the icon of Norns (see Norn representative in destiny edge)
Not to mention that a lot of the Ranger weapon skills seem to evoke Spirits of the Wild, summoning images of Bears, Wolves, Ravens and Sharks attacking their foes.
That shark animation is awesome. Hope for future expansion, we can transform underwater as water spirits. Sure, it’ll be useless like most of our transformations but still cool.
