A warning should pop up during Norn creation
The warning should more or less be for charr after completing the Halloween JP on all my tools of the different races but not my charr, and I rage deleted it.
Point of the story do NOT have attempt any sort of jumping activity with a charr, your better off with the shortest norn model…
As someone with 2 max height (albeit female, so not as big as max height male) norn (and 2 medium height norn), I honestly have more trouble with timing my jumps when I switch to a smaller character than I do with any sort of camera shenanigans on my norn(s).
The one charr character I have on the other hand is impossible. Where the game thinks his “feet” are for the purposes of whether he’s on a platform or not is probably somewhere in the middle of his torso.
Hence my 51 percent map completion. >3< Friendly mesmers portal me for map completion please. >3<
Always Loyal
jp’s and vistas arnt that bad on a norn…… ive done some of the hardest ones and have 80% map completions on my max height norn..not that bad..
I lol’d. I have absolutly no problems with running JP’s and Vistas with both norns and charrs (and I always make the highest ones). It’s a matter of skill. :P
My max size norn got 99.99999% completion as first character, only missing some 3 WvW PoI that pretty much require us to start on blue. I barely had any issue, the worst being that troll cave in LA.
It was (maybe still is sometimes) really really frustrating and difficult at the beginning. But i’m kind of used to it now.
I tried a JP with my alt tiny asura one day, and that was actualy even worse. You could not see anything above him.

That trollcave has(had?) a shortcut for big players
I’ve honestly not had an issue, however I can see how you might with the tall characters.

Do a jumping puzzle on a large Norn then do the same puzzle on an asura it was an OMG moment for me. That ledge i shimmied along to get just right because the camera was half way through the back of my head was a freaking highway for the stunty
I remember a developer declaring that the camera management was changed when the JPs were already designed, and they realized only after that these changes could bring big problems to the bigger races (norn, charr).
That’s also the reason why in the upcoming “mother of all jumping puzzles” these differences will be somehow eliminated (it’s not been explicitely declared how).
“Warning: This race has transcended the term of Manly. Norn are NORNLY. This race is not for the faint of heart or fragile of minds for it is the definition of EXTREME. If you have one of these, we apologize for the unfair hand fate has dealt you and will offer you one ceremonial ale, the consumption of which will be the highlight of your life. After which, we would recommend that you go play one of those easier to handle races, like Charr, and bask in the afterglow of the fact that you almost played a Norn.”
World completion and 95% puzzles on a max size, fattest body type Charr.
Yes, I am that 1337. Or size doesnt matter, I dont know.
