I made a new a new character and I have spend a bunch of time in the Norn starting zone and I notice that a bunch of Norn are guardian, on all the players have I seen most of them were guardian maybe 50% or more.

Am I the only one to notice that or am just playing at the right time, in the right server and the right zone ?

Well all the norn thieves are stealthed you see.

I rolled a Norn warrior and there are a ton of those, although mine is female and I’d say that combination is relatively rare. I also saw many Guardians.

I actually made my sylvari a guardian. My norns are engineer (my main), and thief.

My male norn is a Warrior and female norn a Guardian. It just seems to fit I suppose.

Don’t base their anatomy on the human’s. Their anatomy is norn, not human.

My Norn is an Ele. And I am loving it

Male Norn Ele havn’t seen many others though.

I made Norn Engineer. Suits me very well but it’s fat!

That’s sort of the logic I had. My main is a male Norn Guardian, because what else would you want protecting you? They’re big and strong, and attractive in that sort of masculine manner. All of which go great with the typical “knight in shining armor” or “valiant protector” feel that the Guardian has.

That said, I also have a Norn Ranger and Necromancer.

Well my first norn was a warrior. Then I made a necro. Then a Ranger. Then a female ranger (long story). Then I made a guardian. These are all norn btw.

My highest toon is the warrior.

So no they are not all guardians.

My main is a norn elementalist, and i have a norn necro, i’m thinking of making my ranger a norn as well, just can’t get into the other starting areas.

my norn is an elementalist as well but I left norn long ago for a more sensitive human who bathes daily.

I made a male Norn Guard purely because Guards are supposed to be big and burly and BIG! ….. they are suppose to take a licking and still kill you… and well, a big Norn Guard fits that bill to a T …. IMHO I even named him like a Guard… “Orion Maximus” a big powerful name.

I have male norn guardian and warrior, and a female norn elementalist.
Norn look good in heavy armor I can say, even their first heavy cultural armor look good.

My norn is a Female Ranger, because i want to dress like Eir since the very beginning… and now i let all of you see her in all her beauty

oh yes, i’ve even a lvl 22 norn female guardian :P

My Norn is a ranger too. And yes, she’s also getting Eir’s armor. XD It’s probably the best-looking armor there is for a female Norn adventurer.

Male Norn Mesmer, and proud. We’re a rare breed.

Based on my Guild and what I’ve seen in game, I’d say the most common Norn classes are Warrior and Ranger, followed by Thief and Guardian. Norn Engineers and Mages are uncommon enough for me to find them noteworthy, but obviously not unheard of. I’ve seen a lot more Human and Sylvari Guardians proportionate to their overall populations… and only a handful of Charr or Asura Guardians.

My own Norn are a Ranger and a Thief.

Thief. Smallest body a Norn can have, tho an avg build. Sad excuse for a beard, but then they all are.

Norn Warrior/guardian/ranger just fits the race extremely well and that’s why you see tonnes of them running around, just like I mostly see Asuran casters and sylvari rangers or plant armored sylvari warriors

It’s my experience that at least half of the active players in the game at any given time are playing guardians, regardless of level, race, location etc. Guardian is the best soloing profession and the easiest to pick up and go with. They wouldn’t be all over the place if they weren’t strong compared to other professions.

As a Norn Guardian I feel like a Norse god!

As soon as Eye of the North introduced me to Norn, I wanted to be one… as soon as Guardian was announced, I wanted to be one. I put the two together because they are the race and profession I wanted the most. :P

That said, once I unlock a sixth character slot, I will likely make a second Norn who will be one of the three professions I do not have right now (Ele, Necro, Engi)

You’re not the first person to bring up the idea that a norn thief is somehow wrong or out of place. They’re not. In fact if Raven and (now-gone) Owl teach the norn anything it’s discretion and the cunning selection of battles.

The norn aren’t klingons guys, they’re norn. Honor and glory are important to them yes, but those aren’t the only ways to grow your legend. Some norn enjoy stalking their prey or luring them into traps more than they do running at them screaming.

And with some of their beard selections they look like bikers.

My thief’s a Norn and Raven likes her for it.

Asura are too concerned on how to use their Alchemy to get drunk, Human’s are so nostalgic they pray to dead entities, Sylvary aren’t too sure whether they practice cannibalism if they eat a salad, and Charrs wish to ascend to be the ultimate ghost buster.

Let them all have their silly squabbles. I am Norn, and I steal my Glory from all of them!

Well im willing to bet most norns are either warriors or guardians , while for sure there are plenty of all classes (honestly , if sylvari did not exist , then maybe ranger would also be one of the top played , but sylvari attracts many ranger players)

In my case , my lvl 80 norn is a guardian.

Well this is a fundamentally stupid statement. Humans are made of meat. So are moa birds. If a human consumes a moa, is that human a cannibal as they are eating flesh?

mines a Necro, i’m gonna rush her to 80 and then grind arah like a psycho until i get full Arah, because theres nothing more epic than a 10ft tall Lichqueen!

My two Norn characters are a both Male. One is a Warrior and the other is a Necromancer. Both use the biggest body type because I want them to have an imposing battlefield presence. I picture the Necromancer as the type of enemy that people see coming and they know their day is about to get worse, especially in WvW hit squads.

^ This exactly. I’ve been wanting to be a Norn since EotN, and I’ve been wanting to be a guardian since they were announced.

Also, stag armor – which I’ve been wanting ever since I saw it for the first time.
