Anyone have a Norn Guardian AND Warrior?
I had them both but warrior couldn’t hold my attention. personally, I don’t think they’re any more similar than a thief and an engineer who both where medium armor. Guardian and warrior both play extremely different.
I really liked the look of the Stag Armour on my norn guardian, and, I have toyed with the idea of making a female norn warrrior since I don’t have a character in that class yet, and I would like to play another norn female in Stag Armor XD That being said, I also have a concept for a syvalri or asuran warrior, or can’t decide.
Indeed, the issue is less their similarity in armour, but that they’d look alike: even if I changed the look of my character, it is still the same female norn vocie, which makes it ‘feel’ like the same character as my norn guardian. I might, I dunno, make the character her sister or something. :/
I have both.
However, one is the smallest male possible (as he’s supposed to be half human) while the other is the largest male possible. So I think they are different enough. The Norn actually have a pretty good range of body size options.
I got both but mainly play the guardian, tbh i prefer the norn storyline which is why i played the same race twice.

Yep! Both females too. I just made them have completely different armor and I love them both.
Had one. It was to be part of my World of Darkness theme. To have a human necro who is of nobility(giovanni bloodline) and a Norn Guardian. Norn because they can become a ‘werewolf’ and guardian for a couple reasons…
With a heal over time build, it works as a simulation to regenerating (my necro follows the same concept of heal over time) and the werewolves in WoD are protectors of Gaia (at least they were in Werewolf: The Apocolypse).
I rerolled for a warrior charr instead. I know the charr are more feline/bovine in nature but the wolf form for Norn actually makes you weaker if used, and is too short lived with too long a CD (as are most elite skill IMO considering how underwhelming they all are). Also, while the Norn females are proportionally correct (just a larger version of a female human), the males are unproportional. The feet are to big, legs too short while the upper body is too tall. The upper body is also too wide and this is something that gets exaggerated if you make yourself anything but the beefiest of body type since the location of the joints don’t really change when you go with a leaner body type. I felt more like a gorilla.
I replaced guardian with warrior simply because the guardian never gets a movement speed increase as a passive effect. The warrior still gets the health signet for a passive regen so that shoe fits better as well. I believe (if I remember correctly) that the guardian has to purform actions to get a heal over time (use skills, attack with the mace, etc.).
If they redid the male Norn’s body proportions, and made wolf worth using, I would gladly go back to using a Norn. I would still make a warrior over a guardian though.
Playing with a thief, ranger and necro and having that passive movement speed buff makes playing a guardian pretty much painful. Honestly, it gives me a head ache now to have to run around the map so slowly. It doesn’t help any that the Norn’s movements are made unnaturally slow due to their size and wanting to keep that race’s speed the same as the other races. Although when the charr are down on all four, they feel like they should move faster too.
I got a Norn guardian (my main 2000h+ played), a Norn warrior and a Norn ranger.
I have both.
However, one is the smallest male possible (as he’s supposed to be half human) while the other is the largest male possible. So I think they are different enough. The Norn actually have a pretty good range of body size options.
You do know that cross-species breeding is impossible, right?
I have a norn guardian still at level 2 – while I love the story, I am having trouble with the gameplay. Guardian is just… slow, especially compared to my warrior.
I have 2 norns.
1 Thief (Male)
1 Elementalist (Female)
Yes i know, i’m out from the crowd.
I have a female Norn Guardian and a male Norn Warrior. They also have different hair and eye color and i chose completely different tattoo designs and colors. I made both of these chars max height 3rdly i have a female Norn thief, this character is almost as short as you can make a Norn so they look more like a tall Human, again gave her different hair and eye color and different tattoo design and color.
I think there is plenty of detail to play around with when making a character, they all have different hair styles as well my Guard has longer blonde hair and my thief has shorter black hair, and for good measure i gave my War a beard because beards are awesome. The Guard and the War have different sets of heavy armor. I am going for a barbarian look for my warrior and a more plated armor look for my guardian.
Because they are a sort of blending between Viking/Scandinavian and Native Americans with their appearances and culture this makes them my favorite race by far.

I was wondering if anyone had both a Norn Guardian and Warrior? Are you concerned that they are too much alike, both wearing heavy mail?
I have a Norn Guardian and a Norn Warrior (As well as Norn Engineer, Norn Elementalist, Norn Thief, Norn Ranger, Norn Mesmer and Norn Necromancer)
I don’t find them too much alike…
My Norn Warrior is dressed in “Barbarian” like armour, to show off tattoo’s and to fit the playstyle of running into a fight and causing as much chaos as possible (Or to blast away targets with a few rifle shots)
Ny Norn Guardian is dressed in more plate armour, to show the favouring of defence over mobility, appearing as a sturdy combatant rather than a furious maniac.
This isn’t to mention the differences in the playstyle (Warriors are more about hitting things with large weapons, Guardians use more magical attacks)
So just because they use the same armour type, doesn’t mean that you have to use the same armour skins (That’s what Transmutation Stones are for)
