Female Cultural Armor T3 issue [Heavy]
Funny, my beef with female armor in this game is that other than t3 norn armor, none of the leggings are LOW enough. The game is filled to the brim with navel-high Urkel pants for women without anything that actually shows some hips. I think this may be considered as a concept mistake.
Wow, so you spent 112g blindly or something ? You didn’t even preview the armor before buying it ?
It blows my mind, you actually spent a fortune on an armor you don’t like and whine to have it changed… What the hell kind of person does that ?
first I’m not whining, second I really like the armor in general, bu meh I like more the style of the koda’s pants for heavy… for kitteny armor I would run a clothie toon…
and for last its just game money, isnt like it worth something u get it by having fun so I expend it as I like =)
There should just be more options. Hip-huggers and navel-armor
It’s supposed to be like that.
Norn’s body temperature is higher than a normal human. That’s why you see all the Norn’s bare chested and sleeveless, even though its snowing out.
To be fair, that is in part a question of conditioning. South american tribes near the land of fire were almost naked when first discovered. Also works for you, since the body adapts more of your “fat” fat into “keep warm” fat, thus helping you keep the temperature.
That said, yeah, norn body temperature is higher to likely they could simply be feeling hot, however a lot of norn armor also features pelts, so not entirely convinced it is a question of feeling too hot.
I’m a heavy armor user not some kitteny skater punk
Trying to apply logic to a fantasy game now eh?
however a lot of norn armor also features pelts, so not entirely convinced it is a question of feeling too hot.
That’s probably a cultural aspect, not a practical one?
Do you even lift, bro?
I think what you’ve highlighted is the worst part of the armor set myself too. It just looks messy in an otherwise well designed set.
On norn feeling the cold:
It’s not quite true the ‘high body temperature’ that many say, least I’ve not read it anywhere. It’s said (both in the official wiki and in-game when talking to various NPCs throughout the world) Norn generate considerable body heat from even the mildest exertion. But if they stand around and do nothing they’ll feel the cold like anyone else.
Norn don’t wear clothing/armor to keep warm/for protection, but to honors the spirits.
The starg armor is great I really like it, but why my pants are so low??
Well, this aspect of the T3 armor is about half the reason I rolled Norn on my Warrior.
It might sound funny but this is the main reason why I didn’t pick this armor. The bottom part looks like it’s about to fell off…
The low leggings are some of the best in the game only because there are way too many Urkel pants! Long live hips.
On men, this armor looks like (fancy, over-the-top) Nornish armor. I’d like that look for my female warrior. Instead I’m probably going from my transmuted reinforced scale to Draconic, and then looking around at mix-and match options to try to feel both Norn and armored on a female character.
Jora, THE iconic Norn Female Warrior, showed a lot of skin, and hip. Would you label her a “kitteny skater punk”? Or, perhaps you didn’t play GW1, so, just in case http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Jora/Armor_gallery
Honestly, if you have prudery “issues” with armor, don’t buy it. Plenty of other armors in game.

I love the armor as a whole and I wouldnt want it changed at all. I payed the 119 gold to get the armor on how it looks right now. if it were to be changed then I would feel cheated. regardless if it became better or worse looking.
There is a bit of town dialogue between a human and an Norn to the effect of~
Normn Woman: “We wear furs to honor the spirits.”
Human Man: “Well, it sure isn’t to honor modesty…”
I think the Norn cultural armor is suprisingly sensible and pretty deliberately skimpy .
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

I don’t think the ‘skimpiness’ of the armour is in question here at all. I personally love the set. It’s just that the leggings are falling off. They’re so low it looks pretty silly in comparison to the rest of that armour-set; which is well fitting, stylish, and when worn really looks like your character’s ready to head out and deliver justice to some dragon-kissers.
Just a product of another male designer I guess…?
Just a product of another male designer I guess…?
To be fair, “another” product compared to what, exactly? What other heavy armors are that low?
All female armors are designed for male players. Period.
Not really. If they were, there’d be a lot more skin.
The starg armor is great I really like it, but why my pants are so low?? I’m a heavy armor user not some kitteny skater punk ><! I think this may be considered as a concept mistake. It really bother me that I can see the half panty of my Norn, from time to time I even seek for the button to pull up my pants
1. If you don’t like that look, don’t buy that armor piece
2. Preview before you buy
3. That is one of two female heavy armor leggings in the game that shows any skin…so I’m positive you have plenty of other choices
4. I’m pretty sure that blanket they have attached to the back of the leggings was put there just for you
5. Stop being a hater
I LOVE that armor set just like it is!
Pssh, I like it. It’s called opinions.

i want that armor as is
Nope. Its more fun that way
This game needs more skin.
GW1 style.
The main Issue I have with the female Norn T3 armor is the fact that the metal part on the legpiece is treated as cloth, so it stretches weirdly a lot, when reviving someone for example. Just looks off. Don’t have a problem with the design though, Norn armour should be skimpy.
